sonicgotnuked Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 This is a small thread to tell you what to do when the robotisis gifts you a nice shiny mech. Make sure you have heavy vehicle training inside your skills player options trained up. Don't drive them if not trained. Do not fucking use the crash verb unless you are an antag breaking shit Say in your records that you are licensed DO NOT SSD INSIDE A MECH unless you want staff writing a nice note when someone ahelps and most importantly, LOCK Them You do not want some random assistant stealing it, they will lock it for you and security will look at your department after it causes multiple breaches, robotics will also be pissed when it gets EMPed Quote

SomeoneOutTher3 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Odysseus crashes into the mechatronic sensor! ^ Never ever do that. Literally how to get tempbanned. I am inclined to ask why, of all things, crashing into the mech sensor on the departures shuttle will get you in trouble. Does it break the shuttle wall and vent it? Quote
Guest Complete Garbage Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Odysseus crashes into the mechatronic sensor! ^ Never ever do that. Literally how to get tempbanned. I am inclined to ask why, of all things, crashing into the mech sensor on the departures shuttle will get you in trouble. Does it break the shuttle wall and vent it? Well, for one thing, it blocks one of the two access points of the shuttle, and for another, it generates end-of-round redtext, which is a big no once the shuttle docks. Quote
Serveris Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 1. Mechs are not supposed to be on the shuttle. Period. For any reason. 2. Because of item one, the mechatronic sensor was put into play. It is literally a shuttle wall that stops mechs from entering either shuttle airlock. 3. As Garbage stated above, it blocks one of the shuttle airlocks from everyone else. If you have two morons trying to get their mechs onboard, no one can get in. 4. Again, as Garbage pointed out; this is spammy as all fuck. Everytime the mech comes into contact with the sensor, it generates a log. There is no limit to how many times it can run into the sensor. If modmins are trying to wrap up something like EoRg, we don't want all of our PMs/attack logs in our text feed to be washed away. Quote
Nanako Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 fwiw, the original reasoning for the crash verb was for paramedics in odysseus to break through firelocks. though it is also very good for antag shenanigans. i should fix the mechatronic sensor thing, an issue report on github would be good Quote
