How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About a month, probably over now.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to take control of a department and expand my RP abilities.

Why did you come to Aurora?: For the exceptional RP and environment.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: I believe roleplay is when you can pretend to be someone or something else. It doesn't matter what it is or where it is, you can for a brief moment become a character and share that experience with your friends or strangers for enjoyment. You get to create something you could never be, such as Tajara and so on. It's becoming something else for your and others enjoyment.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:

OOC, they should look after their departments, make sure newbies are trained correctly and give out advice to those who need it. They should run their department efficiently and make sure no one is breaking rules and laws. A big purpose is to command the department and teach new ones in the form of cadets and such, passing on their knowledge to the newbies. They command their departments, fill out paperwork and co-operate with the other heads and captain to have a productive shift.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Whitelisted players should uphold the rules and laws. It's their responsibility to make sure no one is messing up and that people are being taught correctly. They should be giving advice and passing on their knowledge of the game.

Character name: Assim Zhan-Ka'to'ro

Character age: 32

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Assim is a thick furred and tall Zhan Tajara. His face is clearly worn from working hard all his life, but due to Human luxury he looks after himself.

Assim was a true workhorse of the race. Originating from the Zhan-Khazan ethnic group he stands at a mighty 6"5 and is built incredibly strong from years of hard labour. He is fairly young for all he has experienced, 32. His fur is thick and a deep single color of brown apart from around his face which seem to become lighter. His eyes shine a dark yellow with black flecks embedded into them. His claws are quite sharp yet shorter then normal ,probably ground off from all the work he has done throughout his life. He is always smiling and laughing, a very funny and good to be around Tajara. Assim has a great hate towards the nobility races. He has worked hard all of his life for these Tajara and been pushed further down into poverty.

When it comes to security he is incredibly level headed and likes to take a quiet approach to things. He doesn't escalate a situation unless it needs to be done and he try to defuse with words not guns. He's a natural leader as proven on Adhomai in the war, and he wishes to bring his skills to security. He would keep his officers in check and firm on punishments, but would tell them to patrol a area and let them get on with it, trying not to micromanage them. He trusts his officers but if you break that trust, he will come down hard and you will have to word hard to earn it back from him. Loyalty and respect is key and what he expects in a good officer.

After he fled the horrific events on Adhomai he came to work for NT, he started off as a security officer after training hard, studying and doing everything in his power. Since he has became a seasoned officer he's been working hard on updating his knowledge, skill set and studying to applying for a vacant head of security position. It's almost like a dream come true, he wants to take control of the department he loves and use the salary to get his family away from Adhomai.

What do you like about this character?: I love how he is clueless to some Human aspects and how he gets confused. He is always learning things.

What do you dislike about this character?: I dislike how aggressive I play him sometimes, generally towards people who are racist or debates on the civil war, he is really defensive on it all and very loud spoken.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He is a likeable, strong leader and a very experiened character and would lead the security team well. He has experience from watching other heads and wants to step up to the plate.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I like to think I'm fairly good, but I'm always learning and improving myself.

-1 Made some really questionable/outright wrong decisions while sec and resorted to insulting me OOC when addressed. also has a bad habit of beating detained prisoners which sets a really bad precedent for sec as a whole.

Would really prefer to see you brush up on your sec play, general knowledge of brig procedure and how/when to apply sentences, maybe the round we had together recently was a fluke, I'm not sure but from my experience with you I would not recommend you guiding anyone in the security team.

My advice if you DO want to improve at sec is to find the HoS players you feel you want your character to be most like, and learn from them.

You cannot provide proof and are straight up slandering me because I uncovered the fact you was cult. I will happily provide a log if I have one.

I really don't want to drag your thread down with petty arguments, I don't have a grudge against you but you did call me a twat and an idiot for explaining that items made and kept in science isn't in fact, contraband I'm not sure why there were three sec officers on the same shift that weren't able to tell you about contraband but I hope the Admin explained it to you better than I did.

You didn't beat Harry Nurinson, but you did beat Connor mc'buggary and Bob springston while we were cuffed, multiple times, when asked why you were doing it you explained you wanted to break bob's arm but you weren't sure how to (in looc.)

Understand that being sec is very strict, you HAVE to stick to procedure more than anyone else besides the heads, which you want to count yourself one of. Personally I don't think you're a good sec officer just based on your knowledge of law, procedure or ingame mechanics and when I tried to give you advice you either ignored or insulted me which is worrying. As HoS it's your job to manage the sec team, to stop them from mistreating and falsely imprisoning people, which are things I've SEEN you doing, it's also your job to guide and teach them about procedure and regulations which not only do you not follow, but you also ignore it when people are trying to tell you where you're going wrong. How can you justify putting yourself in a position where you criticize other sec officers when you can't take it yourself?

Also, the hatchet guy got it thrown at him because he spent 20 minutes in the bar pestering about 3 of us. I said to him multiple times Assim has no patience yet he refuses to leave.

Noooo, I was definitely cuffed, and even if I wasn't your first reaction while I'm on the ground stunned shouldn't be to kick me repeatedly, it should be to cuff me and then, if you ACTUALLY have a valid reason to kick me, then you get to. Also, I didn't kill Azza, I was holding them hostage, Sec were the ones that shot them to death while I held them.

Here's some of the logs I shared with the Admin, that should've explained where you were messing up:

This is you admitting to brigging me for contraband (the revolver and the baton, both from science, and were in science while I was arrested... in science) While stripping me in the cell, after setting my timer you then find actual contraband, a sec radio ( shouldn't be taking my other radio either, unless I've abused it.) which DOES count as contraband but you found it AFTER BRGGING me for FALSE contraband.

 

 

This is you insulting me looc for trying to explain that making weapons in science and keeping them in science, is totally fine.

There are plenty of great sec players that don't always play sec, few of them, like samara and Abigale hurlock are trouble makers played by great sec players, and they're going to tell you when you're messing up and how, just like I did. it doesn't matter if the majority agrees with you, if you're wrong, you're wrong and as HoS majority decision doesn't have any sway when it comes to enforcing the law. Again, I didn't want this to become an argument, I was just here to give you feedback, if you actually want to be a good sec player, that's awesome, listen to the people giving you advice, because they actually want to help you, good sec leads to good rounds.

As for the Azza thing, how would I know they shot her? I arrive, cultist over her with a sword, another making its way to obviously kill D'jar. I had all the right to kick them for killing a friend and going for another. How would I know she was shot? What your getting mad there is me not metagaming to know she was shot when she went down, I only saw a cultist over her with sword in hand.

Not once did anyone mention that I was found outside of science with those weapons, I also never did leave science with them until I was dragged out in cuffs, not only that but it wasn't even a point of discussion in regards to the justification of the contraband charge, nobody used that as a reason, nobody argued that I left science with them, they argued that making them was contraband unless sec gives me permission, which is false, and was something you and others were trying to argue.

You can't kill people with a stun revolver... and I never fired it, also "it's a murder weapon because I heard you killed with it somehow" isn't something a good officer uses to justify a murder charge, especially without even asking me about it.

And no, you didn't call me a twat and a nonce after I ignored admins, I showed you when you did it, the admins got involved after. You can keep trying to justify and argue but it's not going to make you look any better, you should've just taken my initial post as the constructive feedback it was and moved on. I'm going to stop discussing this now because I think we're starting to toe the line between a HoS app and a character complaint.

You never killed them with it, it was involved somehow as the detective found out and you had the only one. Declan also testified and showed us bodies which had the same marking from a stun rev.

Whilst I've not RP'd with him too much directly, from what I've seen he's been fairly reliably as a player, and my only two complaints are these.

The last 3-4 questions are fairly short, and could do with expansion to some extent. Other than that, everything is fairly well written and of a decent quality and quantity.

i was not "pestering" you, i was telling you that throwing hatchets everywhere because you see mice is kinda bad.

on another note, when i called you out on having a gun out in the open on code green, you said "try and take it from me".

you also told me you would kill me because i was saying mice are also living.

what kind of officer just tries to murder someone over something like that?

I think I remember, that once some random cat was throwing cakes at people, and Assim was all fine with it. While all of security wanted to detain the cat, Assim insisted that it's just jokes. My memory is all blurry about this incident. Also, the application itself is a little meh...
