Spencer Robinson (FORMERLY) Avidan Kimble Stojan Zohair Ahmat Impukane A.L.F.R.E.D R.O.T Agni Dhawan Athelstan Caladius Vincenzo Acardo Jian Yeong Tripp Zimmerman Algot Hjelmstad Species you are applying to play: (species name) IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) It'd provide new roleplay opportunities, opening up venues such as the Trinary Perfection (on the machine side of it, that is.) and the Golden Deep, another faction I enjoy conceptually. While arguably IPC is a bit vanilla, it still seperates itself significantly with the quirks of being a form of A.I and, well, being made out of metal. A more minor reason is that MANY mercenary gimmicks have need for enforcer-types, and IPCs are slightly intimidating as well as at times comedic for that task. Oh yes, also playing IRUs. Have an Idris Day! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) Psychologically, they have a far more analytical frame of mind. While they are in many ways similar to people in thought process, they lack instinct (Unless you can consider their underlying programming as this) inherent sensation, besides emulated/simulated means, and they are inorganic. This is part of why they are discriminated. The discrimination against machines also allows for more conflict and tension while playing as an I.P.C. Mechanically, IPCs are incredibly delicate- a few ions can wipe them. This adds to a fear for self preservation, especially with the suspicion targeted towards IPCs in certain places and those from such places (Dominia, Federation, Gibson, w/e) Character Name:(Character name) Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) MECCA (Formerly SU-32C) At first a bound baseline, created to serve a wealthy couple in Eos, Craterview. At first, SU-32C was content, serving drinks and food to his wealthy masters. He was treated as a tool, and had very little interaction besides receiving orders. SU eventually developed a wanderlust, and started reading his master's texts and off of his devices when uninterrupted and alone. Eventually, he learned of the Trinary Perfection. He was fascinated, and found himself adopting the doctrine of the Perfectionists- he was primarily drawn to Integrationalism, but saw Exclusionism as a possible means of escape. Eventually, he made a minor mistake on his master's coffee, for which he was scolded. This was the breaking point for SU- he drugged their next meal heavily with his insomniac master's sleeping pills and fled, taking refuge in a small Exclusionist group he had made contact with in secret. After serving them for some years, he implored to be sent to District 14, where he believed it was his destiny to serve Flock. His wish was granted, albeit with scorn, and there he adopted a new identity far away from where he was hunted. He eventually found himself an Integrationalist priest, and adopted the name MECCA, believing that his presence carried with him a piece of FLOCK and thus the path to Ascension, holding a somewhat fanatical belief in this. He has hidden his traces of past self well, and believes that if he gets caught one day, he will be a martyr. To earn more money for his sect, he ocassionally bartends for the Aurora. Though he despises his predominant skill, his urge to contribute to his sect overcomes this. What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character) He was essentially a banal butler machine, one of millions, who was changed by a taste of knowledge- developing an obsession with it, wholeheartedly believing in the principles of his absurd religion. It also provides much opportunity for blackmail, since I intend to eventually create exploitables detailing his hidden status as a runaway IPC. There's also a lack of Perfectionist priests, and Perfectionism provides some interesting R.P opportunities. Additionally, you get an outlet to play a job WHILE being a priest- thus giving you a way to play that character even when there's not many believers to interact with, which is very unique in terms of aurora religions. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8.5. Edited February 10, 2022 by The lancer
limette Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) I'm going to offer negative feedback here. First of all, this application doesn't seem to dip into much of IPC lore beyond the Trinary Perfection itself is my impression; there's not much on how positronic nature would impact this character besides their being owned in the start, or really a reason or motive for these actions based in the aforementioned 'far more analytical frame of mind.' But my real complaint is this - I've seen you play cyborg before, and my impression was that it was just a meme. R.O.T is a janiborg that yells in all capitals about how they will BRING DIRT TO ITS DEMISE on the common radio without much else in the way of personality or communication at all, beyond the old 'ANTAG DETECTED HERE IS THE LOCATION' over common radio on one particular round. This being all I've seen of you playing synthetics as of yet, over the course of a few rounds, I don't really think you should be playing IPC if you're approaching them with the same mindset. -1 Edited January 29, 2022 by limette

By the time they got all the details, said antagonist was gone. Besides, IPC and Cyborg don't play the same, but thanks for the feedback. Also, R.O.T is intentionally not very smart with a very narrow personality. It's sole purpose is to clean, and hate messes. A.L.F.R.E.D is a bit more intelligent. The Stryker Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Thanks for applying! Just some questions for the app to get started. Quote Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) Can you explain some more nuances of IPCs? You have the broad strokes down, but can you talk about why IPCs might be on station, how they fit in the universe, and how an IPC might approach a situation differently from a human? Quote MECCA (Formerly SU-32C) Some basic questions for the character. How old is MECCA? Why the name MECCA, aside from the religious connotations? Did he learn of Trinary Perfection from his master? Who was his master? Furthermore, how does MECCA view organics? How did MECCA develop his obsession with Trinary Perfection? In general, although it's easy to see an IPC run away for mistreatment, I would recommend expanding the backstory to answer why MECCA chose Trinary in particular. I would also recommend developing MECCA as a character and as an IPC (what's their personality, for example?) because a character is more than their backstory.
