T'zakal Enters The Race!

As the contest for the Hegemon’s hand goes on, a surprise to many has entered the fray - Azihoa T’zakal, from the relatively small T’zakal clan of Imas’hi, has announced her intent to wed the Hegemon. While compared to some of the other nobility who’ve cast their names forward, the T’zakal seem to be a relatively small and unimportant clan, they do have one factor that distinguishes them - their ties to the human corporation, Hephaestus Industries.

Among all the human corporations, Hephaestus has always had close ties with the Hegemony, and many Sinta from all walks of life have left their ancestral homelands to work on Hephaestus stations, vessels and facilities across the Orion Spur. Yukal T’zakal, uncle to Azihoa, is the Sector Administrator for Hephaestus within the Hegemony - and has been an instrumental figure in Hephaestus’s operations on Moghes and Ouerea so far. The T’zakal have risen highly from tying themselves to Hephaestus - though not everyone is satisfied with their growing power.

We reached out to Yukal T’zakal for comment - however, he only had a few words to say. The sector administrator is a busy man, and only had time to inform us that “While I am proud of my niece, and I wish her success in her pursuit of our Hegemon, I can’t comment in my position with Hephaestus - the Hegemon’s marriage is hardly a company affair.”

Hardly a company affair indeed - though many in the streets of Skalamar seem to feel otherwise, claiming that Azihoa T’zakal is little better than a puppet of the megacorporation. Outrage is high - and we here at Sinta Articles have got the word off the street, having asked several citizens just today their opinions on Azihoa T’zakal.

“It’s a disgrace, the idea of it. If Titanius Aeson wants to climb into bed with our Hegemon, let him drag his scaleless ass to Moghes and do it himself”.

-Kseok Vharis, apprentice of the Construction Coalition

“Those human guilds, they already have too much power here, now they want to wrap tails with Hegemon Not’zar? We ought to send the fleet out, and give those honorless bastards a taste of Sinta steel! I was on Gakal’zaal, you know, I know what those alien barbarians are capable of, and the T’zakal want to bring them in here even more? We ought to hang them all up in Skalamar Square and…”

-Izkra Sarak, unemployed vagrant. The remainder of Sarak’s statement was cut for the sake of public decency.

“I don’t know, it’s not like every T’zakal is a Hephaestus spy. And don’t you listen to what those old guildmasters sitting on their hoards have to say about Hephaestus. I took a job with them, just last year, and I’m already making double what I did as an apprentice, and without having to sit around until some fat old men decide I’m ‘ready’. If marrying the T’zakal means more of that for the people? I’m all for it.”

-Vasegh Kssighriss, Hephaestus shuttle technician

As we can see, Azihoa T’zakal’s interest has certainly been the talk of the town for days now - but is the potential of stronger ties to Hephaestus worth it, over all these other suitors? Only tomorrow will tell - but remember, there’s only one outlet that YOU can trust to get you the latest and best coverage of the upcoming Hegemonic marriage - and that’s us, here at Sinta Articles.

Exclusive Interviews With Hegemon's Suitors, Part 1

The race for the Hegemon’s hand accelerates, as our sources from within Keep Izweski indicate that Hegemon Not’zar is growing ready to choose a spouse from among those prominent nobles who have presented themselves! In this time of excitement here in Skalamar, we at Sinta Articles have managed to secure exclusive interviews with each of our Hegemon’s most prominent suitors - broadcast LIVE from Skalamar, and transcribed here for your reading pleasure! We have several promising candidates, but in the end, only one will triumph - so let’s see what they have to say about it?

Interview 1 - Seleta Sarnac

Interviews conducted by Kresk Mikoro, Master Bard and Izweski Court correspondent with Sinta Articles.

Quote

Mikoro: “Thank you for speaking with me today, Lady Sarnac. You were the first to declare your interest in the Hegemon’s hand, is that right?”

Sarnac: “Yes, that’s correct. I have long admired Hegemon Not’zar’s forward-thinking approach to the Hegemony’s future - and I hope that by his side, I can help to safeguard that future.”

Mikoro: “As a Hand of the Hegemon, you probably know him the best - do you think that’s given you an advantage so far? You’ve been one of Hegemon Not’zar’s strongest supporters since his coronation, do you think that reflects well with him?

Sarnac: “I believe that our Hegemon knows me quite well - and I hope that he knows the advantages that will come from a union between our two clans. I do think that being a close friend of Hegemon Not’zar has given me an advantage - but we will have to wait and see, no?”

Mikoro: “Some say that your ideals are too radical. Do you have anything to say about that?”

Sarnac: “I take it, if anything, as a compliment. I understand many want to cling to the way that things have been - but we cannot move to greater things as a species if we are trapped in the past. Tradition is a grand thing, but it should not become the enemy of progress.”

Mikoro: “I see. And lastly, what do you think of the Hegemon’s other suitors? I know that your clan has a long rivalry with the Miazso, do you have anything to say about Overlord Miazo’s intentions?

Sarnac: “Let the others do as they may. Hegemon Not’zar knows who his truly reliable allies are.”

Mikoro: “I see. Thank you for your time, High Speaker.”

Interview 2 - Zsash Hutay’zai

Quote

Mikoro: “Thank you for speaking with me today, Lady Hutay’zai. How are you finding Skalamar?”

Hutay’zai: “It is very… different from Kutah. There are not many aliens there, but Skalamar, there are many visitors from offworld. It has been strange adjusting to it.”

Mikoro: “Some culture shock then. I sympathise, I’m from Darakath. And, had you met the Hegemon before coming to Skalamar?”

Hutay’zai: “A few times, when he visited my father, or when we came here. I have not spoken with him at length before my arrival though. He is a very charming man.”

Mikoro: “Oh, I’m sure, I’m sure. Do you think that faith has been an issue in your courting of the Hegemon? Him following Sk’akh, and all.”

Hutay’zai: “A man of a different faith, it is strange- but I see the man that he is, not simply the faith that he follows. I have enjoyed speaking with him on religious matters, and I think that he has been equally interested to learn more of Th’akh.”

Mikoro: “So, do you think things are going well between you and Hegemon Not’zar?”

Hutay’zai: “I do. Regardless of how things turn out, I have been impressed by speaking with him, and I think that our two clans will be closer, even if we are not wed.”

Mikoro: “Would it be a Th’akh or Sk’akh ceremony, if you did marry?”

Hutay’zai: “I don’t know. I would prefer a Th’akh ceremony, if the choice is mine.”

Mikoro: “And - what do you think about the competition so far? Do you think that you have a real shot at marrying the Hegemon?”

Hutay’zai: “The spirits will tell, with time.”

Mikoro: “Right, yes… but, you must have a sense as to how things are going.”

Hutay’zai: “I will not make predictions. Things will go as they may.”

Mikoro: “That’s all the time we have, I think - thank you for meeting with me, Lady Hutay’zai.”

Interview 3: Rokasi Miazso

Quote

Mikoro: “Overlord Miazso, thank you for agreeing to this interview. How are you finding Skalamar?”

Miazso: “I have not had the pleasure in a long time - it is a beautiful city, and it has changed so much - a spaceport right here in the city, filled with all manner of strange and beautiful creatures. What a sight to see, no?”

Mikoro: “Oh, yes, I guess so. And, your courting of the Hegemon. How’s that going?”

Miazso: “Hegemon Not’zar is a beautiful soul, and I believe he and I share a passion for the finer things in this life. He has a surprisingly in-depth knowledge of old Teht poetry.”

Mikoro: “I see. The matter of inheritance has often been raised with you and the Hegemon - do you have any plans for that, should you be married?”

Miazso: “Should we be married. As if it is a thing that just happens, without much individual input, as natural as the rising of the sun. The heart, Mikoro, is a complicated mechanism - and mine beats proudly for our Hegemon. Should he return my affections, we will discuss the matter of heirs then - but for now, is it not enough to simply enjoy life as it comes to us?”

Mikoro: “So for you it’s entirely a matter of love, then?”

Miazso: “Of course, such a thing would benefit me - but then, I hope that most marriages are a boon to the involved parties. I came to lay my heart at the Hegemon’s feet because I care for him, not for matters of politics.”

Mikoro: “So, this isn’t in response to Lady Sarnac announcing her intent? Your two clans have historically been rivals, and if she were to marry the Hegemon that would certainly tug the balance of power in the south-”

Miazso: “I bear no ill will to the Sarnac, and wish them luck in their endeavours. While, certainly, the Southlands are precarious - that is not why I am here.”

Mikoro: “But, with regards to the-”

Miazso: “Three Heads, man, have you nothing more to talk about than politics? I came here because I wish to be married, not to further my own ambitions.”

Mikoro: “Right, yes- my apologies. I think that’s just about all the time we have, though. Thank you for this interview, Overlord Miazso.”

Exclusive Interviews With Hegemon's Suitors, Part 2

Our interviews with the Hegemonic suitors continue! In this issue, Ozesh Zuruziir and Azihoa T’zakal share their thoughts on their courting of the Hegemon, in exclusive interviews with Sinta Articles!

Interview 4: Ozesh Zuruziir

Quote

Mikoro: “Lady Zuruziir. Thank you for meeting with me today.”

Zuruziir: “Please, Chief Zuruziir. We don’t really… go in for the old noble titles, on Ouerea.”

Mikoro: “Of course, Chief Zuruziir. Let’s talk a bit about that - the Ouerean Confederation is run very differently from the rest of the Hegemony, in what many view as an act of defiance. Do you feel like that might cause you any difficulty in your courting of Hegemon Not’zar?”

Zuruziir: “It was the Hegemon who stripped our former Overlord of his titles, and allowed the Confederation to rule ourselves in the manner of our choosing. If these ‘many’ have a problem with that, let them take it up with the Izweski themselves.”

Mikoro: “So, you’re a supporter of the Hegemon, then?”

Zuruziir: “My dear, I would hardly be trying to marry him if I was not. We may not share a planet, but we share a nation - one that needs to be undivided if we are to stand firm.”

Mikoro: “Our Ouerean correspondent has said that many citizens of your homeworld are concerned that you intend to leverage this marriage to make yourself into a new Overlord of the planet. Do you have any response?”

Zuruziir: “What an absurd notion. I love the Confederation with all my heart, and the system that we have built there. I would see the Ouerean way of life preserved - and hope to prove that it is not antithetical to the way of life here on Moghes.”

Mikoro: “How are you finding Moghes, by the way? Is this your first visit?”

Zuruziir: “I visited once, with my father. He wished to show me our ancestral lands, where our can came from. All sand and glass now, of course - but once, he told me, the city we ruled was one of the mightiest of the region. It stuck with me, seeing it overcome by raiders and savages.”

Mikoro: “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Zuruziir: “Don’t be. It isn’t your fault, and I cannot have lost a home I never knew. My home is Ouerea, and it thrives to this day.”

Mikoro: “Right - about that. Ouerea has a large alien population, no? Why don’t we talk a little about the integration of humans and Skrell on your homeworld?”

Zuruziir: “Their ways, I will admit, are still strange to me - but they have been citizens of my world since before the Contact War. I know some fear alien influence, but Ouerea is a planet of disparate peoples - Sinta from all across Moghes, Skrell, humans, Vaurcae - it is a model, I think, for the future of the Spur. Many species, collaborating for a higher purpose.”

Mikoro: “Do you believe the Hegemon shares your views?”

Zuruziir: “I believe he does - did he not welcome the K’lax into the Hegemony, when they arrived? He knows that we can remain proud Sinta, sons and daughters of Moghes, and still see that clasping our claws with others is not weakness, but great strength.”

Mikoro: “Insightful comments, Chief Zuruziir. I believe that’s all the time we have for today. Thank you for this interview.”

Interview 5: Azihoa T’zakal

Quote

Mikoro: “Lady T’zakal. Thank you for meeting with me today.”

T’zakal: “Of course. I’m a big reader of the Articles, very exciting to be in one!”

Mikoro: “Let’s talk about perhaps the most oft-discussed part of your courting the Hegemon - your clan’s ties to Hephaestus Industries.”

T’zakal: “What’s there to talk about? They have been firm friends to both my clan and the Hegemony for many years, but they’re hardly involved in this wedding.”

Mikoro: “Yes, but some have claimed that if you were to marry the Hegemon, Hephaestus would have-”

T’zakal: “I don’t work for Hephaestus Industries.”

Mikoro: “Yes, but there are strong ties between your-”

T’zakal: “Mikoro, if you want to talk about Hephaestus, I can give you my uncle’s contact information.”

Mikoro: “But do you not wish to address the concerns there?”

T’zakal: “If some want to call me a Hephaestus spy, whispering in the Hegemon’s ear, let them say that to my face. I know what and who I am.”

Mikoro: “So, you don’t believe it’s anything to be concerned about?”

T’zakal: “No. Idle gossip is nothing to fear, despite what those who make their living off such might tell you. I am not, nor have I ever been, some kind of spy for Hephaestus Industries.”

Mikoro: “Right, so, those rumours aside - why do you want to wed the Hegemon?”

T’zakal: “I admire his work greatly. Under Not’zar’s reign, my clan has prospered - in part, as you say, from our relationship with Hephaestus, but also thanks to his shrewd leadership. I want to see that prosperity continue, and to help our nation grow into a power among the stars to be respected.”

Mikoro: “And to your critics? Anything to say?”

T’zakal: “No. Any comments I would have would be far from suitable for broadcast.”

Mikoro: “I see. Well, that’s about our time, Lady T’zakal. Thank you again for meeting with me.”

Our correspondents reached out to Hizoni Razi for an interview, but she was unavailable for comment at this time. With the ongoing contest for the Hegemon’s hand showing no signs of slowing down, remember - for news that you can trust, look no further than Sinta Articles! Sinta news, Spur-wide!

Hegemon Makes His Choice!

Breaking news from Skalamar, as Hegemon Not’zar Izweski has announced that he will marry none other than his own spymistress, Hizoni Razi! While rumours of a relationship between the two have long been speculated about by Bards and many others, this has emerged as a shock to many, after weeks of her silence on the situation.

In a public address in Skalamar today, Hegemon Not’zar addressed the gathered nobility and press, stating that “It has been a long road I have walked, to the Hegemon’s crown. But it is a road I could not have walked without the aid of Hizoni Razi. When my father… through his misdeeds, his death, civil war and all that we have endured as a nation, she has been by my side. To those who came to Skalamar to seek my hand, I have enjoyed all of your company - but in the end, there was only one woman that I could share the Hegemony my ancestors built with. Hizoni, my love - let us be wed in the eyes of Sk’akh, and stand by each other as we lead the Sinta people into the future that is our destiny.”

Shock filled the chamber, equal parts celebration and confusion. For their part, the assembled suitors seemed to take defeat gracefully. Hizoni Razi seemed as shocked as the rest of the chamber for a moment, before she composed herself and rose from her seat to stand by the Hegemon, before offering a few words of her own to her husband-to-be.

“Not’zar, my Hegemon and my love. Since I came here from Ouerea, I have stood by your side and in your shadows, to keep you safe from any who would do you harm. When I became your spymistress, I expected this. But what I did not expect, though I thank Sk’akh each day for it, is that I would fall in love with you. I have seen your kindness and your strength in the time we have spent together - in work of shadows and lies, you are the pillar of truth which I have always depended on. I will marry you, and may the Spur in its entirety be witness to our union.”

Once the excitement had died down somewhat, the Hegemon proceeded to thank and honour his other suitors, presenting them formally with gifts, as well as invitations to the wedding, which will take place in three days’ time. The wedding will be held in the Third Scept of Sk’akh - though the question on many’s minds is who will officiate it. While traditionally, a Hegemonic wedding would be performed by the High Priest of Sk’akh, the position remains absent since the exile of former High Priest Unzi. Will the Church be forced to appoint a new High Priest, or will one of the existing Archpriests take up the duty - and if so, who?

Following the giving of gifts, Hegemon Not’zar made a final address to those assembled.

“My fellow citizens, and faithful vassals. I know as well as you all that the Hegemony faces hard times, and I assure you - I am working, as hard as I can, to bring an end to the strife we face. But this day is a day for celebration, of life and of love. I hope that this wedding will serve as a reminder to us all that, come what may - the Sinta people will endure, and we will thrive.”

A bold statement from our Hegemon, and we can only hope that the spirits guide him to fulfil his promises. With all of Skalamar in a buzz after the announcement, rest assured - we here at Sinta Articles will be providing exclusive coverage of the Hegemonic wedding!

Hegemonic Wedding, Exclusive Coverage!

The day the Hegemony has been waiting for has finally come, as Hegemon Not’zar Izweski, First of his Name, was married earlier today to the honoured Spymistress Hizoni Razi. Within the Third Scept, the wedding was officiated by the Archpriest Koszkahe Oklaal, personal archpriest of the Hegemon. The nobility of the Hegemony travelled from far and wide, each bringing impressive and lavish wedding gifts, whether from their own lands or from the wider Spur. The ceremony was broadcast to the people, with a parade in the streets of Skalamar being cheered by the city’s population, and the wedding being broadcast live across Moghes and Ouerea.

From our accounts, it seems that all of the Hegemon’s suitors attended the wedding, though Overlord Miazso left early after what seemed like a heated confrontation with Lord Sarnac. The Lady Sarnac was seen speaking privately with Spymistress Razi prior to the ceremony, and Ozesh Zuruziir was seen mingling with the delegation from the Confederation of Ouerea, as well as the representatives of the Clan Razi. Azihoa T’zakal and Zsash Hutay’zai were both seen to remain with their own clans for the ceremony.

Also seen was the Hephaestus Guildmaster, Titanius Aeson - largely spending his time with the T’zakal delegation, and offering his heartiest congratulations to Hegemon Not’zar on his marriage. Guildmaster Aeson offered as a wedding gift a Hephaestus ‘Warden’ combat exosuit - the same model that our Hegemon piloted in his fateful duel against S’linzar Ickza seven years ago, though significantly upgraded with heavier armour and weaponry. The Hegemon laughed, and thanked Guildmaster Aeson for his gift. Lord Ickza refused to comment.

A delegation from the K’lax was also present, on behalf of the honourable Zkaii, High Queen of the K’lax and Overlord of Tret. Each of the K’laxan Queens sent one of their Breeders as a representative - however, for the first time since their arrival in the Spur six years ago, one of the Queens themselves made a public appearance - the honoured Queen Ta’Akaix Tupii’maxk’rekxak K’lax, known to the Hive as the Surrogate Queen, arrived in person to congratulate the Hegemon on his marriage. While, in respect for the culture of our trusted Vaurca allies we have not published an image of the Queen’s appearance, she made quite an impressive sight - presenting a detachment of her veteran warriors as a gift to the Hegemon.

Once the gifts had been given, the ceremony began, with Archpriest Oklaal reciting the traditional prayers of marriage - calling upon the Three Heads of Sk’akh to watch over this union, to see it blessed by the Aspect of the Fisher, and to let those in opposition know the Great Spirit’s holy wrath. The Archpriest then went on to call the couple forth, to stand and profess their love before the six eyes of Sk’akh. Hegemon Not’zar and Lady Razi stepped forward and shared vows, as the Archpriest asked them to speak words to bind their souls together.

“Hizoni. Since before I was crowned, you have been there. When you came from Ouerea, I did not know if I could trust you - but then you saved my life, against the Yiztek assassins. Since that day, you have stood in the shadows - guarded me against any and every threat, and been the only one that I have trusted always, with all my heart. Through fire and war and famine, you have been ever by my side - and words cannot express the joy I feel, to know that you will stand with me as long as we live. I swear in the eyes of Sk’akh to love you, to defend your honour with all my strength, and to ever treat you with loyalty and integrity. Should I break this vow, may my soul be cast to the Chained Wastes, and know no respite.”

“Not’zar, my love. When I came to Moghes, I was an outsider. I arrived here in a time of war and chaos, and I have seen you grow into the Hegemon that our people need. You have led this Hegemony through so much, more than any should have asked you to - and it has been my honour to work in the shadows, to ensure your reign. My profession is one of secrets and knives, and deeds done in blackest shadow - but know this, at least, for truth spoken in Sk’akh’s eyes - that I love you, Not’zar Izweski. I swear to help you, love you and honour you, in any ways that I can and to stand beside you as our people claim their destiny among the stars. Should I break this vow, may my soul be cast to the Chained Wastes, and know no respite.”

The two embraced, as the archpriest pronounced the marriage as sealed. It seemed hardly likely that the Hegemon would take the Razi name and, to no surprise, Lady Hizoni took for herself the name of Izweski. This was met with vigorous celebration, which quieted down quickly as the newly-married Hegemon turned to address the assembled highest and mightiest of the Hegemony.

“My friends. My vassals. I would like to thank you all for coming to this day of celebration. You do me, and my wife, honour. We are in hard times, and I promise you that on the morrow, I will be working again to see that our Hegemony not only survives these dark days, but that we emerge from them, stronger than we have ever been! But for this night, and this night alone, let us forget the troubles that await us. This is a day of joy, of celebration, of life and of love - so let us feast! Let us drink! Let us sing of our joys and our loves so loud that the Spur in its entirety hears us!”

The short speech was met with much cheering, as the feasting and drinking began in earnest - see page 11 for full coverage of the feast and its events. Across Skalamar, celebrations were heard - though not without their fair share of disquiet at such feasts being thrown in a time of scarcity. However, the positive sentiment seemed to outweigh the negative, as celebration filled the streets.

To the Hegemon and the Lady Hizoni Izweski, we here at Sinta Articles wish the best of good fortune. May the spirits bless their union.

Akhandi Temples Demand Reparations for Destruction

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

In a surprising announcement today from the city of Mendell, 112 surviving shamans of the Akhandi Temples have demanded reparations from the Sk’akh church for the destruction caused by the Iron Crusade against their temples. The temples, which had stood for thousands of years, were destroyed almost entirely by the Iron Masks during their crusade against other religious groups under the direction of former High Priest Unzi, destroying an unknown amount of history and cultural knowledge that had survived the fires of the Contact War. The Akhandi have set a price to it however, and in total, they are demanding several billion credits over the next decade and an official apology from the church for the destruction wrought during the Iron Crusade.

The announcement has immediately been met with a rush of reactions from the rest of the planet, with Overlord Hutay’zai - the Hegemon’s Master of Rivers, and a devoted follower of Th’akh himself - praising the announcement from the surviving shamans. In a public address from his seat in Kutah, Overlord Hutay’zai declared, "For centuries, those who keep the faith of the spirits have been persecuted. The courage of the wise and honorable shamans of the Akhandi moves me - and to those of the Sk’akh Church who still have honor, I implore you to listen to the words of these Sinta, whom your order has wronged. The Iron Masks dishonored the Akhandi, and all followers of Th’akh - and now you have an opportunity to redeem that vileness.”

However, Overlord Hutay’zai’s position is far from common among the Hegemony’s mightiest. Other nobles, such as Lord Yu’huni of To’ha’dat have dismissed the demands out of hand, saying that the church has no obligation to pay for the decisions made by former members who were already punished by law. In a somewhat eerie silence, the church has not yet responded, not even issuing an outright denial of the Akhandi shamans’ demands. It is unclear when the church will issue its response and what it might say. As always, we will keep our readers updated.

First Hephaestus Aquaculture Center Completed on Ouerea
Prologue to The Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Almost a year after the phoron scarcity first began to truly afflict our great nation, a ray of hope finally begins to shine from the world of Ouerea. Hephaestus Industries proudly announced today the completion of their first Aquaculture center on the coast of the Trizkizki Sea, near the capital of New Skalamar. The new Aquaculture center - named Aquaculture Center 1 - is the first of the 17 planned to be constructed by Hephaestus Industries, with help from all the Hegemonic Guilds.

It was opened with a grand affair managed by the Hephaestus Sector Administrator for the Hegemony, Yukal T’zakal, with the Hephaestus Director of Personnel, Brizio de Moze also in attendance. Titanus Aeson was sadly unable to attend but sent his congratulations to both T’zakal and all the workers who helped in the construction of the center. It is believed that once fully operational, each Aquaculture Center will be able to produce two hundred million tons of protein-based foodstuffs every year. Once all centers are fully operational, the numbers add up to around four billion tons of foodstuffs a year. While this is a great success for the Hegemony, it is still a far cry from the believed 6 to 8 billion tons of foodstuffs believed by scholars to have been produced on Moghes prior to the Contact War. Still, Master of River’s Hutay’zai and Hegemon Not’zar assure people that this will be enough to stave off the famine currently threatening the nation.

However, not all are happy with this new beacon of hope. Many groups on Ouerea, still resentful of Hephaestus after the Ouerean Revolution, have condemned the company once again being invited onto the planet and promised to take organized action against it. The most vocal among these groups are environmentalists, who claim that these Aquaculture centers will cause irreparable damage to the ocean environments of Ouerea, causing a mass die-off of natural fish and threatening the livelihoods of the fisherman who work on the sea. Hephaestus has denied these claims, with several well-educated human scientists submitting reports that no ecological or environmental damage will result from the Aquaculture Centers. It is unclear exactly what these groups hope to accomplish by taking action against the food salvation of our Hegemony, or how they plan to do it. We will keep our readers updated on any situations regarding this new Ouerea.

Hephaestus Documents leaked; Protests and Rioting erupt on Ouerea
Article 1 of the Titan Rises

Yesterday morning, a day after the compilation of Hephaestus’s first Aquaculture Center, an unidentified leaker released what many believe to be classified Hephaestus documents onto the platform known as “64-tan”. These alleged classified documents reveal an inside report commissioned by Hephaestus Industries to theorize about the potential environmental and ecological damage to the Trizkizki Sea. The conclusion was that within the next decade, pollution from the Aquaculture centers, and the mass fishing to populate them will result in a downward ecological spiral that will eventually leave the Trizkizki Sea a disaster, bare of almost all complex life. Hephaestus has denied that these documents are real, stating that they were forged by those who wish to hurt the company and its reputation and have given the press access to several similar real classified documents, reports, and papers that show the Aquaculture centers will not adversely affect the ecology or environment of the Trizkizki Sea.

Still, these forged documents have taken Ouerea by storm, being shared across the planet, and have resulted in an increase in civil unrest. Watchmen across the planet have reported spontaneous protests outside of Hephaestus facilities, some of which have begun to devolve into riots. Hephaestus Security personnel have been coordinating with the Watchmen to ensure as little damage is done to Hephaestus facilities and the surrounding area; dozens have already been arrested for inciting riots in an attempt to keep the protests peaceful. The biggest protests have occurred outside of Aquaculture Centers 2 and 3, which are still under construction, where Hephaestus Security forces estimate a crowd of fifteen thousand at each site have gathered to protest the construction of further Aquaculture Centers. While these crowds have remained mostly peaceful, there have been some instances of violence as individuals attempt to block workers and materials from entering the construction sites, or have attempted to forcefully enter the construction site. Hephaestus' security forces have however managed to keep the violence to a minimum, and only a handful of rioters have been injured in the past day; before being detained and handed over to the watchmen for their crimes.

While these protests and riots rage on Ouerea, the situation is much different on Moghes. Many of the nobility have condemned the protestors and rioters, saying that they are endangering the future of the Unathi species by opposing the only solution to the rationing and specter of famine hanging over the Hegemony. Social Media networks such as Chirper have been flooded with support for Hephaestus by those from all walks of life across Moghes, who see what the guild is doing as necessary. A minority who attempted to form a protest outside the Hephaestus Branch Office in Skalamar found themselves quickly confronted by counter-protesters, peasantry mostly from Moghes who had come to seek a job with the guild, which quickly descended into a brawl. Watchmen intervened within minutes, and injuries were reported to be minimal. No arrests were made, and the crowd was simply ordered to disperse.

We will keep our readers updated on this situation as it develops.

Rioting on Ouerea enters 3rd Day, Izweski & Hutay’zai Bannermen deployed to reinforce Watchmen

Article 2 of the Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

After the release of supposedly classified Hephaestus documents late last week, Ouerea devolved into a scene of protesting and rioting that has now entered its third day. Watchmen have been working around the clock to keep those protests still peaceful peaceful, but it now seems they have been unable to deal with approximately 1/5th of Ouereas entire population joining into the riots. The biggest story coming from the planet has been the destruction of the K’rath City Center and palaces. Rioters entered the district early yesterday morning and began to set alight the buildings of Izweski governance and the houses of the upper classes who lived in the area. Watchmen and the population of the district had been preemptively evacuated to New Skalamar, where the planetary government is trying to consolidate its position. A curfew has been put in place planetwide but does not seem to be having an effect, and more areas are falling to the anarchy of rioters as the day progress. The current estimated total of deaths caused by the riots stands at around 59, with many more injured.

However, the Hegemony as a whole has been looking to the planet with interest, and now that it is clear that planetary law enforcement alone will be unable to quell the riots, the Hegemon himself has stepped in. High Speaker Sarnac announced this morning that it is the Hegemon’s will that these riots be pacified so that the construction of the aquaculture farms which may save the Hegemony can continue uninterrupted. To that end, Clan Izweski and the Clan Hutay’zai will begin to deploy their bannermen with the assistance of many Kataphract chapters to the planet, taking over riot control responsibilities from local law enforcement under the command of Overlord Zik'san. Hegemon Not’zar has also met with the Grand Council of Ouerea, and Overlord Zik'san to help find a resolution to these disastrous riots.

For now, we know that a new curfew will be put in place at a local time of 8 pm, enforced by Izweski and Hutay’zai bannermen and that any outside during this time requires solid reasoning. Overlord Zik'san has ordered all non-essential businesses shuttered, and encouraged the population to remain in their homes unless absolutely necessary until the situation is resolved. We have attempted to reach out to all nobles involved in this development, but have been told they are too busy to give comments for the time being.

We will keep our readers appraised.

Ouerean Riots pacified, Hutay’zai Bannermen to withdraw, replaced by K’lax warriors, Izweski Bannermen to remain for time being; Nobles give statements.
Article 3 of the Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

After 2 long days the last of the Ouerean Riots have been pacified, thanks to the help of the noble bannermen who answered the calls of their clans to assist local watchmen. Finally able to wake up to a peaceful morning free of fires and the aftermath of riots, the Ouerean people celebrated once again being able to return to work now that non-essential businesses may reopen. Watchmen still stand on increased alert, as do the Bannermen, and curfews remain in place, but the situation appears to have stablized. The cost of the riots was immense on the planet, with estimates saying that over 2 billion credits worth of property were damaged while riots gripped the city, including most of the rebuilt government buildings in the cities of Kr’ath, Z’ek, and Um’a’yid. Governmental power around the Trizkizki Sea is now concentrated in New Skalamar, which has avoided much of the destruction due to the deployment of Izweski and Hutay’zai bannermen to the spaceport located within it. The death toll has risen to over 1000 dead, 10 of which are believed to be watchmen or bannermen deployed to help quell the rioting, while injuries are in the thousands. House of Medicine hospitals located on the planet have been overwhelmed, and have requested support from the local branch of the Interstellar Aid Corps to assist in dealing with the aftermath; the Interstellar Aid Corps has responded saying that they will assist. Meanwhile the Construction Coalition has taken on many contracts to rebuild the areas devastated by the rioting, being paid from clan Zik'san’s own pocket, as the overlord shows his care for the planet.

Now that the situation has quieted down, Sinta Articles has had many of it’s requests for statements answered by the many nobles we petitioned earlier in the week. The first to answer was Overlord Zik'san, who had this to say when asked about his thoughts on the rioting:

“Ouerean democracy and the freedom of our society is something unique within our Hegemony, and shows the level of trust the Hegemon has in the people of this planet. Those who participated in the rioting betrayed this trust, and threatened not only our planet but the very system that benefits us all. I thank the Hegemon for his timely intervention, and the great spirit for giving him the wisdom that would allow this Ouerean political experiment to continue.”

Chieftess Ozesh Zuruziir

“I cannot say that I am satisfied to see this rioting and destruction brought to an end. Satisfaction would come if it had never taken place. While the freedom that we all enjoy on Ouerea is a great gift, these recent events have been a sobering reminder of the price of such things. I cannot condemn these rioters wholeheartedly - they are victims of a campaign of lies, to incite our people to violence. I am grateful to the Hegemon for his intervention, and ashamed that the situation has come to the point where it was needed. Our world is a grand experiment in self-rule, and we must live up to that promise by showing that we are capable of ruling ourselves, and not burning our own cities at the slightest provocation. We all must do better in the future - Sinta, Skrell and humans alike - to rise above our basest instincts, and to improve and protect this world that we all share.”

Overlord Hutay’zai:

“We must all remember the place the spirits ordained for us in this life, and not look beyond our station. Ouerea is a different world with a different culture to my own, however many of its people are still Sinta, who must not let their passions against a guild such as Hephaestus sway them into endangering the good of all who follow the Hegemon. These riots were a travesty, and it is only by the will of the spirits that they did not cause lasting damage to the aquaculture projects.”

Guildmaster Titanitus Aeson:

“Our relationship with the people of Ouerea has always been a rocky one, we have had many difficulties in the past and I had hoped that the aquaculture endeavors would mark a new dawn in our relations. However, it is folly to believe that all will see the common good, and there will be those that resist. I do not blame the rioters directly for this travesty, they were taken advantage of by liars and cheats who wished to harm my guild, their only sin was trusting those who they should have not. Hepheastus will do whatever is asked of it by the Hegemony to help track down those who misled the people thereby inflaming these riots so that they may be brought to justice.”

Hegemon Not’zar(via High Speaker Seleta Sarnac):

“I[The Hegemon] am saddened that once again Ouerea has proved to be a tinderbox waiting to spark at the mildest of embers, even lies. It brings me great shame that I have had to return to the planet twice in the past decade to deal with this, and I will be working with the Grand Council and Overlord Zik’san to ensure I do not have to again.”

In other news, Hutay’zai bannermen have been seen leaving Ouerea, being slowly replaced by warriors of the K’lax hive to continue enforcing curfew, keeping the peace while the watchmen reorganize themselves. It is expected that both Izweski Bannermen and K’lax warriors will remain on the planet until the watch is once again able to keep the peace themselves, which may be weeks.

It seems, at least for now, that this new bloody chapter in Ouerea’s history has been closed.

Church of Sk’akh gridlocked; paralyzed by Th’akh Demands?

Article 2 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Almost a week has passed since over a hundred surviving shamans from the Akhandi Temples announced a demand for reparations from the Sk’akh church to pay for the destruction wrought by the Iron Crusade five years ago. The church still has yet to issue a response to these demands, the four current Archpriests having met in the city of Skalamar to discuss this development several days ago.

Our confidential sources inside the Third Scept tell us that it appears the church appears to be gridlocked as a result of these demands, unable to make a decision to even begin proper discussions on the subject without a High Priest to direct it. The exile of High Priest Unzi marks the first time that the Church has been without a High Priest in centuries, with the last known instance having occurred at the height of the Second Hegemony. For centuries, the church has not had to face a situation such as this, and according to our sources, was woefully unprepared to make decisions on such a large scale - with the conclave of Archpriests having allegedly devolved into vicious argument on the demands of the shamans. Our sources report that the Hegemon’s own Archpriest attempted to guide the discussion, but was met with angered shouting from his fellows, as they could not reach consensus on the matter of the demands. It is still unclear whether or not the church will have a response any time soon, but it seems that as of now the Archpriests are unable to reach a conclusion on the matter.

According to our sources, Archpriest Koszkahe Oklaal, personal Archpriest to the Hegemon himself, raised an even wilder proposition to his fellows - putting his own name forward to be elevated to the position of High Priest. Since the exile of High Priest Unzi, the position has existed in limbo, with many fierce debates being held on the matter - he was not formally stripped of his title, and he has not been confirmed dead. Given that, many among the Sk’akh faithful believe that Unzi is still the High Priest, and will remain such until his death or formal excommunication by the archpriests. The chamber erupted in outrage, with the Archpriest of the Southlands calling Archpriest Oklaal a ‘power-hungry and honorless spawn of the Chained Wastes’. At this point the conversation became increasingly agitated, though we do not have much information on what words may have been exchanged following the insult to Archpriest Oklaal’s person.

Archpriest Oklaal was seen leaving the Third Scept later that same day, seemingly in a state of anger. While we can only speculate as to what else may have transpired within the Third Scept, it seems that the Archpriests have yet to reach any kind of consensus. As always, we will keep our readers updated on this story as it develops.

Merchant’s Guild Declares Bankruptcy, Hegemonic Economy in Danger?

Article 4 of the Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Breaking news today, as the Merchant’s Guild, long thought of as the most successful and richest of all the guilds has declared Bankruptcy, citing difficulties finding customers for their goods in the midst of a galactic recession. The guilds have been reeling from this statement, as nearly all rely in some way on the Merchant’s guild for the transportation of goods either into or out of the Hegemony. It is still unclear exactly what effects this will have on the Hegemonic Economy, but there has been a sense of panic in nearly all guildhalls across Moghes, as high-ranking guildsmen attempt to figure out how to deal with this development.

The only guild not immediately affected seems to be Hephaestus, who has the spur-spanning infrastructure to ride out this shock. They have even gone so far as to state they will not cease their business in the Hegemony and will assist the other guilds if necessary to keep the Hegemonic economy solvent. It is unknown exactly how Hephaestus Industries plans to do this, but the statement has been taken as a sign of hope in these dark times.

The Merchants’ Guild is responsible for almost all of the exports which the Hegemonic economy relies on, being the only guild besides Hephaestus to have a charter that allows them to trade with the outside spur. As many corporations have already ceased trade with our Guilds, this lack of exports might be the final push that sees the economy enter into a freefall.

We expect to hear more on this developing story within the coming days.

Guilds begin massive lay-offs, attempt to remain solvent as economy continues to freefall

Article 5 of the Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Following up on our story from Saturday, many further guilds have announced cutbacks in personnel and operations as they attempt to remain solvent in the face of the Merchant’s Guild bankruptcy. Mass lay-offs have become common for all guilds as contracts are canceled, or do not come in to begin with.

The response to this situation has been one of outrage, with protests from laid-off guildsmen seen across the Hegemony. Several hundred workers on remote stations of the Miners’ Guild were informed that their facilities were being shut down, and many communities bordering the Wasteland are forced to cope as the House of Medicine closes dozens of its clinics across the planet. In Jaz’zirt, Overlord Miazso struggles to keep order as unemployed guildsmen march in the streets, waving the banner of the organization known as the Hearts of Industry. Our sources in the region have informed us that some of these guildsmen have occupied guild-owned buildings and workplaces, and are refusing to allow remaining workers access until their jobs are reinstated.

Hephaestus Industries has been quick to take advantage of this, hiring many of the laid-off workers to their own guild, allowing their continued employment and the growth of the company. Many senior guildsmen have accused Hephaestus of profiteering from the crisis rather than truly assisting Moghes, however, Hephaestus has responded by stating there is no better way to help the Hegemony than to ensure employment for its citizens. Hephaestus’s personnel in the Hegemony is expected to increase by 48% by the next week, should the current rate of hiring remain steady, becoming the Hegemony’s biggest employer. It is unclear if their profits will increase commensurate with this jump in the workforce, but given Hephaetsus’s culture about the purchase of company stock, that would not be off the table.

Hegemon Not’zar has yet to make a formal statement on this economic crisis - however, he did inform Sinta Articles that Overlord Hutay’zai and many guild masters will be meeting to discuss possibilities to exit this crisis with minimal damage to the economy.

While we guildsmen of the Keepers of Heirlooms suffer from this crisis too, and several of our chapters have had to lay off guildsmen - rest assured that we at Sinta Articles remain committed to keeping our readers up to date on this crisis as it unfolds.

Hutay’zai condemns the Hegemon; claims they will sell out Hegemony to Alien Corporations

Article 6 of the Titan Rises

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

A shocking announcement has made waves across Moghes today, as Overlord Hutay’zai has condemned the Hegemon himself in a fiery speech given at his estate, claiming the Izweski will sell out the Hegemony and the guilds to alien corporations. The Overlord has stressed that the reason for this condemnation is that such a course of action is not necessary to preserve the Hegemony, and if it were, he would endorse it. He instead mainly accused the Hegemon of being unaware of all the facts, and not taking reasonable time to ensure he had the full picture before coming to a decision.

The Overlord has however not even mentioned how the Hegemon plans to do this, and when asked has refused to answer. Many have speculated that this means the Overlord has no real proof of these allegations, turning their view of him jaded as he may be lying. The response from the Hegemon, or more accurately High Speaker Sarnac’s office has not been what many were expecting; expressing sympathy for the Overlord and his views, saying that he is being misled, and hoping for a peaceful resolution; rather than harsh words and threats of violence.

Worryingly, while the Overlord does not appear to be brewing thoughts of violence, the same cannot be said for Lord Izaku of Mudki, who has said that if this accusation can be proven, he will consider his oaths to the Hegemon void - effectively rebelling. The Hegemon has not deigned to answer such threats at this time - but based on his past actions, it is a safe assumption that he will not tolerate such action.

Many are listening to Overlord Hutay’zai’s words, however, whether he is correct or not. The protests in Jaz’zirt continue, as members of the Hearts of Industry view this statement as confirmation that the Hegemon intends to sell Moghes to alien powers piece by piece. While we do not have a full picture of the situation in the Southlands at this time, rumors abound that Overlord Miazso’s personal forces have become insufficient to keep order in his city, and that he is calling up his bannermen to quash these rioters by whatever means necessary.

As the economic crisis continues, we regret to inform our loyal readers that difficulties in our guild’s budget mean that print publication of Sinta Articles will be ceasing until further notice. Our articles both old and new can still be accessed through our Extranet page, as well as live updates on the situation as it develops. We remain committed to providing our readers with accurate and timely news through these trying times.

Aeson and Not’zar announce: Hephaestus alien no longer, name Yukal T’zakal Hephaestus Guildmaster

Article 1 of the Titan Rises Finale

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Following the announcement mere hours ago by Overlord Hutay’zai, there has been very little interest coming from either the Izweski or the Hutay’zai, despite the avid interests of bards and reporters from across the planet, and even across the spur. However now, all of that has changed.

Guildmaster Titanius Aeson and Hegemon Not’zar stood on the steps of the Izweski citadel today to give a momentous announcement. Yukal T’zakal, long time sector administrator for the Hegemony within Hephaestus Industries will be assuming the role of Guildmaster, working alongside Aeson himself to manage Hephaestus’s operations.

In a public press conference, Titanius Aeson explained the changes, and the reasoning behind them. Video footage of this conference is available on our Extranet page. Guildmaster Aeson emerged, alongside Yukal T’zakal, declaring that “Since our two species met, Hephaestus Industries has found kindred spirits in the Sinta’Unathi people. A people who embody our corporation’s commitment to the value of hard work. To doing what you have to do, and doing it right - and I think it is for those reasons that we have worked so well together over the years. Where others saw this planet and its people as nothing more than cheap labor, Hephaestus saw a people who share our values - our values of diligence, of hard work, of being the anvil on which the world is shaped. In truth, in many ways - the Hegemony has become as much of a home to Hephaestus as any human world out there. But, people are still scared. They still see us as aliens, and I can’t say I don’t get it. If Hephaestus is here to stay - and rest assured, we are - we can’t be that any more. The Unathi people have been a bedrock to Hephaestus through these recent years, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that a bond like this always goes two ways. You’ve changed for us, since we arrived here - now it’s time that we change for you. That’s why, effective immediately, I will be resigning my position as Guildmaster of Hephaestus Industries.”

The crowd was shocked to hear this, but quickly paused to listen as Aeson raised a hand, indicating more to say.

“I will be staying on as CEO, and helping to steer the company that I love into the future - but the position of Guildmaster is separate from that. It always has been, since our charter was first granted by your Hegemon to us all those years ago. A separate position of equal authority and responsibility to myself, above the board of directors - responsible for managing operations here, in the Hegemony has always existed. In the past I have merely held both titles. We’re a hybrid, Hephaestus - both a human corporation and an Unathi guild - and we need both points of view, in equal balance. And there is no better man I can think of to take this role than my dear friend, Yukal T’zakal. Look around you! Everything Hephaestus has built in the Hegemony, this man’s work was at the heart of it. I may be stepping back from my management here, but rest assured - I look forward to guiding Hephaestus into the future, as I have done - now standing at the side of my dear friend. There’s more to come, of course - but that can wait. For now, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart - and goodnight.”

The announcement has been met with shock and celebration across Moghes, as our people celebrate the achievements of one of our own in the spur. A Hephaestus advertising campaign titled “Alien no longer” has been launched across the Hegemony, a picture of T’zakal in his new guildmaster uniform, standing above a crowd of Unathi and Vaurca Hephaestus workers. The campaign has been met with stunning support, even from those who are traditionally opposed to Hephaestus, such as Overlord Hutay’zai’s who has endorsed this move, somewhat delayed, for unclear reasons. Many are speculating that the Overlord is still unhappy with this solution, though sees it as necessary to save the Hegemonic Economy. Though, even he cannot deny what a proud achievement this is for our species. We await with eager anticipation to see what was meant by more being to come.

Hephaestus grows; bails out Hegemonic Guilds and reorganizes them under itself

Article 2 of the Titan Rises Finale

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

“And to survive, one must adapt, for change is the only assurance of life.”

- Lord Tuscacun, Commander of Izweski Military Forces at the beginning of the Contact War.

Sinta Articles is proud to publish our first article as a Hephaestus Subsidiary Corporation!

Following the ascension of Yukal T’zakal to Guildmaster of Hephaestus, the corporation quickly moved to ensure the survival of all other Hegemonic guilds, by paying off any debts and ensuring transportation - before reorganizing them under itself in order to ensure long-term economic stability.

Now, all guildsmen of the Hegemony can call themselves Hephaestus employees, directly or indirectly, as the Guilds have become subsidiary corporations of Hephaestus. Many of us have not seen such a thing ever, so we at Sinta Articles have taken it upon ourselves to explain the situation.

The main thing to note is that all of the guilds will not become a firm part of Hephaestus Industries directly. Individual Guild Charters will remain in force, as per the laws of the Hegemon. In the rest of the spur, there are things such as subsidiary companies, which essentially operate as our nobles and Hegemon do. The Parent Company(Hephaestus), may rule over many smaller companies, subsidiary companies, like how the Hegemon rules over his nobles. Hephaestus will allow the Guilds to run themselves in a similar way to how they did before, just now under a bigger umbrella.

What this means for the guilds is that Hephaestus will look after them, ensuring that they are held up to Hephaestus standards in all regards, working side by side towards their own goals, and the goals of the parent corporation. Guilds will therefore still be free to pursue their own goals under their own leadership, instead of being fully absorbed as part of Hephaestus. However, guildsmen will be reaping the full benefits of being a Hephaestus Employee if they are not already employed by another megacorporation under contract from their guild, including healthcare plans, pensions, time off, and paid vacation time.

Still, as part of this expansion, some reorganization is required. Guildmaster T’zakal has announced a period of rebuilding in the coming months, as the Guilds adapt to their new positions and work with each other to ensure economic stability for all. Guildsmen will be introduced to their new rights and privileges, as well as the culture of Hephaestus Industries, in order to bring about a more unified economy that will be able to withstand any potential future shocks the like of the phoron scarcity. The Guildmasters will as well be undergoing new training, and changing the structure of their guilds to better suit a modern Spur, rather than a single-nation economy. Guildmaster T’zakal is reported to be excited about this new incorporation, as he states:

“This will allow the Hegemony and all Unathi to ascend to riches only ever dreamed of before. We shall cement ourselves as one of the great nation-states of the spur, and a cornerstone of its economy.”

This change, to some, appears to be a vindication for Overlord Hutay’zai’s claims of the Hegemony being sold out to aliens - even following Hephaestus Industries’ efforts to avoid this by placing an Unathi in an executive position - a first for any of the human corporations. The protests in the Southlands continue still, with Overlord Miazso having pledged to take whatever measures necessary to restore order. The Overlord himself has yet to comment on this occurrence. The office of the Hegemon, too, has remained silent, with High Speaker Sarnac unavailable for comment when our correspondent attempted to reach her.

As the Keepers of Heirlooms are integrated as a Hephaestus subsidiary, many of our loyal readers may be concerned about what this means for the future of Sinta Articles. Rest assured that our core values have not changed - providing our readers with timely, informative, and accurate news. Thanks to the efforts of Guildmaster T’zakal, and to all of our hard-working guildsmen, we will continue to keep our readers updated on Sinta news, Spur-wide.

Hegemon meets with Archpriests of the Sk’akh Church

Article 3 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

From Skamander today, it was announced by High Speaker Seleta Sarnac that the Hegemon met with the four Archpriests of the Sk’akh church today at the Izweski keep, once besieged by the former highpriest of the church, the heretic Unzi. While no details have been released as for the purpose of the meeting, or what ended up being discussed, it has been reported that the Archpriests left the Izweski Keep looking pleased, and discussing amongst themselves - a far cry from last week’s arguments. Perhaps Hegemon Not’zar, in his wisdom, has managed to get the priests to agree on the matter. One of our reporters on the scene attempted to reach the Archpriests for comment, but was denied. Nominally there should be six arch-priests of the Hegemony, one for each Overlord and one for the Hegemon himself - but due to Overlord Hutay’zai’s Th’akh faith, and the Overlord of Tret being a Vaurca Queen, there are currently only four. While the nature of the meeting is unknown, speculation abounds, with some believing that the Hegemon may have finally approved the elevation of a new High Priest.

The entire nation and Sinta beyond have been watching with tension over the past few weeks as the Church struggles to respond to the demands of surviving shamans from the Akhandi Temples, who demanded reparations for their destruction from the church several weeks ago. Since then the church has still yet to make an official statement, or even publicly acknowledge the existence of the demands. As the scarcity rages and the Spur falls deeper into decline, all eyes are still on Moghes, watching this procession with an air of tension. Some believe that acquiescing to the shamans’ demands will be the first step in mending the often bloody history between the Sk’akh Church and the Th’akh faithful - while others believe that this is nothing more than an attempt at undermining the already weakened church to line the shamans’ pockets in far-off Biesel.

Since the banishment of Unzi, these Archpriests have been the highest-ranking members of the church, making small decisions by consensus between them in his absence. This fact is reportedly severely limiting to the church, with decisions taking weeks or sometimes months to be made as theological debates rage between the Archpriests over the smallest things. Unzi’s status has also been in dispute, with some of the church still viewing him as the current High Priest despite his exile, as his title was never officially stripped. Others are adamant that due to his exile Unzi cannot be the High Priest of the Church of Sk’akh, and another must be appointed so that the church does not fall inwards on itself. The Hegemon’s position still remains unclear, but we expect official announcements to come in the following weeks. As always, we will keep our readers updated on this story as it develops. Solarian Ambassador on Moghes meets with Hegemon, Lord-Admiral Yizarus; extradition discussed

Today the Hegemon, together with his wife Spymaster Razi and Lord-Admiral Yizarus attended a small function stated to be with other nobles of the Hegemony, to discuss the current affairs of the realm in a relaxed setting. However, reporters working on behalf of the Keeper’s outside the Izweski Citadel where it was to be held noticed that very few official vehicles and noble retinues arrived at the gate but took notice when a diplomatic car from the Solarian Embassy entered the Citadel. While the windows were tinted, reporters believe the occupant of the car was the charge-de-affairs of the Solarian embassy, the highest-ranking Solarian diplomat left within the Hegemony after a general recall due to the collapse of their government about three years ago.

A source close to the Hegemon has stated that the real purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of extraditing several Unathi Pirates who were captured by the Southern Solarian Reconstruction Mandate, a Solarian designated mandate within the human wildlands some days ago. Among the pirates is rumored to be Guwan Sitraz, a former member of our navy who fled the Hegemony after dishonoring the Izweski clan by murdering unarmed combatants and civilians attempting to surrender to his men. His location has been unknown since 2458 when after being ordered by the Hegemon to return to Moghes to face judgment, he fled into the frontier. He has since been suspected to be behind several pirate organizations within the Sparring Sea and Badlands but has never been positively located by any organization. It now appears that due to the work of the Solarian Interstellar Intelligence Bureau and other Solarian intelligence clans, he may finally face the Hegemon's justice.

While we hope that Sitraz and the other pirates can be brought back to Moghes to face the Hegemon’s justice, it is unclear how extradition may work. As a mandate, now totally under the control of Sol, the SSRM may wish to try the criminals themselves or return them to the interim Solarian Government for trial. We presume that this was the center of the conversation with the Citadel, as the diplomat and Hegemon spoke for at least several hours. We will keep our readers appraised as this story develops.

Not’zar Announces Workers Reform; a new dawn for the Peasantry?

Article 2 of the Titan Rises Epilogue

Translated into Tau Ceti Basic

Following the sweeping changes of the past week, Hegemon Not’zar announced that there were more to come. Very little information was given, only that it would involve work reform in the aftermath of Hephaestus’s acquisitions.  After hours of anxious waiting for a press conference, High Speaker Seleta Sarnac ascended to the podium within the Izweski Citadel, and once the room was quiet enough, began to speak.

“Hello. As you all know, the past month has been a tumultuous time for our nation. We barely averted disaster thanks to the help of our friends, a second time in as many years. We are forever grateful to the Hephaestus Guild, and look forward to this new dawn in our relationship.”

She pauses for a brief moment.

“However, change begets change. Our systems were proven to be weak, and we must adapt fully in order to become strong again. With that said, the Hegemon is introducing a new set of laws to reform the guild system, and how it interacts with Guildsmen. Firstly, all guildsmen will have dedicated paid sick leave, should they require it, with a usable amount of 7 days per year. Additionally, Guildsmen will only be required to work 6 days of the week, rather than 7, without extra pay. Lastly, the Guilds are responsible for all injuries that occur while a guildsmen is working for the guild.”

The announcement was greeted with applause, before the High Speaker stated she would not be taking questions, and exited. It has been pointed out by many, but Sinta Articles is proud to announce that these new laws are almost exactly the same as those used by Hephaestus Industries for its own workplace conduct! Truly the Hegemon is intelligent for using a proven model.

Hegemon Accepts Southern Provisional Governments terms for extradition, Lord-Admiral Yizarus leaves for Sankt Frederick

Over the past few days since the announcement by the Southern Solarian Reconstruction Mandate, the Charge-de-affairs of the Solarian embassy has been seen entering and leaving the Izweski Citadel, sometimes multiple times a day. It has been believed that the Hegemon is negotiating with the Solarian Government for better conditions regarding the extradition of the Guwan Sitraz and other pirate scum captured by one of their reconstruction mandates so recently. Today, our speculation came to an end, however, as High Speaker Seleta Sarnac called a press conference in the evening. Our reporters were there and captured her opening statement.

Quote

“Greetings. I am pleased to announce that our Hegemon has accepted a set of revised conditions presented by a Solarian Diplomat this afternoon, in regards to the extradition of several Unathi criminals. I ask that you hold all questions until I have informed you of all new conditions. The Hegemony has agreed in full to the condition that the trials of the pirates take place on the world which they are currently held, and accept the local government's offer to hold a small former consulate under the banner of the Izweski Hegemony for the time of the trial and punishment. The Hegemony has also fully agreed to try the pirates with the assistance of a Solarian Judge for their crimes committed in Solarian Territory. We however will be trying two pirates of our choosing, in addition to the guwan Sitraz. In addition, we will be taking up the local government's offer to have a Hegemonic Lord observe the trials of the remaining pirates, as well as offer advice to the presiding Judge. The Hegemony has also requested that the maximum sentence for the crimes of the pirates be execution by firing squad, rather than cyborgification, which the local government has accepted.”

Seleta pauses for a moment, keeping her hand up to forestall questions.

“To these ends, Lord-Admiral Yizarus has been dispatched to the planet of Sankt Frederick, where he will act in our Hegemon’s stead as the presiding judge for the criminals we prosecute. He has taken one of our quickest ships and is expected to be there by the end of the week. I now open the floor to questions.”

Very few questions of any substance were asked by the members of the press attendant, due to the skillful delivery of the High Speaker. Our journalists held off on asking further questions. We pray the spirits are with Lord Admiral Yizarus on his journey, and that he may extract the Hegemon’s justice by word of mouth and strength of claw.

Church breaks its silence; Court Shaman Calls for Overlord to Rise to his Station

Article 4 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

Today the Church of Sk’akh has finally broken its silence, issuing its first statement since the demands of the shamans were made several weeks ago. The statement informed the shamans and the general public that due to the lack of a current High Priest and debates stalling between the Archpriests of the faith, that they can currently not give any answer to the shamans in response to their demands. After discussions with the Hegemon, a solution has been found. During a press conference earlier today, Archpriest Oklaal announced that the four current Archpriests will hold a vote in several weeks time to determine the course of action for the church, after all arguments are heard from representatives of the shamans. On the steps of the Third Scept, before a crowd of onlookers and bards, the Hegemon’s Archpriest proclaimed “Since the loss of our High Priest, my brothers and I have managed the best that we can - but the truth is that the Church is leaderless. We have discussed and debated at length the demands of the honorable Akhandi shamans - and while we have no answer yet, we shall soon. In two weeks’ time, the Archpriests will gather here in Skalamar, and vote on the matter of these reparations. It has been a long and hard road for all of us to walk - but I promise each of you, the Three Heads of Sk’akh watch over us. With faith and perseverance, and the Great Spirit’s guidance, our church can overcome any obstacle. Sk’akh bless us all.”

The announcement has called a flurry of activity across the Hegemony, but no more than in the Tza Prairie, historic heartland of the Th’akh faith itself, with Overlord Hutay’zai’s court shaman, Roeruz publically calling for the Overlord to rise to his station and appoint an Archpriest for their brother faith. In response, Hutay’zai issued a public statement - starkly different to his usual calm and prepared speeches. In a televised broadcast from Kutah, the Overlord declared “Those who ask this of me, they understand nothing! I am Th’akh, my father and my mother Th’akh, my ancestors for ten thousand years Th’akh! You would ask me to stand here and bow, kissing the rings of those Archpriests in Skalamar, and grant my blessing to their grip on our nation? No! By mine and all of your spirits, no! My bones will be dust in the waste, my honor and my clan’s forgotten, before I acknowledge that pack of shriekers sitting in the Scept! Let them argue until the world ends, for all I care!” This outburst shocked the onlookers - and while the Church has yet to issue an official response to the Overlord’s words, many are calling for them to denounce him, or even for the Hegemon to act.

While he has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, our sources inform us that the Hegemon has summoned Overlord Hutay’zai to the capital to speak with him in two days’ time. . We will keep our readers updated, as ever - and may the spirits guide our nation in these troubled times.

Hutay’zai’s Shocking Change of Heart: A New Archpriest for Sk’akh?

Article 5 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

Several days after being summoned to the capital by the Hegemon, Overlord Hutay’zai has released a new statement regarding his role in selecting an Archpriest for the church. In a dramatic change of heart, the Overlord has affirmed that he will appoint a new Archpriest to the Church of Sk’akh as is his right by law, stating that “My recent words were those of anger, unfit for one of my position. I offer my apologies to the Church, and to those who my words may have offended. I feel the pain that our brother faith is struggling with - and I will do my part to end it. While I will not pretend to be a follower of Sk’akh, I recognise those that are within my domain - and they deserve a voice within their faith. As such, I will name an Archpriest, as is my right under the law. The honored priest Roeruz is known by followers of Sk’akh as a man of determination, resilience, and honor - and as such, he will be named as my own Archpriest. May the spirits guide him well.”. It is unclear what caused this change, but most agree that it had to be the intervention of Hegemon Not’zar himself during their recent meeting that pushed the Overlord to appoint an Archpriest to the church.

The goals of the Hegemon seem to be to resolve the stalemate set within the Church, and allow for decisions to once again be made by the Church. Overlord Hutay’zai has appointed Akale Roeruz, one of the few Sk’akh priests within the Tza Prairie to the position of Archpriest. Roeruz is known to be a devout member of the clergy, who has attempted to bring the light of the Great Spirit into the Tza Prairie for most of their life - albeit with little success. He thanked the overlord for the opportunity in a prepared statement delivered to many bards across Moghes, stating that “While we may not share a faith, the honored Overlord Hutay’zai and I are both men of Tza - men who understand the value of perseverance and determination above all else. I thank him for this appointment, and I assure all the faithful of the Prairie that I will still be here, working to spread Sk’akh’s blessings. May the Three Heads watch over Overlord Hutay’zai - and all of us.”.

Sadly, we were not able to conduct an extended interview with the new Archpriest as he quickly left for the capital, eager to get to work in his new position. With a new Archpriest appointed, it seems that the Church’s deadlock may soon be over - but the question of how they will rule on the demands of the Akhandi remains to be answered.

Inauguration for Archpriest Roeruz, Stalemate Promised to be Set to Rest
Article 6 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

Bells of celebration were sounded from the Third Scept today, as Roeruz, newly appointed Archpriest of the Tza Prairie, was sworn in as the newest Archpriest of the Sk’akh Church. The Scept was packed with the faithful of Skalamar, as well as bards from across the Hegemony and beyond, all watching this historic day for themselves. In contrast to the divided appearance they have had recently, today the Archpriests appeared united, with all four of them standing in the traditional position of the High Priest, to welcome their new brother to the fold.

Archpriest Roeruz approached the four Archpriests, kneeling before them. While the Archpriests wore the finest of ceremonial robes, Roeruz appeared humbly, dressed in the simple robes of a traveler. The oath that he swore before them is the same oath that centuries of Archpriests have sworn before him - to stand with pride and honor beneath the six eyes of Sk’akh. To spread the light of the Great Spirit to every corner of Moghes, no matter how distant and barren it may be. To guide the spirits of the faithful, that they might not be lured astray and forget what it is to be Sinta - and to be cast to the Chained Wastes should this oath be broken.

Having sworn this oath, and being anointed with ceremonial oils, the four Archpriests called upon Roeruz to rise as their brother and their equal - a deviation from tradition, as such a ceremony would ordinarily be conducted by the High Priest. Each of them embraced him, and he addressed the gathered crowd.

“My brothers and sisters, faithful of Sk’akh! My thanks to all of you for coming here today, and witnessing what I hope will only be the beginning of my service to the Great Spirit. Rest assured, my brothers of the Church and I will not stand silent for long - at last, the days of deadlocked councils and silent responses are over! The Church of Sk’akh is rising again, and let me tell all of you that we will never again stand divided as we have! Ring the bells! Feast and be merry! And may the Three Heads watch over us all, in the days to come!”

Archpriest Roeruz’s impassioned speech was met with cheers and celebration from the assembled faithful, as the bells of the Third Scept rang loud across Skalamar. The newly-inaugurated Archpriest was promptly surrounded by crowds of the faithful, seeking blessings, words of wisdom - or simply to have it be seen that they were there for this historic day, as the rifts within the Church of Sk’akh seem to be well and truly on the mend.

With only two days remaining before the promised vote on reparations to the Akhanzi, the entire nation awaits eagerly to see what the result will be.

Rationing Ends!

The Titan Rises Epilogue, Finale

The Hegemon and his Master of Rivers have announced today that the policy of rationing, which has been in place since the fear of a famine last year, officially ends today, as the Ouerean Aquaculture farms run by the Hephaestus Guild provide enough foodstuffs for all Unathi without need to ensure all are given an equal share. There were celebrations in the streets of most major cities, as street food vendors, restaurants, and grocery stores reopened their doors to eager customers; at the same time the old food distribution points were being torn down. Not’zar alongside Overlord Hutay’zai attended several of these openings themselves in the Noble districts of Skalamar, happy that there was no longer a threat of famine.

There have however been critics of this move, most notably the Interstellar Aid Corps, who insist that the Wasteland is still facing significant food shortages, and that the Hegemony should allocate what little it has to help the people there. Overlord Hutay’zai has refuted this claim, saying it is the Hegemony’s job to help Hegemonic citizens, not Wastelanders who did not even have the courage to return after the end of the Contact War.  He was caught near a microphone saying:

“Those *expletive redacted* want our food?! They made their choice, they chose *expletive redacted* over the future of the species; I do not care.”

Even with these drawbacks, it is clear to all that the Hegemony has passed the worst of what was inflicted by the scarcity, and we only have a bright future to look forward to. The strife that our people have endured for nearly three years now is over, and our nation can begin to rebuild stronger than ever.

Spirits bless the Hegemon, and all of us, on this joyous day. As always, for Sinta news Spur-wide, stick to the source you know you can trust - stick to Sinta Articles.

New Archpriest Swings Vote in Favor of Th’akh, Reparations Being Made by Next Year!

Article 7 of the Sk'akh Reformation Arc

At long last, the awaited day is here, as the five Archpriests of the Sk’akh Church have made their decision on the demanded reparations to the Akhandi Order. In a close vote, swung by the decision of the newly-appointed Archpriest Roeruz, the Church has voted to pay the demanded reparations in full - an enormous sum in the billions of credits - with two votes against and three votes for. The Archpriests made a public statement earlier today, issuing their official condolences for the crimes of the Marazalite Order and stating that they will pay the demanded reparations, in the hopes that the razed temples of the Akhandi can be restored to their former glory. They did not, however, accept responsibility for the Iron Crusade during this statement.

From our Biesel correspondent, Elder Shaman Vuthix Akhandi issued his official response to the Church’s decision, stating that “I am glad the spirits have guided the priests of Sk’akh to wisdom. My order has suffered much in recent years - but this will begin to make things right. While our Order has made a home in the Republic of Biesel, and continued our work here, the temples held our order’s history dating back centuries. I will be glad to see them restored, and many of the shamans who assisted in putting forward this proposal will be glad to return to their homelands once again.”

Many Th’akh faithful were overjoyed to hear this news, with widespread celebration across the Tza Prairie, and groups of several hundred Sinta being reported making pilgrimages to the ruined Akhandi Temples to make offerings to the spirits to bless reconstruction efforts. While it will assuredly take many years, especially as the Hegemony continues to struggle with ongoing famine, followers of Th’akh rejoice in the knowledge that, at last, the wounds of the Iron Crusade are beginning to heal.

Our correspondent in Kutah was able to reach Overlord Hutay’zai for comment. The Overlord seemed pleased with the recent news, informing us that “It was not an easy decision for me to come to, appointing an Archpriest - but I am glad that I did. Since the Marazalites and their vile crusade, I had hoped that we might see these holiest of sites rebuilt again - and I am happy to see that I was right.”
Despite our attempts, Hegemon Not’zar was not available for comment in person, due to an ongoing situation that required his attention. However, he did send a brief message to us here at Sinta Articles, stating that he is “pleased that the situation was resolved with expediency.”

Not all are as pleased, however, with some of the more militant Sk’akh faithful protesting the Archpriests’ decision to pay reparations - or in their eyes, admit wrongdoing. Lord Glatazk Yu'huni of To’ha’dat, known for his militant adherence to Sk’akh doctrine, addressed our correspondent earlier today, claiming that “This is a fool’s decision. The Archpriests have decided to play along with blasphemers, heretics and madmen, and I can only hope that they will realize their mistake with time. The Akhandi Temples were cesspits of degeneracy and acts of shame before Sk’akh, and the warriors of the Marazalite Order did us all a service in scouring them from Moghes - and now the Archpriests want to use our tithes to pay for their return? Mark my words, we will all live to regret this.”

While some share his views, the prevailing emotion across the Hegemony seems to be positive - with followers of Th’akh glad to see the Akhandi vindicated, and the Sk’akh faithful happy that the Church finally seems to be recovering from its recent ill fortune.
