While this hasn't occured much of the time it is sort of annoying. Imo, offships like katapharacts or the TCFL should act as a total ERT role, requiring some input by command and not making it a simple choice whether to allow them on or not. Offships just defending themselves while on the horizon for RnR would be fine, but Offships actively helping security should be gated behind a distress beacon that requires command action to be acted upon.

This is already in place. If this happens, you need to ahelp because off ships are not meant to respond without a distress beacon launching.

So actual question here. if the offmap is already docked or aboard for non security related things. like I'm Captain and the kataphracts are just in the bar telling war stories, and a security situation occurs that spirals out of control. Do I still need to have a distress beacon launched, if command is in full agreement to ask the kataphracts who are already aboard for help? I ask because it doesn't feel intuitive to launch a beacon for people already aboard.

I like this question, but feel to err on the "Corporate Regulations DEFEATS all Logic" so while it's easy to ask the onboard Kataphracts for help, you would still need to launch the beacon for it to be considered legal or whatnot.

I could totally be wrong and the actual Staff has the final say, but that's just my thoughts on it.
