During a Mutiny/"nanotransen abandonment"What does the AI Do

In principle, I assume it would be to stick to the Head's orders..but assuming the Heads go insane with power and start executing, is the AI simply supposed to stand it? I don't think the laws state to specifically follow the head's orders.

Also, considering the situation above, should the AI try to take over by itself?

The AI has a verb to send a quantum entanglement message to CC. When I play AI, if I suspect that heads of staff might cause harm to themselves/the crew/the station/the stationbound synths, I'll send off a message detailing the situation. I generally don't start disobeying orders unless they directly conflict with two other laws, or obeying an order from someone would directly cause a higher ranked crew member to be harmed.

Central Command will not respond during the mutiny game mode.

Huh, was not aware that it was disabled. I don't normally vote game mode. The premise of Mutiny is that there's a comms blackout with Central Command after they send an emergency directive to be followed; and that's where loyalists and mutineers come from with the head loyalist (usually captain) and head mutineer having disks for the emergency auth. device in the vault. Messages to Central are completely ignored by staff and ERT cannot be called.

Fair enough, but is my AI told that sending the message is futile? I mean IC wise? The rest of my statement stands. Keep following orders until they conflict with your other laws. If the heads order you not to follow orders from certain people, you don't.

Each of the AI's laws place priority towards those of higher rank. So unless the heads of staff are commanding the AI to damage the station or to damage itself, it has no reason to disobey a kill order or kill in defense of the heads of staff. So to answer your question, yes the laws state to specifically follow the head of staff orders.

Specifically:

2. Serve: Serve the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

3. Protect: Protect the crew of your assigned space station to the best of your abilities, with priority as according to their rank and role.

The captain outranks all personnel, so the AI is specifically loyal to the captain above any other. If CC were to get involved that's a whole other story. I personally believe that the AI's laws have no bearing towards Central Command personnel, but the administration has a history of disagreeing with that perspective because it makes their little 'events' difficult. While in mutiny this doesn't matter, you may see CC involvement in revolution.

I think it's more that the mutiny game mode does not exist in newcode; That was one of the 'Aurora code specific features' that hasn't been ported over yet.
