Atmospheric Seeding Results: It's Raining!

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

At long last it has rained in the Wasteland. The image above shows what was previously a temperate forest south of Res'karum, a major source of timber for the Hegemony, having long since been overtaken by the Wasteland. The results were devastating, depopulating the region as desertification erased the woodlands and depopulated entire communities. What makes the image above remarkable is that it shows storm clouds forming over the region, which shortly after began to pour rain down onto the sand.

Travakh has always been the driest season for Moghes which spread fears that results from the Moghean restoration efforts wouldn't bear fruit until the Versakh wet season. Fortunately this early storm has raised spirits across Moghes.

Lord Azirz Yi'zaki, a member of the Imperial Office of Sustainability, gave a statement on his cautious optimism.

"Obviously the first rain to fall in the region for 20 years is worthy of celebrations. I've heard that surviving local communities are already gripped in ceremonies and declaring it a blessing from Sk'akh. I myself want to believe this is an omen foretelling our success. As a scientist I also believe this is an example of the unpredictable consequences of terraforming being positive. There will also be negative consequences that have yet to materialize. But still, we need to have our hearts filled with hope. We are bringing life back into the Wasteland."

Tens of thousands of laborers are continuing to lay the infrastructure for the growing climate restoration efforts, with 39,000 Sinta'Unathi now working for Guilds contracted by the central government doing most of the work. Bandit raids have threatened many construction sites deep in the wasteland prompting Not'Zar to summon an additional 12,000 men from Lord's levys to garrison the sites. Many of these sites are airports or weather balloon sites that launch equipment designed to seed the sky with cloud-generating compounds to draw rain or increase the humidity.

The planned network of weather satellites is not yet complete, with only 2 of the planned 26 satellites being launched into orbit, falling short of the goal to launch 2 satellites a month.

Lord-Regent Not'Zar Izweski has also given a statement of hope, and has declared today a national holiday.

"On the Galactic Standard Calender, September 26th, 2459, will forever be remembered as Restoration Day. We are fighting back against the blasted hellscape that consumes our world. Today marks the first victory in 20 years against our greatest, existential foe. I know that many more victories will come, and one day we will declare victory over the Wasteland and rejoice. We will not allow Moghes to face extinction, and we will fight to save our home."

High Priest Yizra Unzi has called for a Hegemony-wide prayer to thank Sk'akh for Her blessing in a televised prayer.

"By the grace and mercy of Sk'akh we succeed in our endeavor. With diligence, duty, and piety we remain blessed with triumph."

Xenoarchaeologist Find Evidence Of Ancient Life on Ouerea?

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

The expansive cavern and cave systems of Oureaea have proved attractive for mining Guilds due to the ease in which they allow mining equipment to reach several kilometers below the surface, but experts estimate that 97% of the planet's subterranean network remains unmapped and unexplored by xeno-geologists. Today however, the Hegemony Guild Of Xenoarchaeology have announced a startling find: an ancient temple pre-dating Sinta'Unathi civilization.

Master-Archaeologist K'arzl has announced that he and his small team have discovered 'evidence of an ancient civilization' deep in a cavern system 1.2km underground while mapping the system for Mining Guild evaluators that could then safely evaluate the site for mineral deposits.

Master K'arzl gave the account of his teams discovery via intercom to reporters who are flocking en-masse to the base-camp on the surface at the mouth of the cave system, half a kilometer north of the finding.

On the 20th we began, traveling far down following the river, which had carved out much of the stone over its unthinkably long route through here. As we got deeper we found several forks in the river, all too narrow and torrential to safely attempt to enter even for remote survey equipment. One of my followers, an azure from Skalamar, discovered another branch of the cave that didn't seem to have been created by water flow - the walls had very faint grooves that our geologist claimed was evidence of industrial equipment having dug out the rock. We diverged from the main river, and working our way through the narrow crevices, we discovered a large round cavern with a square stone column in the center. This obelisk stands about 14 feet high and three feet on each side, sculptured in what appears to be faded relief on all four sides from the base to the top. The front has the figure of what may be an individual with Sinta anatomy, but the stone has been worn down from age and the figure may be wearing a hooded robe of some kind. The figure is holding up their arms to a large orb overhead which may represent the sun. The relief beneath this figure has been damaged, but I am going to make a presumptuous that it is a crowd worshiping this hooded figure - or perhaps the figure is leading a worship of the orb? The sides of the obelisk is covered in hieroglyphics that look somehow familiar. Three feet in front of the obelisk is a large block of stone with figures carved into its sides, which may be an altar. Given that this planet has been habitable for as long as Moghes, the idea that we have found evidence of its former residents down here is remarkable but not unexpected.

Because communications are not reliable due to the layers of bedrock blocking transmissions, news from the archaeologist dig site rely on a single fiber-optic cable to carry messages back and forth from the base-camp and dig site. Reporters have only been able to interview Master K'arzl from the intercom in the base camp as he and his team continue their work uncovering the ancient secrets of what is already being called 'the Lost Temple of Ouerea.' Fringe groups have claimed it may have been built by the first 'proto-Sinta'. The findings are still tentative, but archaeologist experts across the Hegemony and galactic space are in fierce debate as to the ramifications of this find - while some notable human archaeologists such as Doctor Howard Phillips has cast doubt on the legitimacy of the whole thing.

In his most recent interview, Master K'arzl revealed an even more shocking discovery. Using their field equipment master K'arzl's team managed to light up the ceiling of the cavern to reveal "an extraordinary facade in bold relief depicting an entrance representing open jaws of an four-eyed beast."

No images have been released as of yet as Master K'arzl remains with his team in the dig site, but he claims that based on further surveys and scans he is tentatively dating the site's construction "between 1.2 million to 450,000 years ago."

Members of the Maraziite Order have expressed interest in the archaeological dig, and a handful of Iron Masks as well as Chapter Masters Yauz'ai, who has claimed he is there to 'ensure the respect and sanctity of any religious site from possible defilement.'

'Lost Temple' Declared Hoax, Sealed By Maraziite Order

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Excited scholars and every-men that were giddy over the finding ruins of an ancient Proto-Sinta temple in subterranean Ouerea are now feeling disappointment today as the findings of Master-Archaeologist K'arzl have been debunked as an elaborate hoax. Chapter Master Yauz'ai, responsible for Maraziite activities in the region, has announced that Master K'arzl has 'fled' after Iron Masks entered the cavern to investigate the validity of his bold claims, against the wishes of K'arzl.

Members of the Maraziite Order have expressed interest in the archaeological dig, and a handful of Iron Masks as well as Chapter Masters Yauz'ai, who has claimed he is there to 'ensure the respect and sanctity of any religious site from possible defilement.' After growing increasingly frustrated with K'arzl's insistence, Yauz'ai entered the mouth of the cave with his small squad to investigate. There had been no communication from Yauz'ai nor K'arzl for the rest of that day, and only hours ago did Yauz'ai re-emerge with several members of the original dig team in restraints.

A haggard seeming Yauz'ai gave a brief statement as Maraziites escorted the dig-team away to waiting vehicles.

"K'arzl repeatedly insisted that no one other than his team be permitted entry into his dig site. This explorer has no authority to deny holy Maraziite guardians access to sacred sites and so I and a company of six Iron Masks entered the cavern and traveled to the alleged site. Our Order found the 'temple' to be nothing other than unusual ore outcrops. We found members of K'arzl's team red-handed chiselling into a large stalagmite that they claimed was the obelisk. We've arrested the team for committing fraud under the name of Sk'akh, but unfortunately K'arzl resisted, attacking an Iron Mask with an excavation pick and fleeing deeper into the cavern system. We did not follow due to the complexity of the cavern system and our lack of maps. The claims of K'arzl are false and hold no fragment of truth and we will not tolerate further discussion on this topic."

Reporters and on-lookers to the site continued to press for further information, but Yauz'ai has refused further comment. Him and another Iron Mask have also prevented others from entering the cave. Hours later several vehicles filled with Maraziites entered the base camp and began evicting everyone from the camp, forcefully dismantling it. Cameras and other recording equipment were seized and destroyed by order of Yauz'ai 'to prevent proliferation of heretical fraud and lies'.

After the site was evacuated several on-lookers outside the area reported feeling the ground briefly shake and hearing a faint boom as if there was a distant explosion. After the Maraziites themselves left the area, witnesses returned and have found the entrance to the cave has been sealed by a 'large, intentional cave-in'.

The Maraziite Order have refused to clarify why they have sealed the entrance to the site nor if they managed to arrest K'arzl before sealing it, with a spokesman only saying "there is no point to discuss this anymore."

Second Superdreadnought HMV Catastrophe Launched

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Celebrations have erupted across the Hegemony to mark the successful launch of the HMV Catastrophe. Construction on the ship began in orbit of Moghes in 2457 with immense investments in manpower and resources. Originally a sister Cataclysm-class vessels was going to be launched as well today but the Cataclysm project has faced deep cuts as funding is diverted to the terraforming projects on Moghes.

The Catastrophe follows the naval philosophy that hatched the Cataclysm-class vessel and brought a new galactic era of superdreadnaughts. It possesses unrivaled close quarters offensive potential. The vessel is put in at 3,195 feet in length and 800 feet in width at its maximum, and the front of the vessel possesses a long plasteel spear a quarter of the ship's length attached to its naval ram.

It is covered in 3 inch thick plasteel and a new generation of Sinta'Unathi shield technology that is said to match the capabilities of human vessels.

It possesses similar styled weapons as its predecessor, with several rail-cannons, two bluespace artillery cannons, and several broadside laser cannons. The Catastrophe does not have unmanned drones like its predecessor as Sinta strategists found they were of little use in the field during the wars with the frontier nations in 2458.

In an elaborate ceremony in Skalamar, Lord-Regent Not'zar officially named Oyuti Gour'zai as Captain of the vessel as well as Admiral of the 2nd Fleet, taking the place of the retiring Lord Admiral Azikyui Yizarus. His brother, Lord Admiral Trazarial Yizarus, will retain command of the 1st fleet.

The nomination of Gour'zai as Admiral of the 2nd fleet is a major break from established tradition. Gour'zai, 46, is not a Lord or member of the aristocracy. His Clan have historically managed a carpentry guild for centuries. He is the first generation of naval officers graduated from the Hegemonic Naval Academy. Still in its infancy, the naval academy has had its first batch of graduates this year with many taking command of various naval vessels. Only half of the 42 graduates are of noble birth. This is seen as a major breakthrough for the Izweski's longterm plan of centralizing the navy under direct imperial authority.

A commoner being given the extremely prestigious rank of Admiral may be seen as a snub to the powerful clans that sought the title. The retirement of Lord-Admiral Azikyui also comes a year after he declared his support for S'linzar Ickza, the would-be usurper of Not'Zar. The Ickza Clan itself holds the most manpower of the Hegemony's army in their levys, and many of their Clan had asked for Command of a fleet of their own.

Gour'zai himself received the highest marks in the academy. He has been described as an extremely aggressive tactician. Not'Zar has heaped praise on him.

"With the launch of this new vessel we have showcased our strength, unity, and resolve to defend ourselves and project ourselves in the galactic stage. Gour'zai has shown himself to be the most able and willing candidate for these goals and his merit is unquestionable."

Gour'zai himself gave a speech commemorating his new rank, and gave a warning to the Hegemony's would-be enemies.

"I accept today the most sobering of responsibilities. I have taken command of the vessel that will be the shield that protects our species from the threats of the galaxy, and the spear that will plunge into the hearts of our enemies. Catastrophe will visit any that threaten us, and the Cataclysm of its wrath will sweep over any meek resistance they would place before us. The Great Spirit has filled me with determination to carry out my duties and I will not falter."

The Catastrophe will join the 2nd Fleet by the end of the day and become its new flagship. This gives both fleets of the Hegemony a Cataclysm-class flagship.

Ickza And Other Powerful Vassals Refuse To Provide Levy: Half Of Army On "Strike"

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Border stations, forts, and military camps are being abandoned across the edge of the Untouched Lands as the Ickza Clan are withdrawing their levy to return to their clan lands. Ickza vassals are joining their liege lord in returning from defending various locations across Moghes. Operations into the Wasteland against bandits have also been grinded to a halt. Over half of the army levys of Moghes have left the field, which could cause incredible destabilization across Moghes as the undefended borders of the Hegemony are swarmed by refugees and bandits from the Wasteland.

The armies of the Hegemony are made up of levy's summoned by Lords under feudal obligations to the Izweski.

Lord and Clan Leader Czia Ickza has penned an open letter to Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski justifying the strike, signed by 19 of the Ickza's various lower Clan Lords.

The ancient rights and customs of our people are once again under threat. It is well known to even the youngest hatchlings that society is governed by rules and laws. These traditions and laws are being threatened by the trampling of our ancient noble rights. Firing a landed vassal from leading a mighty fleet and replacing him with a random commoner is a slap in the face to our ways. This commoner has no stake in the feudal obligations that form both the foundation and spine of our civilization. Creating a centralized officer corps is destabilizing and will erode our rights as vassals. The Hegemon is not a tyrant ruling by decree. The title of Hegemon brings with it the downward obligations to his vassals. We will not side idly by as we lose our rights. The Lord-Regent wants a private army of officers loyal to him alone. This spits on the hard work and sacrifice our clans have put in to defend the realm.

We will not provide our levy or pay taxes to the Izweski until the Officer Corps is disbanded and the titles of Lord-Admiral and Lord-General are returned to the esteemed Lords that show martial ability and noble lineage.

Admiral Oyuti Gour'zai, who has become the first commoner to achieve a military posting, has written a scathing return letter blasting the 'old hags' of the Ickza.

"I can only echo the statement my compatriot Yizarus made during the Ickza's first naked power grab: 'If you want my fleet, you can come try and take it from me.'"

Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski has not made a statement, and bizarrely has been last seen on an imperial shuttle departing for Tret. It's not known why the Lord-Regent made such a sudden trip to the small planet which is ruled by the K'lax, but in the meantime the military of Moghes remain in complete disarray.

Not'Zar Approaches Ickza Castle: Silent Xeno Legion Of Tens of Thousands Tread Upon Moghes

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

A bizarre scene is unfolding outside S'th today. Having left to the K'lax planet of Tret after the Ickza and their vassals withdrew their levies, the Lord-Regent has returned planetside. Following behind him is a xeno legion of unprecedented scale. Witnesses in villages by the landing sites, only four miles north of the Ickza's ancestral estate, say a large number of vessels have been landing in fallow farmlands for the majority of the day.

Civilian cargo shuttles and military transports have unloaded hordes of Vaurca warriors. A farmer from Kzoauh, the closest village, described the scene:

"I was bringing some tools to the blacksmith for repair when I saw the ships coming from the sky. There were so many, and I felt uneasy. Word spread fast as they landed and we all came to watch what was happening. In our fields the shuttles opened and we saw these aliens standing completely silently. Six, seven, eight shuttles landed one after another and opened their doors but none of the beasts inside moved or made a sound. We heard news of these demonic looking xenos bringing suffering to the humans, and we feared the worst. Finally another shuttle landed and several Sinta in Izweski dress emerged, and I could not believe it but the crippled prince stepped out with one of those aliens in tow. The alien with him seemed more.... Alive, and they came out into the field. The Lord-Regent looked at us, then said something to his xeno follower. Suddenly all the demons in the shuttle moved at once. The noise was terrifying - they just suddenly marched out of the ships and onto the soil. It was like Sk'akh himself was beating a drum of war. This horde marched down the road, and we saw they carried strange, exotic weapons."

The host marched down the road towards the Ickza estate and the local Ickza garrisons are reported to have abandoned their border checkpoints and roadblocks without challenging the convoy. The convoy was apparently only briefly delayed at each checkpoint as the warriors, believed to be of the Vaurca 'bound' caste, pushed aside obstacles. Some villages even had their residents spontaneously flee their homes in the path of the horde.

It's not clear what intentions the Lord-Regent has with his massive host of bound K'lax warriors. From what we know based on witness accounts and previous knowledge of the Vaurca, the Lord-Regent appears to have an entire division of Bound soldiers at his command with the assistance of an Unbound 'Ancillary'. An Ancilary can use the species' hive mind to send telepathic orders to Bound under their supervision.

The Lord-Regent, for his part, released only a simple comment when asked about this development:

"I am traveling to attend negotiations."

Czia Ickza Capitulates, Lord-Regent Not'zar Gets His Troops

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Lasting only 4 days, the bizarre stand off around the Ickza's ancestral home has come to an end. What is now counted as over ten thousand K'lax warriors had surrounded the Ickza's castle and stood in multiple formations around the entire estate. The Ickza requested their own vassals answer a summons to rally an army of their own but many of the Ickza's lower vassals refused the summons. The Ickza ended up with a force of 2,500 Sinta surrounded by the tens of thousands of Vaurca.

The siege was not a traditional one. The levy-men of the Ickza were permitted to travel down the main highway to the castle, and no traffic in the area was halted by the besieging Not'zar. The Lord-Regent affirmed that this was not a siege battle but a demonstration when the Ickza sent a request to allow food shipments to continue to the castle. Despite the complete lack of a land blockade traffic to the estate and its surrounding villages plummeted to near zero as many travelers cited intense fear of the Vaurca.

Not'zar Izweski met with Czia Ickza and other Ickza vassals in the siege camp outside the estate. Surrounded by Vaurca and Izweski bannermen, the group continued to negotiate while the opposing forces faced each other down outside. Some witnesses from both sides have laid accusations that the Ickza's forces repeatedly attempted to goad the K'lax into a conflict but were ignored at every turn.

One of our reporters described the unsettling scene playing out over the week, with the great Vaurca horde outnumbering and surrounding the much smaller Ickza force. The Vaurca remained completely silent and unmoving for hours and hours on end. By nightfall the Unathi forces, wearing full combat gear and holding melee weapons or rifles, were becoming exhausted after standing in place for over 13 hours. The commanders were stubborn and refused to let anyone move until the sun began to set on the next day. By this time the Ickza's levy-men had gone nearly 40 hours standing in place with no food or water and many began to collapse in place from exhaustion.

Finally the Ickza commanders signaled all the formations to break up and return to their camp. It was then that the Vaurca's entire force suddenly took two steps forward, giving a very quick thunderous sound of marching. After remaining as still as statues for so long, the sudden short advanced caused many Ickza levymen to break, dropping their weapons as he stumbled back. The March back to camp became a disorganized stampede.

After this stand off, Czia Ickza emerged from the castle to speak to Not'zar Izweski. At the end of the negotiations Czia Ickza agreed to Not'zar's demand to retract the vassalage of the Ickza lesser Lords to gain direct control of their levy-men. In addition, Czia Ickza has agreed to personally return with Not'zar Izweski to the Izweski Citadel for an indefinite stay as a house guest to ensure expedient negotiations in case there is ever another disagreement between the Izweski and Ickza clans in the future.

Izweski bannermen are now being sent to the various castles of their new direct vassals to direct the efforts of the feudal levys to return to their abandoned camps on the border and get the Hegemony's army back up to strength.

The Vaurca army has begun its march back to the shuttleports, but strangely a contingent has followed Not'zar Izweski and his group back to Skalamar. When asked for comment, Not'zar Izweski confirmed that the K'lax would be keeping a small, permanent garrison in the city while other K'lax Vaurca would also come to Moghes to permanently take part on the Imperial Military Academy.

"If we are going to have a General Staff of strategists and tacticians for modern war, we need to utilize the strengths of all of our vassals." Not'zar said.

Large Dionae Argus Found In The Wasteland

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Guildsmen, priests, and imperial officials are flocking to the city of Mudki after its Lord Y'zara announced that one of the villages in his fief has become host to a large 'diona' which was discovered outside a local village. The 'Argus' is a large network of 16 Diona 'nymphs' inter-connected, forming a single consciousness from their many small parts, and it is believed to have grown to its current size for the last two months. Diona are known to absorb radiation for nourishment and based on reports it seems the diona has entered into a symbiotic relationship with the local community of 600 villagers.

It has grown around a large dead tree that was once an important religious site for the local community.

While the sand dunes of the have not fully embraced the village, it remains right on the border of the Wasteland and much of the local environment has already perished from the fallout. But since the diona has grown to its current size Radiation levels around the village have gone down and rates of radiation sickness and cancer have dropped dramatically. The shaman of the local village had declared the diona a blessing from the Ancestors intended to protect them and had persuaded the villagers to bring it regular tribute of food and water.

The diona was discovered by the greater Hegemony when a tax collector from Mudki arrived and noticed the new resident. He believed it to be a large collection of fire wood and kindling with an infestation of chirping birds. The tax collector was very startled when the pile of plant matter began speaking fluent sinta'unathi, and he quickly reported it to Lord Y'zara.

Now botanists and xenobiologists working for the Izweski are at the village studying the creature. It's not known how it arrived on Moghes, nor why it selected this particular site. Master Xenobiologist Iq'zara Kazi, who is leading the expedition to study the creature, explained the significance of the find.

Quote

"We have never managed to find a diona of this size within our own borders. It is a little slow to learn from us but it displays a high level of intelligence. I believe this matches what we know from secondhand sources from other agencies that deal with diona - they are very pondering creatures. It remains very receptive to us and we are very excited about what we will be able to learn once we get our lab equipment fully set up."

The expedition has named the Argus Taarazi.

The local villagers expressed great concern at the invasive attention from the Izweski and the shaman has insisted the diona had already named itself The Silent Friend Embracing The Weeping Souls In A Blanket Of Purity And Love. Master Kazi laughed when asked about this and told reporters:

"Shamans are very creative poets when they get in the mood."

Argus Missing! Shaman Held On Charges Of Grand Theft

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

A massive search is now underway for the diona argus dubbed Taarazi. Early in the morning of the 10th (GST) the Izweski researchers returned from their camp to the site of Taarazi to find it missing. The Izweski scientists, followed by two Izweski bannermen, approached the shaman at his home and demanded to know where the diona had gone. The shaman, Awavai Huyazi, admitted to aiding the diona's escape during the night when the researchers had left.

Huyazi was immediately arrested and held on charges of grand theft, and letters have been dispatched to Mudki as well as surrounding Wasteland settlements offering a substantial award for any information that will lead to the capture of Taarazi.

Master Xenobiologist Iq'zara Kazi, who is leading the expedition to study the creature, expressed great concern at the loss of such a scientific wonder.

Quote
"We have already learned so much even in the short time the diona was under our custodianship. In the careful extraction of specific 'nymphs' from the greater gestalt, we were able to unlock many previously undiscovered secrets of diona physiology. The relationship between individual nymphs to the greater gestalt is as fascinating as it is familiar. Each nymph adds its individual biological and cultural distinctiveness to the gestalt. We even summoned a priest of Sk'akh to discuss the relationship between the diona and Sk'akh's own nature and were eager to explore additional connections between the concepts, as well as the affect of nymphs being separated from the greater gestalt under various circumstances. The loss of this diona by the ignorant peasants is an attack on Sinta science as well as our entire faith."

Huyazi is being held in Mudki on charges against the Izweski, and the village shrine is being closed to the village unless more information is provided leading to the re-capture of Kaazi.

Over 120 Sinta are involved in the search effort, and two helicopters were commissioned to aid in the hunt.

Shaman Huyazi was unapologetic for his actions, and managed to give this statement on the way to the dungeon in Mudki:

"Diona are not animals - the spirits protect them."

Mudki Church Leaders Visit Imprisoned Shaman: Petition High Priest Unzi To Declare Diona Sacred

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Sk'akh leaders across the city of Mudki have been making repeated visits to Shaman Huyazi, currently being held in a dungeon in the city for crimes against the Izweski. The shaman has been holding discussions with the visiting holy men, nearly all of whom have expressed interest at Huyazi's stance and theories on diona.

Originally a single priest of one of the local churches, Oeu'az, requested an audience with Huyazi after being intrigued by the shamans ideas. He was denied by Mudki Lord Y'zara at the request of the Izweski. Afterwards an assembly of over a dozen of the city's holy men lodged an official request to be given an audience, and Lord Y'zara accepted at the protest of the Izweski representative.

Oeu'az and the assembly then met with Huyazi over the course of these last few days. During which Huyazi has told the assembly of Sk'akh priests much about the symbiotic relationship his village developed with Taarzi, the diona that is still currently in hiding as the Izweski attempt to put it back in their custody.

Priest Oeu'az himself spoke to reporters following the latest discussion with Huyazi, expressing his new outlook.

Quote
"The Izweski xenobiologist has taken a very clinical and almost human approach to understanding the argus that treads on our world. But Huyazi has shown myself and many of my brothers of the cloth that these strange creatures are not simple animals, but living creatures with a soul. I have prayed with Huyazi in common spirit."

The assembly of Mudki consolidated their opinions into an open letter to High Priest Unzi, the highest authority of the Sk'akh church. In the letter, signed by all 56 church leaders of Mudki, the assembly asks Unzi to send a delegation to listen to Huyazi and form an official position of the Church on the state of diona. In one part of the letter, Oeu'az says,

Quote
"The many nymphs that come together to form the whole must not be looked at as many individuals forming many, but many individuals forming one greater whole. This shares so much with how our own spirits go to join the whole of Sk'akh to form the greater Great Spirit who watches over us all. This is worthy of contemplation."

Izweski clan leaders have insisted that Taarzi holds no religious significance. The search remains underway for the lost argus, with many Izweski bannermen and troops from their vassals searching multiple villages and the surrounding countryside. The noblemen leading the search parties have expressed frustration and anger at the unwillingness of the local villages to provide information or assistance. One village elder attempted to deny an Izweski patrol entry into his villages' shrine and was arrested along with four other unathi who attempted to prevent his arrest.

Lord Azuayi Izweski, commander of the Izweski's 5th Banner Retinue, issued a reminder to all local communities that they remain 'obligated under the laws of the Hegemony and must be unwavering in their willingness to submit to Imperial law.'

Not'zar Izweski Grants Clemency To Guwan Orphans In Most Radical Reform Yet

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski has formally announced a sweeping new edict that has effectively elevated millions of Guwans into the common class. This new edict, which goes into affect at 11:59:00 GST tonight, legally abolishes the practice of orphaned Unathi automatically being Guwan and provides allowances for adults of the Guwan class to petition their former orphanage to take on their surname. Lords across the Hegemony are being flooded with petitions from Guwans to take on the name of their former orphanage, and records are expected to be in turmoil as they are updating regarding hatchlings still in the care of their ward Clans.

Guwans are Unathi that were exiled from their Clan and family for a variety of reasons. A Guwan is typically someone that committed an offense so heinous that their clan elders could not tolerate their continued presence. These Guwan have historically flocked to the major cities, where they form a sizable underclass concentrated in dangerous slums. Guwans are not permitted to petition their local Lords to express any grievances, and are not permitted to social services provided by private enterprise or state entities. They are not full citizens of the Hegemony but are considered residents, which additionally bares them from many services.

The two largest orphange guilds, ran by the the Gukuzan and Kuhwinla Clans, have welcomed the move and played a key part in its passage.

Priest Kiazoi Gukuzan, Guildmaster of the Gukuzan Guild, expressed his support for the motion.

"Many hatchlings are brought to me or brought in from the street with nothing but their clothes. My orphanages feed them, care for them, and raise them as proper Sk'akh boys and girls that any family would be proud to honor them with an adoption. Unfortunately even the most upstanding Sinta, loyal to his Lord and Great Spirit, is labelled an outcast and thrown into the slums where he may learn crime and dishonor from the scum that dedicate their lives to corruption and vice. It's good to separate the criminals from the upstanding. I am accepting any petitions to take the name Gukuzan from any Guwan we cared for that has shown moral consistency."

Guildmaster Ioaza Kuhwinla shared similar sentiments.

"All these kids that leave our doors end up in the horde of Guwans that swarm our cities. It's very hard to keep track of them. Many adults that leave my care just run off and hide so they do not have to pay back their debts. Taking on our name will let us keep track of them and ensure our duties and obligations to one another are fulfilled. I am also pleased with the notion that I will be broodmother to so many children."

Lord Trikzara Sirax of Skalamar has given cautious optimism at the motion. With nearly a million Guwans in his city suddenly being uplifted to full citizenship, he has expressed many concerns.

"The material wealth of our society would be better off if these Guwans simply disappeared. They do not contribute in any meaningful way to our society. The obligations Lords have to our vassals does not fall over Guwan, and so we can ensure our stressed resources are allocated fairly. Allowing millions of Unathi to automatically gain my obligation for respect, clemency, and fair treatment is a tall order when done all at once. I am not sure how I will be able to handle a million new citizens. They will definitely disrupt our functions."

Lord Mizaruz Gri'zan of Baandr has given much harsher criticism. His city suffered a massive uprising from the Guwan population in February of 2458, in which a leading Clanmother was brutally murdered while packs of Guwans roamed the streets. The uprising was not crushed until the intervention of the Maraziite Order.

"My city is the gatehouse from the Wasteland to the Untouched Lands. Every day I must shut my gates and deny entry to the tens of thousands of Guwan and other refugees that flood here daily. Once lavish gardens and centers of culture are now overtaken by slums and shanty towns. Good, honest Sinta cannot even roam the streets of my city anymore without fear of violence. Crime and murder has skyrocketed and my entire Levy is constantly fighting the Guwan who would drag us all down with them. I am deeply disappointed that the Lord-Regent would use the authority of his father to reward all of these scum with pardons. They do not deserve clan names. They lost that privilege. The Izweski can fraternize with Guwan but I will reject any petition from a Guwan attempting to reach the level of their betters."

Not'zar Izweski for his part held a speech in the Izweski Citadel explaining his reasons for the edict.

"In our lifetimes the most cataclysmic conflict in the history of our species caused unending devastation and suffering. Every Clan has suffered a loss and the wounds from these losses can still be raw and gaping. Entire dynasties were snuffed out and the survivors of the atomic exchange must now rebuild and reinforce what fragment of our once-great civilization remains. Millions of hatchlings will grow up without parents because of the violent and needless Traditionalist butchery of our people. This law is not a pardon for Guwans, but allowing all of us to recognize hatchlings who's ancestors' presence keep them honorable and upstanding despite the loss of their parents. These are the Unathi we need to elevate, for these Unathi can still carry the burdens of our future on their shoulders. Not all orphans are Guwans, and not all Guwans are orphans."

Clan Mothers Across Ouerea Ask “What About the Hatchlings?”

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

Recently, clan mothers among settlements on Ouerea have begun organizing into groups to have meetings they call Women’s Councils. It is believed that the trend began in response to rising concerns for the safety of the children of Ouerea. A steadily rising Guwan population, failing infrastructure, lowered funding of public services, and raised taxes. This has culminated into one of the largest gatherings of women seen in recent history. yesterday in Kr’ath. Organizational leader, volunteer and clan mother of clan Kev’vi, Elistra Kev’vi called it ‘The First Gathering of Gentle Souls.’ Thousands of women and hundreds of men gathered to hear the proposals.

"Our young cities are turning into slums, being cut down before their prime from a lack of public funding. The crime rate is going up, our cities are falling apart, and at the same time? Our current feudal levis are going up, and new taxes are being added!”

New mother and volunteer Jessika Kluvax added on to this point.

“The newest levies to move our young men to work out to the harsh wasteland is troubling. We took no part of the contact war, why should we suffer to fix the members of our homeworld’s mistake? What I am saying is, we are being robbed of opportunity and being used as work animals for the home world. My newly hatched child, what world will he grow up in?”

Kluvax's remarks left the crowd stunned, and started many arguments. A large amount of Unathi in attendance remember life on Moghes, before the contact war. Overlord Tarkart Yiztek, when asked for comment, had this to say.

“I was looking over the results of our 2459 census, and took note of falling satisfaction numbers. I also share in our unhappiness towards Not’zar’s disregard over clan affairs. I agree that we should have the ability to shape the fate of our clan destinies. I am currently working with the Lord Regent on preserving the traditional control clans have over their affairs, like guwan trials, and their future. It is a shame that it has come to the point that the women have to remind us of who we are.”

Organizer Kev’vi was not so convinced, posting over the Ouerean social media network Ouerea Now.

“Overlord Yiztek is missing the point. If we are to continue to swell our Guwan population with no control, like programs to try and reform Guwans, the problem will never be solved. They will continue to not contribute, and be a bane to our society. He also completely disregards our other points, and insults us by not addressing the Plains Tyrant in the room.”

Now that Ouerea is less than a month away from its twenty-second anniversary, and two years into establishing Izweski Hegemony structure. It is yet to be seen how long it will take for the populace to finally adapt and relearn its proper ways.

High Priest Unzi Secures Release of Shaman: Declares Dionae 'Sacred' After Dramatic Show-down With Authorities

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

A dramatic stand-off between High Priest Unzi and Lord Azuayi Izweski took place today. It began in the morning with a surprise visit by the High Priest to the dungeon in Mudki, where the shaman Awavai Huyazi where he is being held for grand theft after aiding in the escape of a Dionae argus held by the Izweski clan.

High Priest Unzi approached the guards at the entrance and requested access to the imprisoned shaman. The startled guards did not contest Unzi's request and allowed him inside, escorted by two Maraziites. The Warden of the prison was alerted to Unzi's visit and found him in a deep discussion with Shaman Huyazi in his cell. The Warden asked Unzi the meaning of this, and High Priest Unzi walked out of the cell with Huyazi, declaring him to be pardoned. The Warden did not contest this, allowing Unzi to leave with shaman Huyazi. The Warden did quickly contact Mudki's Lord Y'zara. Y'zara in turn alerted Lord Azuayi Izweski, who has been leading the search effort to recover the argus Taarazi.

High Priest Unzi brought Huyazi into his vehicle which was tracked by an Izweski helicopter leaving the city and heading south into the Wasteland. There Unzi and Huyazi stopped at a small oasis five miles south of the city, where the argus was spotted with an assembly of unidentified Sinta and two Maraziites.

After being informed of this Lord Y'zara redirected his bannermen to the location, arriving two hours later by motorcade with a dozen of his Clan's personal soldiers. He found Unzi conversing with an assembly of priests and shamans with the argus. Lord Y'zara demanded they leave and turn over Taarazi. High Priest Unzi refused, gesturing to Taarazi and declaring, "What is this, if not proof of Sk'akh?"

Lord Azuayi Izweski ordered his four bannermen to re-arrest the shaman Huyazi, but High Priest Unzi in turn rebuffed them, saying the shaman was under his protection. Lord Azuayi Izweski threatened to arrest the entire assembly of holy men on the spot if they did not comply, to which High Priest Unzi rebuffed him again. The situation grew heated as Lord Azuayi Izweski ordered the entire assembly arrested, but after advancing a few steps all of his men allegedly stopped dead in their tracks as Unzi asked them if following orders to throw holy men in shackles was their idea of honorable conduct.

Lord Azuayi Izweski began screaming at his men, who continuously refused to arrest the assembly. Additional officials arrived to the location and the situation was quickly defused, with Lord Azuayi Izweski leaving with his men after the arrival of Lord Y'zara and Mudki's levymen.

Following this dramatic encounter High Priest Unzi has given a joint declaration with Shaman Huyazi in which Dionae have been declared officially sacred in Sk'akh holy canon, as well as possessing a soul. Part of the speech describes this as,

Quote
"The Great Spirit is a manifest of all of our souls combining together to form the whole. He is many, but one. All of the individual voices come together to create something greater. These strange creatures, though alien to our soil, are nevertheless intimately familiar. They drift through the endless cosmos, infinitely patient, curious, and intelligent. Their many small parts create a single individual through a single soul. They are many pieces that coalesce into one spirit. They are sacred individuals that are proof of Sk'akh's nature. All Sinta should take a brief moment to reflect on the beauty of Sk'akh's form manifest in our material plane."

Sk'akh has stressed that worshiping Diona is not permitted, but reverence and respect are still encouraged. Being recognized as possessing a soul, experimentation such as those done by Master Xenobiologist Kazi are now considered sacrilege, and punishable by the Maraziite Order.

Shaman Huyazi spoke in affirmation of Unzi's words, saying,

Quote
"Diona are the most curious and exotic creatures. They effortlessly exist in harmony with those around them. The Silent Friend Embracing The Weeping Souls In A Blanket Of Purity And Love is a blessing from the ancestors to our village and I strongly believe that nymphs have a little piece of our ancestors in them, just as spirits can possess mundane objects to give them great qualities, so too can a little piece of a spirit exist in a diona."

Following these developments, the dionae known as Tarrazi has been returned to the village he was uprooted from with Huyazi, where the village has erupted into a small festival in celebration. Not'zar Izweski has officially released a comment saying the actions of his cousin Azuayi do not necessarily reflect the attitudes of the Izweski clan. Master Xenobiologist Kazi has released a formal apology for participating in sacrilege, affirming his love of Sk'akh and deep respect for High Priest Unzi.

"My behavior was uncalled for," Kazi said, "sometimes we scientists need to be reminded that sometimes the thirst for knowledge can lead us astray from proper behavior and morals."

Izweski Scramble After Terra-forming Site Abandoned By Workers After Wastelander Show of Force

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

19 miles north of the city of Sahltyr sits a formerly bustling work camp known as Site 47 on official records. This location boasted 250 workers and 4 large atmospheric seeding machines that weremeant to generate rain clouds and storms and generally bring moisture back to the desert to halt the Wasteland's advance south and prevent the devastation of Sahltyr. But today the work camps are completely abandoned, with only Izweski bannermen patrolling the area in search for the elusive bandits that caused it to be abandoned in the first place.

On the 26th the small levy of 20 Sahltyr levymen defending the site reported a large group of wastelanders approaching from the North, many of them armed. The levy ordered the workers to abandon the equipment and barricade themselves in the bunkhouses while they took up a defensive position. Reports claim that over the crest of the hills around the camp over 4,500 wasteland Sinta surrounded the camp completely. According to witnesses they were all armed with crude ballistic weapons and covered in ragtag armor and clothes. They were lead by a Sinta wearing a desecrated, salvaged-looking Breacher Suit. On the command of this leading Sinta, all 4,500 Wastelanders began to give out bellowing war songs.

The camp's levy desperately requested help, but Lord Aizrahu Kaizi of Sahltyr responded that he had no men to spare. Facing the overwhelming odds, Commander Jauki Kaizi, younger brother of Lord Aizrahu, personally left the camp with a flag of surrender. There he met with someone who claims to be Don'ziki Azarak. This paper cannot stress enough how impossible this claim is due to the undisputed fact that the Azarak dynasty was brought to a brute end by the Contact War. The bandit leader accepted the surrender on the condition that the camp hand over their Izweski overseer, Tua Izweski and allow their technicians loot the seeding machines. Jauki dishonored himself and his lineage by accepting, and the entire camp was allowed to leave after forcefully handing over Tua. The workers all fled to Sahltyr, where Lord Kaizi contacted Not'zar Izweski.

Upon learning of his cousin's status as a hostage, Not'zar Izweski has announced a new decree demanding an additional 2,000 Sinta from the levy provided by Ouerean Overlord Yiztek. An entire force of 500 Izweski bannermen have relocated to Sahltyr, lead by Commander Yauzi Izweski. They detained Juaki early this afternoon and Yauzi summarily beheaded him for the crimes of Abhorrent Dishonor. Lord Kaizi, who was formerly allowed autonomy, is being escorted to Skalamar where he is expected to formally apologize to Not'zar Izweski for allowing a member of the Hegemon's immediate family to be handed over to rampaging bandits without a fight.

The forces being assembled by the Izweski are presumed to be preparing for a major expedition into the Wasteland to rescue the captured Tua, and destroy the marauding bandits threatening Izweski ambitions.

Meanwhile, on Ouerea the warsong bellowed out by the wastelanders is being downloaded by the thousands every hour from an unregulated website on the extranet. The themes of the song, mostly of anti-Izweski sentiments and describing the hardships of being forgotten seem to have resonated with the Sinta youth. Overlord Yiztek formerly blocked the website from the Ouerean Extraanet, decreeing it a terrorist propaganda site. He has also quickly banned the public playing of the song. This however has not stopped users from Ouerea Now from sharing the song, garnering it a million plays by this article’s conception. When lord Yiztek ordered Ouerea Now to ban the sharing of the song from it’s servers, Ourea Now administrators claimed that it was looking into ways to stop encouraging terrorism. As of now however, no action has been taken.

Second Graduating Class of the Hegemonic Imperial Academy Pushed into Service!

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

The second class of the Hegemonic Naval Academy deploys today, with two hundred and sixty-three souls manning the first and second fleets. Admiral Oyuti Gour'zai himself gave the commencement speech, with the entire Academy in attendance.

"I look into the faces of each of you, warriors all. I see the same hunger that held me so when traveled to the stars. For truly, what could equal the duty of defending our planet, our system? To see with your naked eyes the whole of the planet that bore us. Before we first cast ourselves into space, the burning mother cast its light upon a divided people. And since the Hegemonies founding, yet more things have tried to divide us, To divide the Hegemony. Yet, it is stronger and more united than ever before.Indeed, the galaxy has never been more connected than it has been now, and it's in this light we must hold fast the bulwark of our people and our allies. On behalf of the fleet, I welcome you. "

Several K'lax were in attendance, with most sitting within the facility seating at the event. Curiously enough, only a few of the graduates appear to be from noble families, continuing the trend from the first class. When questioned, Kasa Isolosi had this to say about his time at the academy.

"It was certainly different, learning space combat, and from a no less Vaurca. They are not passionate as we are, but that is not to say they are without passion. They are brutal, efficient teachers, and I believe that is where their passion lies. I remembered when we, the class had to explain the concept of POWs to Vaykt, one of our Klaxan professors. The training was not easy, more than a few graduates failed. But perhaps more than anything, however, I remember our first day, when we discovered a Vaurca was teaching us. I remember because of how excited I felt to be accepted, me, a farmers son. I could not bear to shirk my responsibilities here, and so I did not care that a Vaurca was teaching me. Yet, one person did, he was a noble I think. He stood up and started listing off who he would call to get the Vaurca removed, that the Vaurca was not worthy to teach him. On on on. I thought he would pass out before he finished when Vaykt, our Vaurca teacher stopped him. Vaykt went over the estimated fleet numbers of the Sol Alliance, and how they could obliterate us if they really tried. It went on to challenge him in the simulation room, ...it's like this large room, nearly as large as my village, with walls of perfectly clear water-like glass. The room has the controls we would use, and the walls project space and other vessels and objects. From what I know, it was designed by the K'lax for our use.

Anyway, the battle was wonderful. We watched from the sidelines as the noble chosen a simulated version of the HMV Catastrophe. We were expecting our teacher to pick one of their mighty Vaurca vessels, but they only picked a transport shuttle, one that didn't even have weapons! The terms of the fight were clear, whoever is destroyed in the simulation first wins. We could see a view of the simulated galaxy, and that both ships were on opposite ends of local Moghean space. Quickly Vaykt moved their ship behind Chantarel as the noble struggled to man the ship they selected themselves. By now they were absolutely furious, we could hear their tail from outside their control room. Eventually, he got the ship moving, and just as Vaykts shuttle moved out from Chantarel with Moghes itself behind them. Seeing his target on his sensors the noble fired all of their weapons at the Vaykt's small vessel, while barely in range. None of the shots connected, and instead impacted Moghes. Even in a simulation, seeing the destruction unfold was unsettling, but that destruction was nothing as what was to soon occur. In a flash that filled the simulation screens, Vaykts ship jumped into blue space, impacting the HMV catastrophe down its stern and buckling it in two. The abominable wreck lasted only a moment before something in its simulated systems ignited, exploding. The data we could view showed that all hands upon the Catastrophe perished but Vaykt was still alive, ejected out of an escape pod no less. The noble did not give Vaykt any more problems after that, and it was then that we learned our first and most important lesson. "Size doesn't matter.Even the smallest ship can be deadly."

"The recruits are a welcome addition to the fleet and the first of many with a training regiment designed with the help of our Vaurca Hegemon Citizens," said Admiral Gour'zai when questioned after his address and award ceremony.

Unathi Snacks: Food Guilds Find Unlikely Success

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

The Contact War and its aftermath has had an unquestionable affect on the economy of the Hegemony. Hundreds of Guilds have collapsed or have been seriously hampered. But three Guilds, Mo'gunz, Maps, and Razi, have experienced runaway success in the unlikeliest of places: the human market.

These three guilds were all formerly small players in the Hegemony, and are now the three largest Guilds in the Hegemony. The Mo'gunz guild, lead by Guildmaster Nai'kiju Mo'gunz, specializes in popular candies marketed towards hatchlings and urban Unathi. Their flagship product is the Mo'gunz Meat Pie. It is made of processed Stok meat fried in a crispy crust and wrapped for sale. The guild entered into a partnership with the human company Getmore Products to have their pie sold in vendors across Tau Ceti and the Alliance, and Guildmaster Mo'gunz has said the deal has brought them immense growth.

"We have build 26 new stock ranches across the Untouched Lands and hired 350 new butchers," Guildmaster Mo'gunz told us, "we can't keep pace with demand fully because we refuse to industrialize our butchering process. We pride ourselves in killing the animals with our own talons and not letting some machine do it. Our customers can tell the difference between meat killed with purpose from a hunt and meat killed callously by surgical methods. It's right there in the taste. "

The butchering process carries a small-village feel sometimes, as Guildmaster Mo'gunz maintains his commitment to the traditional importance of hunted meat by sponsoring schools to shuttle dozens of urban hatchlings to their stok ranches. The hatchlings are released into the stok pens and pastures where they can hunt the stoks using their talons.

"It's fulfilling to see young sinta who may never see more than the cement buildings of a city ambush an unaware stok and tear it to pieces. We need to makes sure our young keep true to their roots."

The Maps Guild, headed by Guildmaster I'szai Maps, sales cans of salty processed meat that is a popular, cheap source of protein. Due to its high levels of sodium and preservatives, the cans have an extremely distant expiration date on top of being a quick, filling meal.

"We use only purified salt from the Moghean sea for the can's source of sodium," Guildmaster Maps told us, "After cooperating with Getmore researchers and public health officials from human government we changed this to iodized salt in 2457. This makes our processed meats a great source of dietary supplements. I am sure that humans love it because it is a quick, easy source of protein and sodium that you can eat right out of the can."

The Razi Guild, overseen by Guildmaster Keicacu Razi, was the first Guild to sell xeno meat to Sinta. Its corned beef comes from the Earth 'bovine', a large, tasty animal that humans managed to domesticate and tame despite its large size and ability to easily overpower their human masters. The animals are imported to Ouerea where they are slaughtered and canned.

"Humans appreciate a quick, easy snack," said Guildmaster Razi, "That is why Razi-snacks are what they always choose out of Getmore vending machines more than any other product. It is very filling for the price that we sell it for. And we know that Unathi can appreciate the taste of the 'bovine'. To feast on such a large, majestic animal is truly something that we replicate with our product."

The three Guilds have continued to report growing profits each year, and all three have been flirting with the idea of becoming outright subsidiaries of the human guild Getmore Products. But for now, all three Guildmasters have affirmed their comfort in remaining independent entities and putting money back into Moghes.

"We want to make sure we give humans a taste of genuine Sinta culture," Guildmaster Razi concluded.

Hephaestus Protest Turns Into Rioting

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

A week long protest after sweeping firings from Hephaestus mining facilities and refineries throughout Ouerea has turned into a violent riot at the Hephaestus New Skalamar headquarters.

The timeline, as we know it now, is the following.

On the twenty-ninth, Union leaders organized a walk out in response to Hephaestus refusing to negotiate benefit increases or salary raises, as they used to before the Hegemonic conversion. Due to the more corporate friendly laws of the Hegemony, Hephaestus was no longer restrained to having to listen to union leaders. In response to the walkout, Hephaestus fired all employees that didn’t show up for work. Since then the former Hephaestus employees began strikes and protests outside of refineries and mining sites, attempting to block IPC and Vaurca crew Hephaestus was bringing in. Lords across the planet deployed their Watchmen to disperse the protests and ensure the safe delivery of the Hephaestus workers.

Yesterday, protests began at the Hephaestus New Skalamar Headquarters, the protesters consisting of disgruntled employees, their families and pro-workers groups that have been organizing on websites like Ouerea Now. After an hour of protesting, Hephaestus private security began pushing the crowd away with non-lethal measures like tear gas and riot gear. Watchmen from the city’s garrison arrived and began forcefully dispersing the crowd. The crowd began singing the warsong that has been made popular after the raider attack on Terraforming site 47.

Hephaestus Security Officer Duland Eskvis struck a currently unknown Sinta man with his bare claws after the unknown man attempted to shove another Security Officer. After drawing blood, violence ensued as the combined force of the Watchmen and Hephaestus security fought off the rioting crowd. It is reported that two protesters died during the fight and dozens more are wounded, and this news has already sparked outrage throughout the colony world. With Ourea Now receiving the most traffic today then it has since it’s launch.

As of now, Ouerea Now has crashed, likely due to the heightened traffic. However, it may not come up any time soon after an order from Overlord Yiztek, who has declared the following.

“From this point forward, I hereby order the net site “Ouerea Now” to delete its service from it’s servers. Their website has become the organizing grounds for terrorism. As is apparent today, it is being used to organize and radicalize otherwise good Sinta. May the plague of social media end with Ouerea Now.”

It is yet to be known how this declaration will work out, but the Sinta Articles will report on the situation further.

Violence Engulfs Ouerea as Yiztek Retaliates

The popular unrest sweeping across Ouerea's major cities has sent many Lords retreating into their estates as tens of thousands of Sinta'Unathi take to the streets. The unrest brought Overlord Yiztek back from a trip on Moghes where he was meeting the Lord-Regent, returning to a riot-gripped planet. The domestic unrest has intensified since the 6th of March (GST) but in an effort to avoid fanning the flames of peasant uprisings this station has not been allowed to cover the story.

The protests originally began in New Skalamar, focused against Hephaestus Industries treatment of Ouerean workers. The violence and rioting spilled out across the city and transformed into an organized, grassroots movement that has since spread like wildfire. The cities of Yiz, Kr'ath, Trizakael, Tr'ha'rem, and Z'ek are currently grappling with peasant uprisings and local Watchmen are unable to effectively contain the violence. Protestors have been demanding the expulsion of Hephaestus Industries off the planet, the abolishment of feudalism, the end of crushing taxation, and the return of democracy and local representation. While mostly random the rioters are reportedly focusing their violence against local tax collectors and targeting the estates of the nobility. Azi'guwai, Lord of Yiz, is reported to have been struck in the side by a stone hurled by a protestor during a trip to the city, and suffered severe bruising. It is believed that over 3,000 Sinta across Ouerea have been wounded from the violence.

Overlord Yiztek announced his measures to contain the violence in a televised speech at his lavish estate just outside New Skalamar.

"This violence is unacceptable. Social cohesion and normalcy are going to return to my realm. Sinta'Unathi assembling in groups of greater than five without expressed permission from their Lord will be detained, branded a Guwan, and exiled off this planet. The rights of all Lords to collect tax is going to be upheld. If you strike a tax collector then we will remove the hand you struck with. If you go outside after sundown without the consent of your Clan-Lord then you will be jailed.

The Levy's of all of the Lords on Ouerea are over-stressed by this wave of anarchists. To help, I am now mandating all Clans on Ouerea pay-in-kind for this year's tax and all taxation going forward. All Clans will offer two-fifths of their able-bodied men for service to their landed Lord's levy to be summoned at any time and for any reason. Any Clan that refuses to pay this tax will be stripped of their rights as tenants and exiled. Any Clan-Lord that tries to avoid this tax will be stripped of their title and exiled. Ouerea's time basking in the sun under the weak, gentle hands of the xeno administration is over. We are going to instill proper Sinta values back into Ouerea. Only through iron determination will this rebellion come to an end. There will be no negotiation. My will is a return of order and justice, and my will is unquestionable."

It's estimated that Ouerea's Lords have an average of 440 standing men in their respective Levy's, with Overlord Yiztek obligated to a portion of the combined pool coming to roughly 15,000 men. This is severely understaffed to deal with the spread of violence. The summons of additional manpower for levy-men will bring the strength of the Ouerean army to around 150,000.

Questions swirl about the potential response from the 2nd Fleet which orbits the planet. Commanded by Admiral Oyuti Gour'za from his flagship the HMV Catastrophe, the fleet carries with it unmatched firepower and destructive potential, but answers directly to the Lord-Regent rather than Overlord Yiztek. When asked to give a statement, Admiral Gour'za simply said,

"I have been asked by the Lord-Regent to stay my spear. This may change."

Backwater Shaman Visits Lord-Regent

The Izweski Citadel in Skalamar received a surprise visit shortly before noon in the appearance of shaman Vuthix Akhandi, who requested entry to the Citadel along with several of fellow members of his order. The Guwan Guard notified the Lord-Regent of the request after challenging the shamans at the gate. Shaman Vuthix Akhandi, leader of a noteworthy heathen th'akh organization notable for

recently causing unrest in some of the remote parts of Moghes, was graciously admitted to the stronghold by the Lord-Regent and escorted to the Grand Hall under guard.

During his meeting with Not’zar Izweski, the shaman made an appeal to him for aid and protection from the persecution of the Maraziites for himself and his people in the Baandr area. The Lord-Regent seemed reluctant to commit himself at first, but after an hour in negotiations and on the suggestion of his advisors, Not’zar agreed to offer protection in exchange for a pledge of vassalship from the politically fractious Akhandi Order.

Vuthix Akhandi agreed to these terms for himself and on behalf of the rest of the Akhanzi order, and along with his attendant shamans, swore a formal pledge of fealty in the presence of reporters and onlookers. They were then released and allowed to depart from the stronghold to inform the rest of their Order about the new arrangement.

Upon leaving the stronghold, Vuthix and and his attendants were met by a group of Maraziites, who declared that they were all under arrest for illegally conspiring to release heretical prisoners during the cover of a protest in Baandr. The shaman denied the accusations, but the Maraziite group attempted to detain them regardless. His attendants attempted to defend him, but were unarmed and unable to do more than secure the shaman’s retreat into the Izweski stronghold.

Vuthix made a number of appeals and demands to the Lord-Regent to assist his fellow shamans and secure their release from the Maraziite Order. The Lord-Regent spoke with Vuthix for another hour as Maraziites waited outside the Citadel’s outer gate. The Maraziites, barred from entering the Citadel, repeatedly requested that Vuthix be released to be detained. Not’zar eventually expressed his apologies to Vuthix and granted the shaman a helicopter back to the city of Bahard to ensure his safe transport. Vuthix was escorted from the Lord-Regent’s presence by his guards to the Citadel’s helipad, where he was airlifted out of the city.

It is reported that later in the day and back in the safety of his mountain temple village, he publicly expressed that the Lord-Regent had failed to live up to the core tenants of civilized feudalism and that he considered his pledge of vassalship void, calling the Lord-Regent’s honor and resolve into question.

Mass Mutiny: Ouerean Levy's Defect To Rebel Banner

The simmering unrest and growing violence across Ouerea has exploded into a massive crisis that has brought it the attention of even the Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski. Over the past few days much of the militia levy forces summoned and armed by Ouerean Overlord Yiztek have defected to rebel leaders and have taken up arms against their Overlord in a coordinated, surprise attack.

In Um'a'yid the renovated former governor's palace was overwhelmed by an armed mob and defecting levymen. It's ruler, Lord Oquai, and his immediate Clan were able to flee.

Z'ek saw government buildings stormed by armed mobs and its own governor's palace was attacked and the walls breached. Lord Jaizu Ozaiu was unable to flee and he is being held prisoner with his immediate Clan in the castle.

Pazaik, Sahat, and Isoz have also been presumably lost or surrendered to hostile rebel forces as we are not able to get information from these locations.

Thankfully in some cities authorities caught wind of the conspiracy at this time and were able to raise the alarm in the cities of New Skalamar, Yiz, Tr'ha'rem, and Kr'ath, where loyalist forces were able to decapitate the efforts of the rebel forces and expunge them from the cities and into the countryside.

The move comes as a severe blow to Overlord Yiztek. Haephestus Industries has ceased operations on the planet and has announced it will be 'indefinitely' evacuating non-Unathi personnel from the planet, citing unsafe working conditions. Shuttles are already evacuating human staff from the planet's mining sites. Skirmishes are reported in some work sites but we do not have any information on these incidents

It is now believed that the rebellious factions were coordinating using the new technology of social media, e-mails, and the barbarian language of Sinta'Azaziba. One of our reporters found a social media extranet site where a rebel leader, Elistra Kev’vi has written a lengthy manifesto justifying their rebellion. Elistra Kev’vi was originally an organizer of a proto-rebellious movement that criticized Not'zar Izweski and Overlord Yiztek and incite unrest amongst the women of the planet.

The violent and brutal whims of Yiztek has been given nothing but conciliatory overtures from Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski. The two men have ripped from our cities and towns every remnant of democracy. Landed nobility replaced our mayors and governors, who ruled without regard for the health of our communities. They allowed our taxes to skyrocket and our sons to be taken at spearpoint to swell an army they intend to set against fellow Sinta. They exile Sinta on Moghes and quietly send them away to flood our cities and overwhelm our ability to care for them. The callous failures in leadership have deeply wounded Ouerea and have spread nothing but violence, hatred, and bigotry.

Moghes may have once been the jewel of our species but its legacy has been squandered by a generation of violent, selfish elitists who seek nothing but their own personal wealth and power. Ouerea will not be squandered by a select few powerful men. We will not let the mistakes destroy us. This planet is beautiful and has so much potential. We must secure its future for our families, our clans, and our hatchlings. We must see hope in our tomorrow, not dread.

And we will only see the hope of tomorrow with the end of totalitarian rule and the rebirth of our sacred rights to freedom, the rule of law, and devotion to our ancestors.

Admiral Oyuti Gour'za of the 2nd Fleet is currently in orbit of the planet has released his own statement in which he chastises Yiztek in his failure to control the situation and offers a dire warning to the planetside rebellion.

"It is a sad day that an Overlord finds himself cowering before the might of a crowd of the womenfolk. I am observing the situation on Ouerea and am discussing with the Lord-Regent what steps to take. Overlord Yiztek has asked me to use the considerable power of my fleet to, as he says, 'punish' the cities that have fallen. I must be clear that my Lord-Regent has explicitly forbidden me from unsheathing my blade and striking down the rabble of this backwater where they stand. Callously throwing innocent lives away in indiscriminate attacks is a dishonorable tactic used by particular xenos. We also understand there are still many xeno souls on the surface of this planet and we do not wish to stress our xeno partners by jeopardizing their safety. I am assembling my marines and we will do this properly and honorably. We will see how a bunch of womenfolk holding forks and knitting needles fare against breacher suits, stunsticks and tasers. For everyone else we have spears and laser guns. It will be easy."

Restoring The Wasteland: Reclaimed Land To Be Sold By Izweski

The reclamation projects initiated by Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski have reached an unprecedented milestone. Already the four major terraforming camps, Modesty, Izweski’s Honor, Integrity, and Sk’akh’s Glory have individually reclaimed an average area of 137,000 mi². These camps have created oasis of life within the irradiated wastes. The blasted hellscape has been replaced with fertile soil enriched by the rains that the atmospheric generators bring.

With the lands now reclaimed, Not’zar Izweski has announced his new initiative for the fertile territory. All reclaimed territory is claimed by the Izweski Clan, and will be allotted to various groups.

95% of all reclaimed land is being sold to Lords to set up estates, 4% of land is being directly gifted to sailors reaching the end of their commissions, 0.5% is being retained for the Izweski Clan, 0.4% is being granted to the Sk'akh Church, and 0.1% of particular areas are being set aside as protected heritage sites.

Already four new noblemen have been granted titles to land at each camp. Construction Guilds are currently racing to win contracts with the Lords to start constructing new castles, living centers, and industrial or aquaculture farms.

“These colonies are the next step in our ceaseless drive to restore our homeworld,” Not’zar Izweski said in his announcement, “I cannot deny that our cities within the Untouched Lands suffer from the endless stream of refugees fleeing the Wastes. We can begin to lessen the burden upon the patient Lords taking in these large hosts by resettling them in these new colonies to work the land under new Lords. Many of these refugees have never been a part of the Hegemony but one of the barbarian nations that brought such ruin to our home. Entering civilization for the first time will be hard for these dispossessed Sinta, but it will be much better than living within the slums of our cities where they serve no purpose for society or themselves.”

Already Lords of the various border cities of the Untouched Lands have begun rounding up the refugee populations, intent on sending them to the colonies. Lord Mizaruz Gri'zan of Baandr released his own statement thanking the Lord-Regent for his initiative.

“The walls of my city have been besieged by hordes of tens of thousands flooding into our land. Many of these people do not speak Sinta’Unathi, and serve no good here. My tenants have been ceaselessly harrassed and put in danger. Rounding them up and sending them off to be civilized in the colonies is perhaps the only method of preventing the collapse of society itself.”

While the Wasteland is uninhabitable to all forms of life, there are still communities attempting to etch out meager livings in the blasted Wasteland. These local tribes of primitives have repeatedly harassed workers at the sites. They are reportedly attracted to the growing fertile lands like pests to a flame. Already local garrisons have had to chase away several dozen attempts by local primitives to invade the colonies. As well as this, many local colonies of primitives were already present, and levymen of the local lords are continuing to clear them out.

One incident at Camp Izweski’s Glory, granted to Lord Y’aimki Ou’ize, had the Lord repeatedly harassed by delegations from a primitive community near the terraforming equipment.

“They repeatedly came to me and demanded I force the workers to leave their village alone, and claimed the industrial equipment was driving over their fields and ponds. I do not understand how these savages consider their huts and pitiful attempts at ‘farming’ a bunch of sand as more important than our mission here. I do not understand why these detestable primitives do not just leave us alone.”

Cataclysms Heads To Youthstone

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

A diplomatic shuttle was intercepted from the Kingdom of Dominia yesterday as it was travelling to the Hegemony. The shuttle carried tribute meant to be gifted to the Izweski Clan as an offer of continued neutrality between the two powers.

The ambassador from Dominia, Keanu Markarus, was intercepted and kidnapped in the Youthstone star system. He is currently being held for ransom. The Empire of Dominia has refused the ransom demands and is now working on a large naval operation in the star system.

The Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski gave a public speech on the balcony of the Izweski Citadel before a large crowd in which he announced that he was joining Dominia in its operation in the star system.

“An attack upon a diplomatic vessel is an unthinkable crime against civilization. The gifts meant to foster acquaintanceship between Dominia and the Hegemony were plundered by bandits. The diplomat, Keanu Marakus, was meant to be a guest to our system and would have enjoyed the hospitality of Moghes.

Marakus may not have been assaulted under the fluttering banner of the Hegemony, but I am treating it as if he were. This is nothing less than an act of war upon all Sinta. I have issued an order to Admiral Gour’za to take his 2nd Fleet out of orbit of Ouerea and to bluespace to the system. Admiral Yizarus will detach from the 1st Fleet and join this war of liberation, leaving the 1st Fleet in orbit of Moghes and under the temporary command of Captain Tikitizi. We are cooperating with Dominia and will tame our lands.”

Admiral Oyuti Gour’za is the first peasant to be appointed to a military rank. They hold no land or titles, but their conduct within the Izweski Space Cadet Academy was exemplary. He is described by his former class-mates as aggressive and highly intelligent. He leads the fleet from his flagship, the HMV super-dreadnaught Catastrophe.

He is joined by Lord-Admiral Trazarial Yizarus. During the succession crisis between Not'Zar Izweski and S'linzar Ickza, Yizarus defied Ickza and continued to support Not'Zar until his eventual restoration. He is described as a man of unshakable honor and integrity. He will pilot his own Superdreadnaught, the first one ever built and the namesake of the class: The HMV Cataclysm.

Gour’za gave a speech to reporters before his fleet bluespaced out of the system only hours ago to rendevouz with the Dominian fleet Holy Vanguard.

“The pirate scum that plague the frontier are not real Sinta'Unathi or men; they are scum. They are an affront to all civilized people. They swarm through our region of space like locusts, terrorizing peaceful settlements and destabilizing civilization. My fleet will bring Catastrophe to their systems, and one by one they will be routed and obliterated.I have long waited to unsheathe my blade against enemies of Not’zar Izweski, and that time has come. They will no doubt be preparing for our arrival, but no force in the universe can withstand the fury I am about to unleash upon them. They will crumble before my Cataclysm, Great Spirit willing.”

Lord-Admiral Yizarus gave his own statement, in which he affirmed their goals.

“The Lord-Regent has asked me to join Gour’za in battle. I have accepted this order. We will fight as battle brothers and form a shield wall against the forces of anarchy. I am sure that with our joint command and the attachment of the fleet of Dominia, we will have a swift victory.”

The fleet warping to the pirate system is comprised of 9 Bulwarks, 6 Brawlers, and 12 Foundations, and both Cataclysm class super-dreadnaughts It will join the Dominian fleet, which consists of 20 Bulwarks and 10 Brawlers.

Dominian scouts have revealed some intelligence on the system but this has not been made publically available. We will have more on this story as it develops.

The Catastrophe Summit: Dominia and Izweski Hegemony Meet In Youthstone

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

t93ZYp1.png

As a sign of growing trust between the Hegemony and the Kingdom of Dominia, the two factions have released photos of a summit onboard the HMV Catastrophe. Admiral Oyuti Gour’za is shown shaking hands with the Dominian Admiral Han'san. Admiral Oyuti, pictured on the left, is proudly looking towards the photographer while Han'san holds his pose for the shot. Both leaders had previously agreed to command the operation jointly from the same flagship: the HMV Catastrophe. The combined armada involves over 50 war vessels and hundreds of marines, as well as both of the Hegemony's Cataclysm class super-dreadnaughts.

The summit has taken place as the fleets merge together in the Tricardia system, which is relative east of the Youthstone system. Admiral Yizarus is not present in the photo, as they remain on the HMV Cataclysm overseeing the current scouting expeditions to the Youthstone star system.

Admiral Han'san is the first Dominian nobleman to step foot on an Izweski vessel of war. The former privateer is a member of the noble Han'san clan of Dominia. He provided his view on the summit as well as the plans of the two military leaders in the system.

"In the eyes of God I come here to shake hands with an honorable ally. I speak on behalf of the Tribunal in saying that despite our numerous disagreements on multiple fronts, we continue to find the Hegemony a notable state on the galactic stage. I am so confident in the ease of our victory that I have brought my beloved fiancee, Kiua Sal'aka, to witness the glorious justice of God unleashed upon the barbarians of Youthstone. She is here on the vessel now, seeing the wondrous engineering our fellow Sinta'Unathi have crafted. God wills our victory and friendship with the Hegemony."

Admiral Oyuti gave his own speech during the summit before the iconic handshake.

"The Great Spirit has brought two former rivals together in the ultimate comradeship of honorable battle. I speak on behalf of Not'zar Izweski, Lord-Regent of the Hegemony of all Sinta'Unathi, when I say we are honored to fight side by side. I am deeply honored to meet Han'san and his betrothed, who are welcome to make this vessel their home for the duration of our mission here. With Sk'akh on the side of the righteous there is no hope for our enemy."

Despite the formality of the summit, fighting has already begun within the Youthstone system. Scout ships of the two fleets have had several skirmishes in the Youthstone system. Their expeditions have uncovered the st startling discovery that in orbit of the gas giant within the system, the 4th planet in the system, there is a small moon with a habitable atmosphere and ecosystem. The planet houses considerable infrastructure and settlements that are in use by the pirates and the kidnapped Dominian ambassador is believed to be held there. The pirate repeatedly gave discounted ransom demands, going as low as 12,000 credits for the safe return of Marakus in exchange for the withdrawal of the Dominia-Hegemony fleet. They appear to have given up on the attempts as Dominia has consistently refused their demands.

Lord-Admiral Yizarus has told a journalist attached to him that the Youthstone system may actually be the headquarters of nearly all pirate activity within this sector of space, as multiple pirate fleets have been ceasing attacks throughout the surrounding sectors and rallying to Youthstone. The scouts have uncovered over 150 various vessels under command of the pirates and raiders of various affiliations. They are ruthlessly attacking Izweski and Dominian scout ships, while the bulk of their fleets continue to rally around the habitable moon.

None of the Admirals have released information on when the invasion of the system will take place, but it is expected sometime this week. With 59 ships under Dominia-Hegemony command, the battle is expected to be incredibly fierce.

Invasion of C-19B: Liberation Begins

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

After the fierce battle over the moon world of C-19B that saw a massive pirate fleet routed, the combined Dominian and Hegemony forces have already conducted a planetary invasion.

Despite the loss of 6 Dominian vessels and the crippling of 3 Hegemony vessels, Admiral Oyuti, Han'san, and Lord-Admiral Yizarus debated whether to attack immediately or delay the ground invasion until more forces arrived. The attached Hegemon journalist recorded Yizarus arguing for a delayed invasion, advocating they land and prepare defensive fortifications to allow the arrival of heavy weapons. Oyuti vehemently disagreed, saying that no successful invasion was ever won by being on the defensive. He demanded the fleets "attack, attack, and attack. We are invaders, we do not defend."

After more debate, General Han'san sided with Oyuti, and Yizarus then agreed to immediately follow up their victory in orbit with an attack on the planet's surface. The moon world of C-19B is a habitable moon world that has served as the primary stronghold of the multiple pirate factions in this region of the Orion Spur.

Scouts identified four major pirate strongholds on the planet's surface. Each of them seems to serve as a supply depot, black marketplace, shuttleport, and towns. They are surrounded by sheet metal walls meant to keep out the planet's wildlife.

Unusually, many Dominian combat ships are equipped for orbital re-entry. Following Hegemon transports to the surface was several smaller Dominian corvettes, including the Talne-class battlecruiser "Infinite Bastion" as well as three other light cruisers.

The defenders on the planet's surface number at least 10,000 divided between each fortified enclave. The attackers have been split up into four groups of 150 each, using all 600 of the fleet's marine attachments.

One notable battle on the surface outside a walled pirate enclave covered by an attached journalist was recorded. It included Tribunal Commando Kikari Azi and Hegemon Marine Razgaru Okuzi. Transports disgorged spearmen and riflemen outside the settlement who immediately began attacking the walls using explosives. Resistance from the defenders was viscous and fierce, combining ballistic, energy, and projectile weapons against the attackers. While the main force of Dominian and Hegemony marines advanced on the walls, Azi and Okuzi conducted a daring landing directly in the center of the enclave. The two warriors jumped out of a transport that was flying 150 feet over the enclave while under heavy fire. They landed in their breacher suits, leg actuators dampening the fall through a storehouse ceiling and their impact on the ground. Brandishing their energy rifles and energy glaives the two broke out of the building and began fighting the defenders from the inside. The two heavy marines caused complete chaos within the fort, spreading panic through the pirate forces who struggled to penetrate the thick armor. The ingenuity of Sinta'Unathi engineering and the tenacity of the two warriors had them cleaving through the defenders like a Plains Tyrant's stampede.

The battle lasted three hours. After the besieging force broke through the wall with plastic explosives, it caused a cascade of surrendering from the defending pirates. Both of the heavy marines that were involved in the battle are currently recovering onboard the mobile medical shuttle that landed just outside the now-liberated fortification. It is reported they are bonding as battle brothers in their victory.

Hundreds of pirates are currently being marched out in restraints as the liberators pour through the city, discovering a huge cache of pirate loot. Due to the presence of civilians the battle is delayed as the attackers refrain from using explosive weapons against the fortifications.

In the countryside, three Dominian Cruisers are slowly roaming over the planet's surface. Multiple smaller pirate enclaves have been discovered and destroyed by their attachment of heavy weapons.

The other sieges are said to be going well. Lord-Admiral Yizarus has himself landed to oversee an attack on the enclave believed to be the location of multiple hostages being held by the pirate scum. Admiral Oyuti remains in orbit on the HMV Catastrophe with General Han'san, with General Han'san's wife-to-be Lady Rikira in attendance. Admiral Oyuti has already given a statement saying he is preparing a celebration in the ship's feast hall as soon as combat operations come to an end.

Popular Revolution Flips Final Ouerean Cities: Capital To Fall Under Siege

Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist.

large.png?width=774&height=703

Despite the rebels lacking heavy weapons, the walls of New Skalamar are projected to be able to hold for only three weeks during a siege.

Yiz and Kr'ath have flipped to the Ourean Confederation movement, with the Lords of both settlements fleeing to seek refuge in New Skalamar. Now the planetary capital is the only city on the planet that is still governed by a Moghean Lord.

New Skalamar is the capitol of Ouerea and is its largest city. It has grown since colonization from a sleepy farming town to a city of high-rises and office buildings, and the city walls have had to be repeatedly torn down and expanded to make room for the growing sprawl. The planetary government and Guilds have their seats in New Skalamar, and the city itself is home to the headquarters for most industries across the planet. This has made it a prime target for the members of the so-called Ouerean Confederation movement. This peasant uprising which swept through the planet in April has ripped through the entire colony. Many nobles and Sk'akh leaders have been chased out of the smaller cities and towns, taking refuge in Skalamar.

Local Lords attempting to put a lid on the crisis have seen their plans fall apart. Peasant levies assembled to face the roaming rebel armies of the Confederation have all defected to the rebel forces instead.

Overlord Yiztek has repeatedly requested that the Izweski deploy armed forces to combat the rebels, which are now believed to have an army numbering 12,000.

Not'zar has not accepted these requests and has continued to show restraint in dealing with the crisis. "We want to ensure that we avoid escalation. A dialogue must remain open." Lord-Regent Not'zar Izweski said.

The violence on Ouerea has been been focused on the property of the nobility. Many estates and castles have been ransacked or looted by rebel forces. Many high profile noble Clan elders have been arrested by the rebel army. Since April a dozen Sinta have perished as a direct result of clashes between rebel and loyalist forces.

Overlord Yiztek has evacuated his Clan from New Skalamar and is believed to have summoned his Clan's own levy from Moghes to reinforce New Skalamar's garrison. It is believed that the city is now defended by 900 levymen of Clan Yiztek.

Elistra Kev’vi, a Clan-Mother and prominent rebel leader, has sent a letter of demands to Overlord Yiztek ahead of the large rebel army currently assembling outside Kr'ath. Elistra Kev’vi has laid out the ultimatum for Yiztek, making several demands.

The Confederation has demanded the expulsion of all Maraziites from Ouerea and a ban on their ever returning, the abolishment of 'payment in kind' taxation, the abolishment of feudal levy requirements, the return of democratic government, and the creation of a standing Ouerean army under command of the Confederation. The letter threatened to lay seige to New Skalamar if refused, which would 'cause immense suffering'.

Overlord Yiztek dramatically assembled a press conference where he read out the ultimatum to assembled reporters before crumpling up the paper and throwing it into a nearby trash-can.

"I will take it seriously when her husband writes it." Overlord Yiztek said.

With the ultimatum refused, it is now believed that New Skalamar will be put to siege by week's end.
