Nihiril

While he was running faster than him, the boy was still able to leave the alley before, and made a surprisingly nimble turn to the right. Nihiril could barely stop himself in time as he slammed to the fence up ahead, almost falling over it into the channel. The boy ran for the nearby stairs that led to the wooden platforms down below. At this point, it was obvious he was heading for the sewers.

There is no telling what the sewers are like, and you will surely lose him if he runs inside. You can still catch him, you think... if you jump down to the wooden platform just in front of him, but they could snap and send you into the channel with broken limbs.

Abelard, Sorarne and Ervas

They were right across the river from them, coincidentally. They could see their companion chasing a small child, if they were paying attention.

Nilieril: Nilieril decides to take the risk by jumping over to land in front of the boy. Before slinging himself over the edge, he tries to position himself to land softly like he would when he was hunting in the wilderness.

As Nihiril hits the wooden platform below, one of the planks snap and send his foot into the water below, luckly, he didn't fall through entirely or lose balance. He catches the child in the run, janking him back (with a sickening crunch, jk). The child looks terrified and about to cry and call for help.

Nilieril: Quickly grabbing a hold of the boy, Nilieril covers his mouth to keep him from screaming and pulls him aside, away from the view from up above. Nilieril slowly says, "Don't scream. I want to know what that man told you up at the market. I will uncover your mouth, if you don't scream, you will be fine. Go."

The Argonian responds,"No. And even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you." He adds afterwards, "Now stop wasting my time."

Nilieril

The child cries out, "I don't know anything, let me go! He starts kicking about, trying to break free."

Abelard frowns, "So be it, off to the sewers we go...

Abelard turns to the people behind him, "There are a few monsters inside the sewers so be ready." he start going down some steps and opening a Iron gate.

Passing a child on the way down,Ignoring him and his fellow Companion, he steps over a broken board on the platform.

The sound of running rouses Sorarne, and he looks over to see a fellow companion chasing down a small child. From within the confines of his helmet he frowned. Deeply.

"I shall return shortly. Something is wrong."

And with that, he began power-walking towards Nilieril.

Nilieril: "Boy, I told you not to do that. One last chance, what did that man whisper to you when we were in the market?" Nilieril looks up at the approaching Sorarne. He says to Soranne, "Why hello there. We are just doing our own investigations, this is our lead."

Gesturing back to the boy that he currently is keeping from running away, "So boy, are you going to tell me what he said or not?"

Sorarne and Nilieril

The boy starts crying, "He told me to them... he told me to say you were coming..."

Abelard

Abelard entered the sewers ahead of the group. In the front is a long unlit hallway and one can hardly see a few feet ahead.

Nilieril: He responds to the boy, "He told you to tell who that we were coming?" Nilieril glances back at Sorarne sighing.

The boy shakes his head, as if not even considering the notion of telling, "I'm not telling... no... no!" He tries to fight again, "Let me go!"

Nilieril: Nilieril sighs, shoving the boy out of his grasp, "I don't have time for you. Don't you tell anyone about what happened here." Nilieril looks back at Sorarne, "Let's go I suppose. Better make sure that old Breton doesn't get lost in there."

Nilieril takes one last look at the boy, "Get back to where you live, stay away from that man and whatever is going on here. It is none of your concern."

"Mh...That was a poor decision. He'll find another way to inform "them" of our presence. This is a trap." Sorarne began.

"Not that handling the local children like that is much better. If we didn't have enemies before, we do now."

He walked after Abelard, looking over his shoulder to blink into the darkness.

Abelard spawns a flame in his hand, "Is everyone here? Good, I am placing a trap behind the door, safety reasons of course..."

He begins to cast a spell on the ground, only taking seconds to do. He sends the flame he spawned in his hand across the room.

"Let's see what awaits us, try not and die now..." he grins.

Amartius

Amaritus would attempt to run after Nilieril, but got lost a for a bit due to the speed of the latter. He may have seen one of them entering the sewers below.

Ervas

Ervas go distracted by a noise coming from the nearby alley. He went to investigate, then saw a three Nords talking to a Dunmer. The Dunmer seemed very defensive, somewhat yelling, "I'll get you the money when I have it!" One of the Nords was staring at Ervas, as if he was intruding. Ervas glanced back at table with the Argonian, his companions were leaving and the Nord was still staring at him.

Abelard, Sorarne and Nilieril

The air in the sewers was heavy in moist and cold, making it difficult to breath. They stumbled on an intersection, with three equally dark hallways extending from it.

Abelard

You are not exactly sure you remember the path to the thieves guild, but you think it should be right, or forward. Both ways should get you there. Maybe you should look for some more signs, something familiar.

Nilieril: Nilieril looks over at Abelard, "I think you are forgetting two of us, Amartius and Ervas are still out there and not in the sewers. So if they walk in, they will be harmed by your trap. I say we wait for them to get here to go further on."

Posted

Amartius finally manages to catch up, it's very clear their armor does not allow for much long-term mobility. After a moment of catching their breath amongst the group, they would inquire, "Right, our lead? What do we have?"

Posted

"Nonsence, they are out doing there thing." Abelard glares back, "We will take a left here, I believe there is a drawbridge..."

Ignoring his head, he goes with his gut to the left passage way and throws a glowing orb down the hallway.

Nilieril: Nilieril looks back at Abelard, "And their thing is doing what exactly? I thought we were supposed to be working together on this. If we truly think that those necromancers are down here somewhere, it would be better to wait and go after them together."

Posted

Abelard chuckles, "What are you on about, we are getting INFORMATION on them, they would not be down here! That would be absurd, these are thieves not damn Overlord summoner's."

Amartius manages to catch up just before the trap is set and carry on with the group. As they advanced though the tunnels, they see dim candle-lit chamber up ahead.

You enter a large chamber. You feel a sense of dread as you look around. Many skeletons were nailed upon the walls. Dusty and long dead. In the middle, a large stone plaque embedded in the floor, it read:

“Here lie Brynjolf, Mercer Frey, Delvin Mallory,

Vex, Sapphire, Cynric Endell,

Niruin, Rune, Thrynn,

Vipir the Fleet, Dirge and Vekel the Man.

Members of the Thieves Guild, Criminals all,

Rebels and Traitors to the Crown.

We leave them here not out of disrespect, but to repay their debts,

to serve as a warning to all.

None may work in the shadows, at least not for long.

Let it serve as a warning to all,

there is no mercy to those below the law.”

- Galmar Stone-Fist

Next to the plaque, is a single pot of dried flowers, and some candles, degraded by the air of the sewers.
