Last_stand_crew Posted August 1 Posted August 1 This thing is powergaming item, so! it's same size as a box; it can hold objects of normal size (it's own), but not boxes, you know where's that going: strechers, helmets, pistols and SMGs, etc. ; it's holding capabilities are 16 tiny items like a syringe, that means 5 normal sized items and one tiny item at most, just imagine SMG and 8 mags to it in such a little box, now imagine whole satchel of those (7 items of normal size in a satchel/backpack max) what do i propose? first thing is to make it contain only what i was meant to contain from it's NAME: shrapnel, glass, etc. BUT this box can hold those items, it's... idk, it looks normal for it to be able to, SO i came with another disicion: make it bulky sized, you know, it has a sprite with bio hazard insignia on it, that means it was actually meant to hold anything biologically hazardous, like a suit that's irradiated or something like that, but it's size is just powergaming if placed in a bag Quote
Lordnesh Posted August 2 Posted August 2 There's a very simple solution to this. Just don't abuse it. This hardly seems worth bothering the coders with, when you could just not. This is a Heavy Role Play server. You shouldn't have to be told, or mechanically restricted, from abusing something. 2 Quote
ASmallCuteCat Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) I've been using the sharps disposal box to put necrotic limbs/organs in after I took them out >.> (i'm not sure where else to put them LOL) Maybe it could be renamed as "biohazard box"? Unless there's a place to put removed spaceman bits once they're out of the body that I've missed all this time.... Edited August 2 by ASmallCuteCat Quote
Jasorn Posted August 2 Posted August 2 I'll just post here since I was the one that noticed it being abused, yes it's easier to just not break the rules and use the item as intended.. but also it just doesn't make much sense you can shove a whole medbay worth of supplies into the thing, seems like an oversight. Some things you can't ever mechanically stop rulebreakers from using, like a crowbar to bash a random guys head in, that's where mods come in. It's a simple fix I put up a bug report for, and I might fix it myself when I feel like it. 2 Quote
wowzewow Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) This is rather silly - you can already fold and unfold boxes, you can basically do the same thing with the plentiful mask and glove boxes that are so generously strewn about medical already. And, what - there's only two sharps boxes on the entire ship? One for each surgical theater? Voting for dismissal. Edited August 2 by wowzewow Quote

Uhhh because it's one of the only box that has "max_storage_space = DEFAULT_LARGEBOX_STORAGE"? Yes you can cram big stuff into the normal boxes yeah which I find weird as well. But the sharps box holding 50% more ontop of just not making sense as to why it should hold so much in the first place is why I was willing to limit it to small things 1 Quote
Last_stand_crew Posted August 3 Author Posted August 3 (edited) well yes, don't abuse it, but what about those who wants to do it, i mean, i did it for a while, because it's pretty usefull and nice, but there's people who aren't like me, i mean, i did it most of the time only to store uniforms because of RP, but i'm going to stop, i think i found a solution to this, but anyway still there are people who will use it for more usable things like ammo, just like i said, so it's better to make powergaming through this just impossible Edited August 3 by Last_stand_crew Quote
