valky_walky2 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Hello Diary, Since getting my role I have done two major things. This week I have done: -Started the atmospheric guide, still a work in progress but the first little bit is there. -Gone through the wiki trying to collect an exact list of what needs updating or creating and trying to organize it into some semblance of structure. With priority to critical roles and guides that are missing. I can throw that into the discord when its done. Priorities for work: -Get the basic guides up for all of engineering. -Get the list sorted for what needs doing. -Plan exactly when and how I will finish everything as quickly and efficiently as possible. Filthyfrankster Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hi, MarsSec has its aurora wiki page up and I'll be talking over what we plan to do with it over the weekend with the lore team. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=MarsSec I have been working on a story arc regarding a certain infamous IPC with Loow, As the lore master JB has been informed of our little plans with the collaboration. Mofo1995 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Dear Diary. In a fit of inspiration, I've been tackling my week head on. But enough tooting my own horn, let's get to brass tacks. Â Made a new wiki page and nearly completed it. Related to the previous, made a new navbox specifically for Tajaran wiki pages since there are currently four. Also made "Tajara" a wiki category to make navigation easier, and edited ye olde lore navbox to remove Altair and Trimurti and replace them with Adhomai, Ourea, Moghes, and Sedantis I. Canonized Adhomai Rangers as the Ha'narr Corps, placed them on said new wiki page. Added NKA notable persons pictures, the king and Field-Marshal now have faces to go with their names! Made a new News Channel for the New Kingdom of Adhomai, the Royal Telegraph. Made a news thing about the PRA's reaction Paid an Indian man 50$ to photoshop this abomination, decided against using it for anything but to scare children: Quote
Mofo1995 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Hello again Diary. This week I did these fun things: Posted three news articles and started Babbies first plot arc Canonized Jboy's S'randmarr worship expansion application and added subsections in the religion section for S'randmarr worship, Ma'Ta'ke, and Njarir-Ahkran worship. Though the latter two are still being hammered out. Added Marriages and Relationships section to the Tajara wiki as a subsection of culture, allowing players to know the proper way to "OwO what's this?". This bit was actually done last week, but I canonized the second person perspective in Tajara linguistics. You're allowed to say "you, your, you're" etc. It was always allowed implicitly since third person only ever was stated as replacing first person, but I figured I'd clarify. Related to the last point, added wiggle room for people who want to use an all third person format since some players already do. It's explained away as being region dialect differences. Added section on evolution of Tajaran tongues in the evolution section after being asked about it by Serveris. Edited Tajara wiki navbox to have categories and to include Nal'Tor College of Career Excellence. Started giving some content to the Education subsection of the Culture area of the Tajara wiki. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I'm so bad about posting in this. This is what happens when no one complains at me. I actively encourage you getting on my case! Â Unathi have been given a little language tab, explaining their language, its structure, and a little history behind it. Mechanically, Unathi can now safely consume carpotoxin, devour dead (or alive?) carp, and have reduced tolerance to alcohol. So you can hold a feast in the bar with your unathi buddies but even the dainty little medbay nurse will destroy you in a drinking contest. In an effort to break down the growing size of the page, I've given the Contact War its own page on the wiki. To tease our inevitable economy, I've been working with developers to progressively raise prices of various goods in the vendors to simulate station-side effects of the ongoing embargo situation. I'm pleased with the reactions so far (including an explosive rise in "legitimate businessman" Tajara peddling cheap cigarettes) and we'll see how else we can mess with the prices for further fun. Mofo1995 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Hello again Diary! This is two days late, as weekend festivities swished me away. Â Continued my plot arc in the news articles! The life of the NKA is on the line. Began redrawing the lines of the political map of Adhomai with some artistic help from Loow, don't expect to see it for a few weeks when the dust has settled from this story arc Added Messa's Tear and S'rendarr's Hand to the flora section of the Adhomai wiki page! Now you can blaze the hand like a sun, just don't bin it or your Tajara coworkers might get mad. Added volunteer regiments to the New Kingdom of Adhomai! If you want to retire your characters to a glorious cause or have them go serve for awhile and come back, you can send them to the frontlines of the NKA's brutal last stand. Started writing and work on Pre-Sol Alliance Credit Tajaran currency. BUT the Tajara main lore page is getting really overfilled with junk, in fact, it's the second largest page by bytes behind only the Guide to Chemistry Page. So, keep your eyes peeled for a possible new Tajara lore page as I seek to clear fluff and clutter from the main page into peripheral pages. Quote
Mofo1995 Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Hello my pretties. Â Finished the education section, though the bossman pointed out a grammatical typo I forgot to fix Moved all Tajaran Ethnicity lore to its very own page, which cut down on a ridiculous amount of information on the main page, left a summary in their place. There's a link to the new page in the ethnicity section, as well as a link in the navbox and with the Tajara wiki page category. Continued the plot arc, the NKA is spared certain doom... for now. Will the PRA be able to suppress the waves of insurrection? Got some neat Battalion composition and structures diagrams from Complete Garbage! They'll go up in the military structures section when I figure out where and how I want to put them on there. Added a population number to the Tajara! Unfortunately, this puts a cap on the total number of Tajaran characters, we may have to start rationing out character slots and new whitelists once we start approaching 5.25 billion Tajaran characters. Continued work on Tajaran economy page, which is where the pre-credit currency is going to be featured. So far only about two sentences are on the page itself, but you can all look forward to seeing it! Removed WIP tag from Tajaran Military Structures page. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 A late diary entry because my lore work was scheduled for yesterday and today. Â A navbox has been created for the unathi pages, as Mofo taught me how to make one. So now I can begin migrating the info dump on the main page to their own respective pages. Uueoa-Esa, the entire solar system for Unathi, has been touched on. There's now information for the other planets that make up the home system for our resident lizards. It's meant to provide a brief overview of the system, and I've put as much detail into the scientific aspect of the planets as I personally found interesting while skimming on wikipedia for planets I wanted to emulate, which is clearly evidence of my deep rooted hatred for sci-fi and science. Elements of the two dominant faiths have been expanded on as it got its own page, including information on how the different faiths feel on major elements of station-side shenanigans such as borgification, synthetic life, cloning, and prosthetic limbs. This can let lizard priests or shamans get a good starting point, while it's stressed that the faiths struggle with these concepts so you can be a pro-synth lizard priest if you reALLY want as long as you understand you're weird. A military page has been added to touch on the Hegemony's military. More information on the main page may be broken into its own pages, as the history section still seems particularly long to me. As a history major I may be biased in my thinking the history section is important enough for whitelist hopefuls to have to read on the main page, though. Quote
Mofo1995 Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Dear diary, this past week I: Added more content to the Tajaran Economy page Helped Jackboot with him creating his Unathi navbox Made an expansion of the Ma'ta'ke religion! Now it's a pantheon of mythological gods, influenced by Greek mythology in themes but not in style. Mata'ke himself is at the head of the pantheon. Â Not my most active week, but I'm particularly overjoyed about two two pieces of Tajara work I managed to do. Quote
Mofo1995 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Dear diary, this is what I did this week: Completed the Pre-Sol Alliance Credit Currency section of the Adhomai Economy lore page, and began to discuss the adoption of the Credit Added a picture of a battleship to the Adhomai's navies section of the military structures page that Jackboot recommended to me, credits are in the picture's file but I need to add them to the page still. Loow and I have been putting together a recurring event! We just have to make sure the poses are strong. Fouchi, by Lorenzo Mattottis. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Dear diary, Today I opened openings for the Synthetic lore developer position, as Nebulaflare has yet to return from her trek in the wilderness. The embargo arc is currently entering a new phase as I've worked out the details with the human loredev Pyyric. Quote
Shadow Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Updated: (Partially) https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Guide_to_robotics Will updated advanced mech repair n stuff tomorrow. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Surgery to include Vaurca. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Random_Events to include the new events. Mofo1995 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Heyo, a day late a dollar short. Here's what I've been doing: Continued writing new Ma'ta'ke lore, it has it's own wiki page which I will add to the Navbox when it's ready. Finished adoption of the Sol Alliance Credit section of the Adhomai Economy page, the entire history of Tajaran currency is now covered by the lore, now I need to work on things such as common exports and imports, and the degree to which modern Adhomai is industrialized today. Did some testing with Loow for our event on the test server a couple weeks back, hoping to go live with it in the near future! Quote
Shadow Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Added a wiki page about station directives https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Station_Directives And updated every species wiki page to contain Heads of Staff info as well. Quote
Mofo1995 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I need to stop posting late in here. Â Added snow skiis to the Ha'narr Corps as optional equipment on some missions. Originally meant for them to be there, but apparently it had slipped my mind. Made additions to Tajaran biology, effectively canonizing an old forum post by Sue (My predecessor's predecessor) Which said something along the lines of Tajara age some 30% more quickly than humans. This also has an effect on Tajaran lifespans, namely they don't live as long. There's no official rule against it, even from me, but if you don't want to be a snowflake keep your Tajara less than 80 years old and keep in mind above 60 years old is venerable. Started a new plot arc in the News Articles. Began work on Major Imports and Exports of Adhomai, hoping to finish the page by mid February. Quote
Shadow Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Humanity first. REEEEEEEE https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=ATLAS Added an ATLAS wiki page. WIP. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Did a soft rework of GAIA and ATLAS, following Shadow's head-dive into getting it started. Both of their pages are now live and pretty much finalized. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=ATLAS https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=GAIA Coming up: Pretty pictures and a navbar. Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 My Martian rewrite is live, in addition to the map I've drawn for Mars. Â Â Most of the changes were reorganizing information. Some redundant elements were removed or merged into other areas. Tried to focus major elements on things that are relevant to wanting to shape a character from the planet: Distinctions between the urban and rural, the social divides, and unique Martian mindset that make them rugged survivalists with a culture of gambling, drinking, and fist fights. Mofo1995 Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Time flies when shitposting. Over the past month or so, I: Â Began a new plot arc, the ALA Winter Offensive has ended, NKA Parliament has bombed and they are going on the offensive, the PRA is pushing to retake lands lost to the ALA over the past few months. Finished the Adhomai Economy page! It now details most of the history for Tajaran economy, ranging from the evolution of currency and contemporary forms of paying for items, major imports and exports, the integration and utilization of smuggling in everyday life. This page is still listed as WIP because its original version was extremely dense and dry to read through. I'm only halfway through editing it to flow better and be easier to read, but the content itself is all there. With Loow, Alberyk, and Serveris' help, ran the first of a series of "light events" around smuggling goods onto the station during the embargo. The smugglers made over 1000 credits in profit from the station last event through their on-station dealers, and another 1000 by coming on board and selling pizzas. Cleared a writer's block regarding the Ma'ta'ke gods page and resumed development. Â For the next month, I hope to finish the Ma'ta'ke Gods page and get a new political map for the wiki to reflect the changes of the past year of warfare, in addition to continuing news articles from the three sources. Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Renamed Terrorist Collaboration to Corporate Espionage, since stealing corporate secrets isn't exactly terrorism. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Muncorn has left the lore team after being relieved from the position of Synthetic overseer after prolonged periods of inactivity. After a few days of consideration, I'm giving the responsibility to someone already in my department: CakeisOssim! Please welcome our new synthetic lore developer. Our education initiative was a little hidden, so I made it more pronounced. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Background_summary#Your_Workplace I added a little bit of edits to the Unathi page on Guwans in the social mannerisms segment. Unathi should always be addressed by their last name in most situations. It is offensive to use a Unathi's first name unless you are family or have a close friendship with them, but some Unathi are more permissive than others. In a situation where there are multiple Unathi with the same last name, it's generally accepted to just get more and more specific in your address to make it clear who you are speaking to. For most Unathi being seen speaking to a Guwan is embarrassing. A woman associating with a Guwan is extremely improper and indecent, and they can lose social standing by doing so. If a Unathi is the last of his clan, or is otherwise estranged with no one to declare them Guwan, then a Unathi may still find themselves challenged by other rival clans who lay claim to this Unathi's land, titles, inheritance, or name. If a Unathi is unable or unwilling to defend their claims (which would involve lengthy court trials on Moghes) then they would be stripped of them and declared Guwan. This means that a Unathi hiding in human space can still be named Guwan if their past, or rivals, catch up with them. Quote
Shadow Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Added this: https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Taipei_Engineering_Industrial https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=New_Seoul_Combat_Training_Centre https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Republic_of_Elyra#Bursa_Memorial Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I've written a page describing the vanilla themes of Unathi honor, including their major honor code for warriors, and the honor code's impact on vanilla, urban unathi. https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Unathi_Honor We've made ethonal toxic to Unathi, but I'm working with Nanako to implement drinks that are based on Butanol that will get Unathi drunk and let them return to the bar, while having zero affect on other races; like drinking water. Quote
Mofo1995 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Removed references to the NKA being on the retreat from their faction summary Added Democratic People's Republic of Adhomai to the ALA faction summary Completed a timeline of 25th century history for Adhomai, still haven't found a home for it outside of my user page on the wiki. Still needs details of events in the first revolution. Quote
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 I've updated the religious views on non-traditional relationships and a bit about the phenomenon of how the spirit is related to the physical body. How your clan incorporates these concepts is, of course, left to them. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Unathi_Religion#Overview In general, ALL FORMS of relationships are defined by being either Love (romance), Lust (physical attraction), or Duty (the desire to carry on your dynasty). Sk'akh says Duty is more important than Love and Lust. Th'akh say Duty, Love, and Lust must be balanced on equal terms. Because the spirit is the true individual and our bodies are products of faulty biological processes, it's accepted that a soul could be created within the wrong sex. Of course, that doesn't mean you're not going to still be considered property if you're a woman with the spirit of a man burning within you, unless you're in a progressive Ouerean clan or your local shaman is REALLY chill. It's kind of inclusive but arguably mostly extremely sexist because it means most Unathi don't consider women as inherently able to have drive for non-feminine fields. These should place Unathi in a unique mindset as opposed to the other races while also adhering to their themes of traditional virtues. I'm very pleased that in getting feedback, everyone I asked was either supportive of the additions as-is or had thoughtful criticism within the confines of how these fit thematically and if they're consistent with the rest of the Unathi's themes.
