Species you are applying to play: Dionae

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yup!

Why do you wish to play this specific race: Gestalt entities are /fun/. Plainly put, they have a super cool premise. Also, I’d be lying if I didn’t mention my want to 100% aurora. They’ve also always been interesting to read about in Federation lore, and I’m interested in playing one, especially with the new Xrim rework. They’re without a homeland, trying to survive in a world that they have to fit into at every chance they get; they make their own space.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Dionae are a deeply inhuman mind shaped by deeply human experiences. They’re like clay; they replicate what they witness, even more so than most humans. Depending on how they’re raised, they could serve very different causes, but they all function as replicators of their society. A gestalt is emblematic of the environment they grew up in, the experiences they’ve had; even their names are reflections of this. All of their experiences are turned into a key part of themselves.

Character Name: The Growing Hum of the Courier’s Engine As They Fade Into Dust

Please provide a short backstory for this character: Courier’s Engine is a Xrimborn gestalt around the age of 26. They formed in the city of Shz’ah, and their constituent nymphs were set to form a gestalt. They quickly found each other and formed a bond, becoming a Harmonious Hymn due to their friendship-like gestalt nature. They were assigned to logistics once they finalized their gestalt and were tagged. The newly-christened Unwavering Bond of Newfound Care joined with Nralakk Logistics to ship packages to Zeng-Hu science outposts in East Eisex.

Unwavering Bond narrowly avoided trouble on their fifth delivery. After dropping a package and going to retrieve it, they encountered Ooclore trees, which another traveller pointed out to them. Unwavering Bond thanked this traveller, named Iu’serrqo Auissoqoru, and travelled with them for the rest of the journey, hearing stories about the Xrim wilderness and life on the road. They took these stories to heart, and parted ways with the courier with a desire to explore the world, to aid others, and to surpass nature. Due to this, they changed their name upon Iu’serrqo’s departure, their core memory being the final sensation of them riding away in their truck, never to be seen again by Courier’s Engine.

Courier’s Engine continued their work for a period of seven years, integrating lost or outdated server equipment into themselves when they could, due to finding the Iron Eternal faith workable for them, even still being Enlightened. They saw how the technology used in those outposts could overcome and redefine nature. However, after memorizing the routes, it no longer held the same wonder it once did. There’s a difference between tracing a rote path and embarking on a journey, and the lines were starting to blur for Courier’s Engine. They requested transfer in the Work Exchange Programme, and after they were determined sufficient, were sent to Orion Express to see the galaxy. Their assignment; the SCCV Horizon.

What do you like about this character?: Courier’s Engine gives me the chance to have a unique perspective on synthetics, Xrim, and the galaxy at large. In addition, they have a good reason to be engaged and curious in most situations, and are part of lore I’m familiar with. Also, to be honest. Road doona. Fucking COOL

How would you rate your role-playing ability?: I think I’m pretty good at it all things considered! I try my best to be in-character at all times, and am good at keeping IC and OOC distanced and chill.

Notes: Courier’s Engine has a mid-lower range SCS.

I've too much to write about Pocheto but I'm tired atm (it's 2 AM) and need more coffee (we're out). I'm just gonna keep this simple, +1, I absolutely trust them to play a *chirp.

Hey, we like your app so far. Just some questions:

1. With respect to Xrim and without, expand upon your character's sentiments on the Eternal. Do they have strong feelings about the dynamics back home? Are they curious about external interpretations of the Eternal?

2. Since your character likes to travel, where do they hope the Horizon goes? What parts of the wider setting fascinates them? Alternatively, where would they wanna stay the hell away from?

Woo! They are very curious about the Ichor Eternal, viewing it as an odd permutation or heresy of their own faith, but still following the same basic principles. They are tolerant of the Orthodox, but views them as having only part of the truth.. They will work alongside those of any faith, however. They're vehemently anti-Scorned and try not to associate with those symps.

They want the Horizon to go to Liberty's Cradle so they can learn more about the Coalition's culture. They're fascinated by its ideas and find it exotic and odd. However, they would prefer not to go to Light's Edge. It's dark, songless, and inhospitable. There's no people to speak of, no nature, and GOD KNOWS WHAT is in that fucking land.
