nursie's head app

Recommended Posts

BYOND key: NursieKitty

Character names: Phoebe Essel, Kazuo Kurosawa, Garvan Harper, Morgan Harper, some others.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:

Why did you come to Aurora?: Facepunch died, and I needed a new server. I came to Aurora expecting to find, simply put, a bunch of tightly-wound hardasses. I found friends instead.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: It's playing a role! You get in the character, you become them, and just let things happen. It's like writing a story, except you don't need to be a good writer. You just be. Personally, I like to challenge myself in roleplay. I want to try new things, and encourage people to do the same.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Help new players and whoever else with IC mechanics. They're someone you can depend on if you don't know what the hell you're doing. They have higher standards, and they're the ones held accountable for when things go horribly awry.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Whitelisted players are held to a higher standard. They, needless to say, have far more responsibilities than non-whitelisted players. They have a duty to assist non-whitelisted players with game mechanics, protocol, and most other game functions.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name: Garvan Harper

Character age: 48

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Garvan Harper was a burly man with the face of a lion. He eagerly acquired a bachelor's in criminal justice and applied to work for Lowell's police department. Unfortunately, he found the very thing he sought to combat - corruption.

It was a difficult twelve years for Garvan. You could never know which cops were dirty and which were clean, but he managed. He did, until late July, when he responded to a shoot-out involving a drug transfer they had been chasing for months. He ended up in the hospital with several bullet wounds, and resigned from the force soon after. He claims to this day that some of the shots came from the wrong side.

He then spent nine years working Lowell's correctional facility where he learned skills that, unbeknownst to him, prove invaluable in his future career.

What do you like about this character?: He's a family man. He's stern, and lends an ear to those who need it (usually prisoners), respects his colleagues, and is currently watching his own son enter law enforcement.

What do you dislike about this character?: ..He's a family man. He's a little slower to action than most sec personnel, preferring to see whether it's a force that can be reasoned with first. He's also not military-trained, which is going to leave him open to a fair amount of criticism.

Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?: Yes.

Why?: I think he provides a much needed more communication-oriented take on security. He has no objections to detainment, but that doesn't mean he won't stick around and listen to their woes. I'd like to think this makes him quite the problem solver.

Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I feel uncomfortable with this question. Mostly because of course I'm going to be biased in my own favor, and rate myself highly. I'd like to say I'm a 7/10, because I have a tendency to let OOC aggravation get to my character (especially with certain ones in particular) and I will make a joke out of a situation when it might not exactly be appropriate.

Extra notes:

I'm really, really bad at being wordy. I'm sorry if this isn't enough words.

First person to say "You have characters that aren't Phoebe?" gets to eat my boot.

Right, I'm going to start off by saying I haven't had nearly as much interaction with nursie, more specifically Phoebe, as I would have liked to, meaning I think that most of my characters would get along with Phoebe very well. Anyways, from The interaction I have had with nursie, I very much that she is more than capable of handling a head of staff position. I fully endorse this application.

You don't just play as Phoebe?!?!?! Lol, just kidding mate. I've seen ya play with others, and fairly speaking, i just hope you wont hide in lockers as a CMO or other Head job, by all means, i'll give a credit on this application! J-just don't go as psychotic as Phoebe that is.... into xenos... yea.. i'd rather not continue this line of thought.

Let me just say, Nursie and I don't exactly get along, by far. But her characters are well developed, they make sense, and they're enjoyable to have onboard and interact with (Even if Phoebe cut off my Head of Security's dick once, YES that happened) . I support this fully.

Well, I like Phoebe as rude persons, it gives some different look on the crew, that not all people are pink-polite cutties. Phoebe couldn't be CMO in my opinion, on the other hand, cold minds are useful for ERT, HoS. But I think that Garvan Harper could be a head indeed.

Nursie's a splendid roleplayer, I think they're a little too humble with the self-rating.

I've not only see them play Phoebe to a extent that is both entertaining and interactive, but I've played with a couple of their other characters as well. I can definitely say Garvan Harper is going to be more than a capable HoS.

...Though, I think people would have qualms about Phoebe CMO.

Phoebe CMO is something I have indeed considered, but it's not something I wish to fill my whitelist app with. Private input would be welcome.

Phoebe would make a good CMO, mostly because she wouldn't let her medical team get up to no good and would make them work. A no nonsense boss is what medbay needs, keep them dam chemists and geneticists in check.

Phoebe would not make a good CMO. She outwardly hostile, and not to mention that in her record she has malpractice suits and that she lost her medical licence once.

However, I do like Nursie as a roleplayer, and she/he/they are most certainly deserving on a whitelist

I am completely against Phoebe CMO HOWEVER, this is not a Phoebe CMO app.

I think Nursie is very capable of a Head position. Garvin sounds like a reasonable and a character that has a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing him in a head position.

I personally don't think Phoebe should be cmo.

I play neither Lachina Green nor a Unathi, so I'd never get any help or a word from her at all.

I'm all for Garvin as head of staff and Nursie for head whitelist, and whatnot but I despise putting Essel in a head position.

Phoebe as a head of staff? Nty, however,

Nursie would do great as a head of staff in my opinion anyways. She's been playing in Aurora for a very long time and has actual experience in many roles. But honestly, Essel as a head of staff is just a big no no. I'm up to see Harper as a HoS.

Neither do I, but I am more than confident that Nursie can handle operating as a Head of Staff. Nursie knows when to hold 'em, when to fold 'em, when to walk away and when to run. (And by that I mean that I have never seen Nursie's RP lacking.)

You can dislike a Nursie character because of how well that character is brought to life. On that same token, Nursie herself is capable of making a character that makes people feel something. How many people see this application and think Essel shouldn't have a CMO gig?

Those are all people that have been moved by Nursie's character, Phoebe. She can make a character that people care so deeply about (whether positively or otherwise) and that makes me think that she can make a Head that people will care about just as much. (Although Harper probably won't have such a rough reputation... right?)

I'm totally in favor of Nursie RPing heads. Give us something to care about.

+1.
