Reason for complaint: During a nuclear round today (in which I was one of the ops), our team were basically focused on bounty hunting regarding kidnapping heads of staff and the AI. During our very early, "quiet" portion of the round when we weren't even spotted and considered hostile antagonists yet, one stage of the plan had one of our own operatives performing intelligence gathering and sitting on a bomb near the armory. One radiolog in particular that I managed to catch was that a security officer evidently had procured an LWAP sniper rifle under code green, since Excalibur (the op in particular) had thermal vision and had seen the officer through the wall with their weapon either on their armor or in their hands.

I reported that there was a security officer with an LWAP, to TishinaStalker, over adminhelp. He asked me who it was, and I remembered that Jimmy McFly had played the last round (in which I was the head of security) and was utterly obsessed with procuring a sniper rifle. In that round, I immediately shut down his request and said no. Anyway, I didn't get a response back from Tish, so I ended up assuming he had a good reason for it.

When the op team gets stonewalled by command lowering the bridge lockdown, (and myself not having any more welder fluid) we immediately opt to retreat back to the shuttle and pick a different target. Once we exit out into space, all of a sudden I get hit by (and end up absorbing entirely with my armor, thank god) a green sniper beam from space. At this point I groan, and I rally the nuke ops to jetpack north to where this validhunting garbage is and gun him down.

At this point the ops just chuckle, toss the guy's body and gun into space for being such the nerd they were, and I suppose I could've left it at that, but I ended up coming into some really interesting information after the round when I made a comment about it in OOC.

Although I'm sure they can speak for themselves, DatBerry mentioned that they were the Quartermaster/Cargo Tech that round, and did handle the LWAP crate order. Evidently, Jimmy McFly had gotten a "signature" for an LWAP crate, but DatBerry mentioned that it wasn't italicized so it's very plausible the signature was faked.

I don't know about you, but faking a signature as a non-antag security officer in order to get an LWAP crate to pop open, and end up hopping into an EVA suit with a jetpack just to look for a fight with nuke ops, alone and without backup is probably one of the most pathetic examples of a validhunter that I've ever seen.

I don't fully believe your reason since I have played a few rounds with you in sec and never witnessed you making such a joke, and it's looking like straight up powergaming. You do not order LWAPs or Shotguns or experimental weapons if you don't have a really good reason for it.

I personally don't care if it's a gimmick or not (also Tish I appreciate you posting the logs);

this is not acceptable under the circumstances of the round. it is completely unfair to proactively secure an extremely powerful lethal weapon at the beginning of the round without an actual cause to have it. It sets an awful example as a security officer and part of it is the reason why security is being held under such scrutiny by the DO corps right now.

the blatant role abuse needs to stop.

Oh yea i was the cargo tech, it was voted newcops, not much happened at first at cargo other than asmov the ipc assistant helping me around, till mcfly passed by and orders a sniper rifle crate 10 or so minutes into the round the reason was "station wide secuirty" so i ask him to get the warden's signture since the crate is worth 50 points, he brings it back with the warden's name written on it normally, i pda the warden but there was no response, another officer passes by and he doesnt disapprove the crate, since its armory locked i ordered it anyway, asimov helps drag the crate with the officers, later returning with the supply manifest, when i asked about the crate he said it died, i started crying over the crate but then i realize as i was losing counciousness from the neckgrab hug that they shot the crate open, secuirty does an outstanding job of dying in the first half of the round and not picking up the other weapon crates they asked for after shit went down
