Which Simple Mobs Should Have Their Smart Targeting Disabled?

So, I've always kind of had gripes with the smart AI system and commented as much over the years. The constant dodging wasn't really appealing to me, but I understand a good chunk of people do like how this works. Apparently, geeves had a var put in which is on by default which can be disabled if desired (I'm not a code diving nerd tho so I never checked myself).

Anyway, after a conversation about it with some others I figured we ought to figure out what mobs would make sense to not dodge around. Easy one was greimorian warriors. It'd make sense if they just charged, right? So I'll probably have something up for them soon. I could also see a case for disabling it on maint drones, maybe.

But yeah, if there's any mobs you've seen that you think ought to be stupider, worth mentioning it since we have a lot that could be adjusted.

I rather wish there were tiers of intelligence as it were, I’d like to see Warriors semi-smart to move around a bit when in engagement range but not ducking and dodging around like trained boxers. It feels like a wide ravine between ‘runs at you’ and ‘dodges like a Dark Souls character’ as far as difficulty goes.

Some things, like apex predators, maint drones, and hivebots should totally just run at you. An apex predator is usually 1.) Big, and 2.) Bigger than that. They don't dodge because it's a waste of energy. The simple-minded bots of Drones and Hivebots also wouldn't dodge. Maint drones due to not having any sort of expectation to do so in their daily lives, and hivebots because, well, honestly, they are small enough that clicking on them is hard.

It should be based on gameplay considerations, IMO.  Tanky mobs should dodge less and easy to kill mobs should dodge more. You don’t want to trivialize the more fragile hostile mobs and you don’t want to make the stronger ones OP.

I agree, we should be considering on gameplay merit, not the realism of it, so to speak. Hivebots, for instance, it may make less sense for them to dodge, but gameplay-wise they should be more of a threat.

As to rogue maintenance drones. I think they should be more of a minor nuisance than anything, and thus trivial to dispatch, so I would say no dodging.
