Desven Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 It's 2021 and the server over all seems really focused in moving towards the future. New sprites have been made and a lot of the old has been reworked. In that spirit, the clunky box walls feel like a thing of the past. Plenty of servers have done the leap so far, mostly RP servers, like Bay, CEV Eris, the now-defunct World Server, TGMC, and it wouldn't surprise me if other more colorful RP servers have gone through the same route. I understand directly copying Bay walls or Eris walls would not work, since they don't fit our artstyle, but it would be interesting to see what our sprite artists and map makers could work out.
Carver Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 I'm not big on the perspective shift, even if it can offer some unique details, it'd be more of a case of 'make our server like the others' than anything new or 'better'. I've also never seen a server do proper isometric, so much as a weird semi-angle from the top. My big critique of the aesthetic is that it just looks like shit when you add more perspective-shifted sprites, and demands the entire rest of the server's angled sprites match it in some form (aka vending machines, computers and various containers off the top of my head).
