nicemoreoften Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 First off, I suggest adding (real) insulated gloves, multitools, and non-basic welders.
Alberyk Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Most of those items are not hard to replace, instead, we should focus more in things that can't be replaced via regular means, such as security belt and heads of staff only items.
Cronac Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 To piggyback on this, I feel like instead of the items being accessible by anybody who goes into cryo and uses the computer on the wall, perhaps the stored items (especially things like security guns) get funneled via disposals (or whatever easily coded, lore-friendly mechanism exists) into a bin/container in the main security office so that it can almost act like a mini lost-and-found (more like ditched-and-forgotten, but whatever).
Dreamix Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 How about instead of marking more, and more, and more items as recoverable (meaning they either can easily be 'stolen' by someone, or we need some complex disposal systems that will easily be forgotten ...we can just develop a "warning system" for people cryoing with gear. That means, if you cryo with your gear once, you get one point. No big deal, happens sometimes. Won't get you banned or anything. But if you cryo with your gear everyday, you will eventually catch some poor admin's attention. Or something, I guess.
LordFowl Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 That very same idea would require as much a whitelist as this one, unless you want the administration to personally oversee it. The easiest and simplest solution would simply be to forbid entrance into cryo if you have any items at all.

Please use cryogenic sleep whenever possible: it’ll free up the job slot for others. And please remember to store your gear in your office/work area before going to cryogenic sleep.
