Hunnewle Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Hunnewle Character Name(s):Newleo Oaken, Corvo Oaken, Corvo Ortenshire AI Name(s):N.E.W.L.E/Newle, Sometimes go by names given by others. Preferred means of contact: Steam (Hunnewle), Text (I can supply my phone number later), and Email. In that order. Age: 17 Timezone: -5 GMT When are you on Aurora?: Normally from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM, but I tend to vary from day to day. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I have honestly lost track. If I had to guess, two years, maybe three. How long have you played on Aurora: Personally I have lost track, again, (Bad memory) but I'd say off and on for around a year and a half, maybe more than that. How much do you know about SS13 (Bay station build) game mechanics?: A lot. I've played on a large assortment of servers, played every role, save for some antag roles. I've glanced through the Bay station code as well. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Very shortly, a friend of mine wanted help with their server so I volunteered. Unfortunately the server didn't get many visitors and died in around three days. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Only once, due to a greifer assaulted me and in self-defense I (accidentally) lopped his head off. Note to self... Don't aim for the head with a hatchet. It was a 24 hour ban. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I love the setting, the variety of each round. You never know what will happen next, plus with the suspicions, intrigue, all of that flowing with real players. The atmosphere system doesn't hurt either. Why do you play on Aurora?: I've been on a fair few servers, (under statement) and aurora seems to be the most... Stable. It's 'quality' never changes, always staying pretty good, even if slow on it's 'dead' hours, still pretty good. What do moderators do?: Moderate! Calmly enforce the rules, ensure everyone is having fun and that no one is being, simply, mean. If they are mean, Moderators moderate. They try to 'fix' the issue the 'mean' person has, so on and so forth. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: I'd think (assume) that being a moderator for aurora means helping encourage better RP, create great characters and even better stories. Like helping out the new guys, the ones who have little experience with this sort of thing, or guiding someone who may be getting a 'tad' out of bounds with their character. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I've wanted to help 'work' on a SS13 server for awhile now. Helping a round run smoothly, and if able, make it even better. And to be honest, I just like helping people. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I tend to remain calm, even when others panic (Except when I am in-character, of course!) I can remain focused and offer my knowledge of SS13 and it's gameplay. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Pretty well I'd say. As far as people being angry at and/or insulting me, that doesn't bother me. I understand most people are just upset about something the happend, in the game or otherwise. I'd try to calm down anyone who would be angry, to be honest. With stress, I will admit that may be a issue at first but I figure I can handle it. Anything Else You Want to Add: Where to start: Some backstory on me. I am currently seventeen years old, Home schooled since the fourth grade. Haven't realy have too many 'friends' since fifth/sixth grade so I am a 'tad' anti-social. I also have issues with General/Social anxiety but I think I've finally got that handled. I may be looking into getting a job next year, just so ya' know. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have for me. (Whew, My fingers hurt now)
Garnascus Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hello hunnewle, your application looks decent however i have some concerns. You say you have some issues with social anxiety but think its handled and are also a bit anti-social. Do you think this will affect you being part of the team? Our staff can be quit amorphous at times and relies very heavily on communication and individual initiative to get things done. Do you think you will be able to do this?
Hunnewle Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Yes, easily. It's more of a in-person issue. I can communicate just fine in a 'work' environment online. That being said, I will be a bit quiet unless I am involved in the topic.
Skull132 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 I'm gonna say this. Hunnewle is someone who's caught my eye for a very long time. Mostly because he's one of those people that doesn't catch much flak, and seems to know how to be cool in a situation. I have never actually even seen him angry ingame.
Guest Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 He was pretty cool today when he asked me in LOOC if I wanted to be a construct, considering a trio of wizards had apparently taken over the station and I was the HoS. Since it was early into the day and I had just woken up, I said no, and like a pal he respected that and didn't outright kill me instead. I had heard earlier that same round that his warden was a real cool resistant dude to the main wizard, and his downfall led to the station being plunged into magical chaos. I've not noticed him in any outstanding way otherwise, but if what Skull says is true, then perhaps that's a good thing. He appears to keep his head down and I've not seen him be upset.
Skull132 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Applicant placed on trial for the next 3 weeks. Please provide feedback as they manage issues that involve you!
