TechnoKat
BYOND key: TechnoKat Character names: Elizabeth Hoenshell, Victor Kaipov, Chase Welsh, Sarah Victoria, Ross Walter, Hans Mornkes How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About 3-4 months now. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Because I've seen quite a lack of different Head of Securitys and so often which made me think that I'd like to progress one of my characters up to a different level and gain some experiences from it, as well as teach/leave impressions towards other players who might be interested into getting the same role as well. Why did you come to Aurora?: Space Station was something I've always thought wasn't really purposed for roleplaying up until I found quite a few of heavy roleplay servers. This one by far has the most active community and is really great for me to be playing with the lads in it. There's quite decent roleplay in Aurora further more, as many other servers lack this sort of thing. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is what I think should be slow-pace and very relaxing. You're meant to be playing a book, progressing a certain character and looking up to what events might come up. Head on with different actions, get your character a summary background, lots of ideas to come up with. Whilst there might be no roleplay in the other hand, where as a firefight breaks out and everyone starts lashing out onto each other, it can easily be fixed with many other actions and play out nicely, whereas' you could be making some short texts, as acting out pain roleplay, weapon aiming, etc. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose might be fairly simple; prevent the staff of yours department messing about and being plain horrible and try to get it organized and ready for whatever that can occur. They are there to teach anyone who's new and how to play the role, with sort of admin help as well. Mainly to leave impressions for players so they could work out and do the same to the other newer players. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: It should be mainly about giving and leaving examples/impressions towards new players as well as maintaining a good behaviour towards everyone you can see. It doesn't matter if a player is really new, you should be helping out anyone who's in distress with admin help as well. It is the whole reason the community is striving and being very active among other things. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Victor Kaipov Character age: 30 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Victor Kaipov had a pretty much average life in Sol, average education, was keeping his health very limited, up until he had grown up, he had moved to Biesel to live with a friend, renting an apartment. He had been going to attend NanoTrasen security courses very often in his early career, graduating with high melee combat and high firearm proficiency. He's proven himself towards working in one of the prisons in Biesel as well as appointing in regular ships for NanoTrasen for security reasons. Whilst Victor Kaipov had been going through, he was offered to work inside N.S.S Aurora, which was to raise his payments and some benefits as well. He had ability of being designated as a Warden or a Security Officer, as well as some other work such as a Shaft Miner. He was quite aware of many dangers that could happen inside a station, but with the more payments he'd thought, he'd be able to be renting his own house somewhere. What do you like about this character?: He's very quiet most of times and can think of many tricks up his sleeves. What do you dislike about this character?: He can start going very aggressive sometimes whenever he gets pissed and do actions without any thought at all. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?: In some points, yes, I do believe he is fit to be a Head of Staff. Why?: He can maintain control and pull up some rather good things out of many events, the loyalty implant would highly change some of his attitude and act even more professional than before. His character isn't all about being heroic whatsoever, he'd do everything he can with whatever he has. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'm not so honestly sure about this, I'm capable of doing great roleplay, but there is very limited things to roleplay with like chasing a person down and trying to get him down. I'd rate about 7/10'ish if not, 6/10. Extra notes: First application attempt! Link to comment
mrimatool
I'm really undecided in this. For one; me and TechnoKat have had issues in the past. Techno in general seems to be unable to accept death in SS13, often leading to long rants in Deadchat and general 'bitching' about the other players with little thought for their actions and an often diligent refusal to accept their explanations. This kind of 'immaturity' or..inability to accept the kind of goings on and responsibility in those events. Secondly; I often see Kaipov running off to confront antagonists just because, which really puts me off. However, I'm not putting this here not so TK won't be accepted but so TK can take this things under consideration for improvement and so he can know that if these are improved he'll have my full support on this app because I think he could possibly make a great HoS. Lastly; I think everyone deserves a chance to improve, so there we go. My thoughts. Link to comment
Jboy2000000
I don't mind techno, as a player, but Victor? Victor seems like the last person that should the head of staff. He seems angry, unattractive to procedure, I mean earlier today, instead of handling something like it should be as a security officer, Victor just got into a pissing match with someone who brought the shotgun out of the bar and threw a screwdriver at them, after said person had been eye stabbed with the screwdriver, and it sounds like Victor even witnessed the stabbing himself, and still went after the bartender who was just assaulted. And not to dump to much on the app, but the backstory seems really lackluster, not a lot of details, I mean, it meets the bare minimum, but... Link to comment
Guest
Honestly, no. I cannot endorse this application. Here are my reasons as to why I cannot endorse this application. 1. TK has a very hostile and aggressive attitude in OOC. As stated above by Tool, TK has a habit of not being able to accept death in-game and gets extremely antsy and hostile towards the other players in deadchat or in OOC after the round. I've also seen TK berate people in LOOC for their mistakes as antagonists, and yell at 'bad' nuke ops. This is ironic, because TK has shown he's absolutely not afraid to murder without any rhyme or reason at all when he's a nuke op. Hell, I made a jab at one of many TK's arguments about 'bad antagging' and he called me 'a fucking mong' because I didn't agree with his points. 2. TK plays to win and provides little to no interaction for the opposing side. As a security officer during a nuke round, I've seen Kaipov attempt to bumrush nuke ops armed with highly lethal ranged weapons with a stun baton. Multiple times. I've also seen them baton-cuff-strip non-hostile antagonists without a single word or emote. 3. Unless it's an antagonist round, I always see Kaipov at the reception desk doing absolutely nothing and not going out on patrols whether or not I order them to as HoS. This has given me the impression that TK is not interested in interacting with anyone unless it involves violent conflict, in which the only interaction I see is the classic stun-cuff-strip-buckling-haulthatbitchtothebrig-without-a-word method. Call me a hypocrite because I suffered these issues before, but what you've written down in the application speaks opposite of your actions in-game and out of character. It's very difficult to take this application at face value and be able to foresee a more than likable outcome. With your actions reflecting for you, I don't see you as an effective head of staff at all. Link to comment
Dea Tacita
What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose might be fairly simple; prevent the staff of yours department messing about and being plain horrible and try to get it organized and ready for whatever that can occur. They are there to teach anyone who's new and how to play the role, with sort of admin help as well. Mainly to leave impressions for players so they could work out and do the same to the other newer players. As I've said on a number of other applications, you've described the IC purpose. I'll reiterate, the Purpose of a Head of staff, 1. Is to create an environment where people can actually roleplay and 2. Have fun (ofc). Organizing your department, keeping people from fucking around. Those're both IC duties of your character, not OOC responsibilities. I'm somewhat troubled that you'd describe this character as one who "Can maintain control". You've got quite a few notes for playing Victor as a sec officer who's beaten prisoners for minor reasons such as insulting you, along with a multitude of other issues. Another of my issues with this is that you seem to have a perpetual problem with powergaming/ganking. While individual punitive actions were taken for each of these events, a head of staff who power-games can not just break rules, but ruin rounds for many players. In addition to that, you've (Repeatedly) broken rules that you claimed you knew, which would indicate a disregard for Server rules, which isn't exactly ideal in a Whitelistee Link to comment
