Recommended Posts

BYOND Key: GMR25

Character Names: Dace Morel, Alfred Preston, Konrad Carver

Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis (IPC/Shell)

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Exemption applies.

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Correct.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race:

IPCs offer a mechanically different foundation from which one can build roleplay upon. Extremely different from any other race in the game, it's an entirely new playstyle and a wealth of possibilities. I've never taken the opportunity before to play as anything other than a human, and I'd like to take a chance to try something else for the first time.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

A high level of variance in behaviour, depending on the origins of the synthetic, give wide variety from unit to unit as to how they react to a situation. This leaves the one feature they all share in common, their mechanical nature and the according strengths and weaknesses that accompany it. Overheating, a lack of breathing, weakness to EMP, resistance to physical trauma (pre-nerf), frailty in the limbs, lack of pain. For every weakness, a strength, something they must pay heed to that makes them different from any other species.

What do you like about this character?

For starters, it's a very simple concept to begin with and should make for appropriate practice before I try branching off into more complex characters. A line model bartending unit that OOCly provides a base concept for other 'models' in differing jobs, and ICly is just designed to get the job done and put a faux smile on during the act. It's particularly difficult to mess that up in practice.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10. I've RPed over several mediums over the years, and I'm steadily working on adjusting and improving my abilities, taking into account past mistakes I've made and feedback from others, and working on those to better my roleplaying abilities. At the same time, I strive to put time into researching topics before I apply them to roleplay, whether it's history, arts, language, or what the standard employee record form might look like.

Notes: Do you need to ask for these words, when I already know the answer? "metallic persimmons"

+1 Endorsement. RC's been around a little before my time, but I've always enjoyed playing security with the applicant. We've had tons of fun times. He's chill and his characters are always inspired. Shouldn't be any question.

+1. Very good roleplayer. Have thoroughly enjoyed their interactions with synthetics, and they roleplay an excellent detective character. Would be willing to support them in the chance of having a robutt bartender.

I feel like this is going to be the most racist fucking bartender, I don't believe that infomercial back story one bit, all the tajaran clientele are going to get tableslammed oh god
