When are you on Aurora?: On weekdays, typically in the afternoon/evening timeframe around 7pm-12am. On weekends, predominantly from 11am-9pm. Depends on classwork and such.

Experience

How long have you played SS13?: About 3.5 years if I were to guess. I don't know exactly when I started.

How long have you played on Aurora: 2.5 years give or take. My forum account here was made on July 11, 2020 so that's my best guess.

How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: It varies from department to department. I have a decent overall knowledge and have been learning how to interpret the code.

Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: None

Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Yes, however I do need to work more on being more concise.

Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I haven't been banned.

Personality

Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 primarily for the depth of the game combined with the roleplaying capacity. While some areas of SS13 in general are quite deep in regards to mechanics, the way that everything interacts with each other and can affect just a single round of SS13 is already intriguing enough to me. This is combined with the sheer capacity for roleplay SS13 has alongside how the interface forces me to use my imagination to see the interactions and conversations. It all comes together to give me just about the only game I play anymore.

Why do you play on Aurora?: Community and standards. Aurora is the HRP server, at least in my mind, and is directed right at what I look for and enjoy out of SS13. The community, while not utterly perfect, is still a friendly group that I enjoy being involved with. While Aurora is sort of unique in the focus and standards it has for roleplay, any other server could have those same standards. What seals the deal for me are the other players playing the game. The lore also plays a factor. I enjoy it thoroughly and like the ever evolving nature of it, arcs and additions alike. However, compared to my first two points, it takes a back seat.

What do moderators do?: Moderators help administrators manage and monitor the server to ensure everyone is playing by the rules and upholding the expectations placed on them. They are also a figure in a community which are viewed as sources of information, help, and general role models for how to act in a community.

What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: On Aurora, moderators primarily help with ensuring that players and characters are playing within the rules and roleplaying to a level expected of someone on the server. They are also around to help with issues that someone may have, whether it be an issue with someone else or an issue with the game itself, through ahelps and questions over discord. A moderator is also meant to work with the admins for when certain issues are out of their control, or when a higher authority is needed to make a decision.

Why do you want to be a moderator?: As I mentioned before, a large draw for me to Aurora is community and standards. Both are key reasons of why I stay and having the opportunity to help the community and maintain it is something that draws me in.

What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I am able to but aside myself for issues and conflicts to view things in a neutral view. I quite often try to look at opinions, problems, and conflicts from every angle and side before I make a final decision or verdict. Over the years I have learned to keep a level head and to handle when people get heated, knowing when I may be getting flustered or riled up as well, and adapting accordingly. I also would say I tend to be courteous and nice even when annoyed (What food service does to someone...)

How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I am able to handle stress and insults well. I've learned to ignore insults sent my way, especially over an online environment, and stress is something that doesn't tend to affect me in a way that would harm my ability to think and make decisions. I would also say I can handle anger well.

Anything Else You Want to Add:

None :)

CatsinHD is an absolute positive for the community. They're invested in their characters and it shows - Aisha Hrakra, who I especially like, is a great addition to any RP scene. Their OOC behaviour is very good, never looking for trouble and, in my opinion, having the right attitude when it comes to topics of HRP dynamics and how characters should interact with each other. They'll make a great addition to the moderator team and I look forward to possibly working with them in the future.

+1 from Sputnik.
