TechnoKat Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Well, people can abuse this shitty mechanic with escaping security or so, why not add a minute to weld a door? Maybe also add another function, being able to cut through doors with upgraded welders? Taking two minutes or longer.
Lady_of_Ravens Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 A minute is pretty long the way SS13 handles time... 10 seconds would be a lot closer to right. Not sure about cutting through doors, though... we already have ways to dismantle them.

It's definitely something you would notice IRL while walking past, and an animated sprite would make it obvious someone's welding it (Even if it's just a single spark pulsing on the door)
