NerdyVampire Posted July 27 Posted July 27 How does people feel about letting one cloning machine exist, that can only be obtained through xenoarcheology, at the same percentage chance as say the supermatter shard (very rare). It could be reskinned into something more alien, and perhaps it could be given some fun quirks, such as altering the actual species of the crewman or incurring random genetic injuries that then had to be cured by the medical department before the crewman could be considered healthy. This would bring back a cool sci-fi feature which the game is currently missing, without opening the door for overuse, as it will only be available rarely and will likely spark a lot of debate before anyone would consider using it. But it would be a cool thing to bring science and medical together. 2 Quote
Jasorn Posted July 27 Posted July 27 There sort of already is with the one pod that will endlessly produce a certain mob when powered, could probably just reuse that for the old school cloning idea. Quote

That was kinda the same one I was thinking about. It looks perfect for it. Quote
Arbiter_Ambrose Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I am unopposed to such a addition, the death of a person does not need to be the end in my opinon but it should come with costs as suggested. Quote
MattAtlas Posted Monday at 21:16 Posted Monday at 21:16 Cloning is never being brought back as a gameplay or lore element. Too many lore and atmosphere issues involved. Dismissal. Quote
