Or we can stop getting ahead of ourselves and realize we RP people who work for a supercorporation that could just as easily terminate someone's employment if they sneeze a wrong measurement of decibel.

Like, really, why are we pretending NanoTrasen's completely stupid and unaware of embezzlement (albeit, very small amounts, but embezzlement is embezzlement), members of these "families" getting off scot-free for the worst kind of terrible shit, and then pretending that this is okay to RP.

Yeah, I get that this hasn't gotten to the levels of "absurdly fucking stupid" yet, but aren't we supposed to also prevent it from getting that way in the first place?

So, really, I think this is a stupid thing to endorse. Fun at the expense of severely breaking immersion is not good at all.

Nepotism, embezzlement, and crime exist in plenty of large corporations. The Jawdats haven't done anything near as blatant as the shit that goes on in real life.

While I don't personally like the way the Jawdat family acts in the game, there's more ridiculously illegal nonsense coming out of the Trasen family in a single round than there is in the Jawdat family across every round I've encountered them in. Blatant corruption, nepotism, and illegal activities go all the way to the top if the holiday special events are anything to go by.

And you know, I don't think that's a bad thing, really. I liked the CEO's crazy party daughter.

Every time I stole money I got away with it, even when I get people to investigate it. This was twice. Houssam doesn't regularly siphon from the accounts. Unless you want me to roleplay as someone retarded, either play IA or detective yourself and catch him or just live with the fact that the good guys didn't win this time.

If Jawdat family members are breaking rules when non-antags, then bring it to my (and admin) attention. The only illegal activities I've done (that are canon; money stealing and some subtle threats) were when I was antag.

But what sort of "terrible things", as you so vaguely put it, have Jawdats got scott free over? The only one to my knowledge that has brutalized people has been Apophis, and he's being 'let go' due to the heat he's developing.

edit:

Before you even bring him up: Uaekis is literally only a manager for a jawdat restaurant because Houssam likes his cooking and thinks he can manage people well. pls stop saying he's dicklizard because jawdats

Uaekis isn't actually terrible at all. It's the other true dicklizard that acts as the worst kind of enforcer. The ones that don't think for themselves and refrain from asking questions.

It becomes very difficult to fathom some sort of legitimacy or professionalism when one of your representatives manage to muck it all up and bring massive suspicion onto the entire collective organization.

I would say, since there is a player-driven countermechanism at play, to not worry too much about the OOC realism at play here. They no longer have the entire play field to themselves, and have to start paying mind to their moves, lest Serveris and Doomberg catch them by their tails.

And, again I would say, that this makes the entire thing much more fun. Staff doesn't have to worry about it too much OOCly, because the two forces will keep eachother in line. And players ICly can have some fun, do IAA work or try to avoid suspicion.
