Garnascus Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) BYOND key: Garnascus Character names: Ludwick Foreal, Also P.E.R.I as AIHow long have you been playing on Aurora?: Probably a good 3 months or so, no more than five i think. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I want to have a greater role in the motion of rounds and i feel i can make it fun for everyone. Why did you come to Aurora?: I wanted a high RP server that also uses events and has a decent player count, aurora fits the bill. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: yes i havePlease provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is assuming the role and mindset of the character and job i am currently playing, this also means hindering oneself to certain situations i feel, so if im a CMO i am going to have little to no knowledge of firearms or how to fix station equipment even if OOC i know how. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A lot of game mechanics such as red alert and signing off on documents needs approval of heads, i also feel that good heads of staff are vital when you need to issue orders to combat a crisis or designate responsibility so everything can operate smoothly if its needed. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think its reasonable to say whitelisted players should be held to a higher standard regarding rules and roleplay ettiquette, as such i will do my best to follow the rules and create good rp so evertone can have fun.
Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Ludwick Foreal Character age: 43 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Ludwick Foreal was born aboard a spaceship, the NSS Echo, a simple cargo ship were his parents worked as cargo technicians. His father Lucas Foreal was hard on ludwick but also firm and fair and his mother Claire foreal would always listen and talk, despite sometimes being covered in grease. Living on a cargo ship ludwick got to see many differant places and species and thanks to the large amount of chemicals that were stored and carried aboard ludwick quickly acquired a love for all things chemistry. He mixed a bad batch here and their but he was able to save up some pocket money for a myriad of texts concerning various reactions and potential potions. Ludwick at the age of around 17 became known as a quasi-chemist that despite his lack of formal education on the subject it was an easy task to treat flu symptoms or cure the odd hangover or two. It was a quiet life but ludwick was not unhappy, although with each "patient" he helped he wished more and more to be able to do more. He understood how his batch of bicaridine accelerated the clotting and wound healing processes of the body but he could not fix the wound himself, The workings of dexalin to promote blood oxygen levels was comprehend able but repairs to the lungs themselves were beyond his grasp. He did some searching and made the decision within himself to become a medical doctor and go to medical school. When Ludwick was 19 he waved goodbye to his home and departed for earth, He enrolled in university and because of his real experiance in chemistry was easily able to afford tuition and live decently enough working as a lab technician. Taking through the whole year ludwick was able to complete a bachelors in chemistry in just two and a half years, he also had two years of lab work under his belt and was finally accepted to echelon medical school, a space station in fact, orbiting earth. Ludwick devoured every iota of information he could glean about the human body, hours and hours he spent perusing notes on anatomy and physiology and it was with a trembling but steady hand he performed his first surgery when he was 26, a simple knee replacement. When he was 27 he graduated Echelon medical school with a medical degree and entrance into a cardiology residency. Despite constantly being busy with his work ludwick was no stranger to friendship, insisting on building strong working relationships either with his jokes or difusing tense situations with dry wit. When ludwick was 36 he applied for nanotrasen to serve as a Medical doctor aboard a space station once again. Nanotrasen placed him aboard the NSS aurora and he spent the next seven years practicing medicine and doing his best to form working relationships with his fellow crew, What do you like about this character?: I like this characters scathing sarcasm and ironic humor the best, i also like his flexibility when it comes to protocol. Ludwick is not the type to bark orders incessantly and be a ruling dictator in his department. Instead of saying " I order you to do X" he would say " could you please X" and he attempts to make friends with anyone he meets, What do you dislike about this character?: He goes through life as if he is in on some private joke the rest of the world isnt and sometimes doesnt take situations as seriously as they should be taken, prefering instead to slap a good helping of sarcasm all over it and blunty tell people off if they annoy him. He has little respect for incompetent leaders which can sometimes get him into trouble, What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He has a fantastic working knowledge of various station procedure and workings and places a strong emphasis on building good relationships to facilitate productivity. He would much rather be comfortable with everyone than bark orders and have everyone dislike him, he takes expert advice into consideration and does not exceed his level of expertise when giving advice to other heads or making a decision within his department. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would rate my own roleplaying pretty well, i like to remember that everyone is playing this game so i try to RP every situation with this is mind, for example if i see our geneticist testing on himself illegally instead of calling security to arrest him i would instead direct him to the appropriate form to fill out or even sign it myself if im the CMO, depends on the situation of course but even if someone is being disrespectful to me as CMO i am very unlikely to attempt to demote them or even call security, its likely ill just try to diffuse the situation with jokes or something and instead RP in a way to try to understand WHY their character is doing what they are doing.
Extra notes: Not a whole lot else for me to say, other than i can say if i apply to play the CMO for the round im likely not going to go SSD randomly within 15 minutes if nothing happens, heads of staff can be critical to RP and other situations so if i go SSD that kinda defeats the purpose. Shadow Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 After playing a few rounds with your character I can say: I really like your character and your roleplay. At least that what I have seen is good. I would love to see him as CMO, but before I give you my +1 please fix your application. Go through it and fix it. I hope I'll say your character more often in the future. ~your almighty Senpai
Garnascus Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 Whats wrong with it? i have never posted to forums like this before so its kind of alien to me.
callum99877 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 OOC: Garnascus: do you even know how to play this game? OOC: Garnascus: shut up and dont insult my name by typing it kid Having just witnessed you say things like this in OOC im unsure whether your OOC example is good for other players. I still have some doubts about your character however there is definitely good potential for a head of staff. For now i wont be endorsing your application.

TishinaStalker Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Hi, admin that processes head of staff whitelists. Actually, I was there when you said that too. I find it very counterproductive now when I read "I think its reasonable to say whitelisted players should be held to a higher standard regarding rules" and then when I read how you were straight up insulting someone; breaking rule 1. In fact, before I give a final verdict, I want a better response to that concern aside from just "Thanks for the feedback." Like how you'll better moderate yourself from here on and out and the like.

Im not going to make excuses for what i said nor am i going to lie to you that im a perfect individual. I make mistakes just like anyone else, i got too irritated at someone egging me and when i should have just ignored it. I would take it back if i could but i cant and if you have to deny my application because of it fair enough, i accept the consequences of my actions. However i submit that instances like these are few and far between and not at all indicative of my actual character ( both ic and ooc).
TishinaStalker Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Very well, I'm willing to accept that after clearing that up. After talking out the situation with Aqy (moderator), who will now be helping me approve head of staff whitelists in order to ensure impartiality, I will approve your application. Glory to Aurora
