rrrrrr Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Current nuke shuttle is the shitty one that's been in use since rev4407. Change it to something better. Add in *An operating table and surgery tools *A cell for prisoners *Generally make it just not shit
Owen Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I agree with that too, I remember making a comment about that during a Nuke Ops round earlier today.
CakeIsOssim Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Baystation 12 Mercenary (nukeop) Shuttle: We might as well just steal this one, if we can. The only thing I don't really agree with is the fully stocked OR. The nukeops should have to steal things that they need (other than guns, bombs, weapons et cetera). The only issue that I can really see arising (coming from someone who is not a mapper or coder) is the shuttle probably won't fit on our current nukeop hideout without some modifications.
canon35 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Looks pretty good, but we should keep the stocked OR. A raider team would definitely need it, and broken hands is basically a death sentence for ops.

Take out the circular saw and drill and they won't be able to do organ repairs and brain surgery themselves, but will be able to handle fractures and embedded bullets. Maybe a rollerbed instead of an all-up surgery table.

Maybe a rollerbed instead of an all-up surgery table. I rarely ever play Nuke Ops, but I would rather it if they had a fully stocked table. I remember a nuke round that happened yesterday I was the Captain and was taken captive and brought to the shuttle. They wanted to take the Loyalty implant out of my head and (I don't remember exactly) have me do something. But since we would have had to go back to the station to have it done it wasn't able to be done. I am not sure how much that really mattered but I feel like the Nuke Ops shuttle should be very stocked to help them do things that they wouldn't normally do. Just my take on it.
Xelnagahunter Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 As someone who has been captured by the nuke ops previously, if you make it so they can easily toss someone in a cell then go back out to the station and mostly forget about them, I'll be furious. I used moments where the op couldn't see me to attempt escaping because trying to talk only landed me a punch in the face, even offering to help them in exchange for freedom. If they can toss me in a small room ALL rp goes out the window. Yeah, they can have a hostage situation, but the hostage gets nothing out of it, they might as well have been killed so they can start a respawn timer. I think the shuttle is fine, mostly.
rrrrrr Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Notice the windows you can break. I could understand not liking the idea of a cell if it's windowless and has a solid door.. but that's not what it is.
Eliot Clef Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I think upgrading the nuke shuttle is a good idea, with a couple of caveats if we're using the one Cake posted: 1) Remove the 'easy disable' on prisoners in the form of electro-pack and flash. Nukeops should have to worry about prisoners escaping and deal with it manually. (Ideally I'd also prefer to see the mini-brig moved to someplace slightly less convenient. Maybe swap it with the medical room.) 2) Nukeop medical bay shouldn't be fully stocked. Getting wounded as a nukeop should remain a much more serious hazard than it is for the crew. The reason for this is simple: The NukeOp shuttle is assumed to be "secret", and is already reasonably well-equipped. They have a pretty easy time disabling critical areas and performing a hit-and-run on the Captain to get the disk, set the nuke someplace obscure/unfindable, and then bailing right on out. As long as they have a relatively straightforward path to killing everyone, I don't think their fallback shelter should have solutions for heavily wounded ops. HOWEVER: If NukeOps were to stop being NukeOps and the "blow up the whole station" option wasn't on the table at all for them, I'd be pretty ok with NukeOps having a proper holding cell and also full medical facilities.
