canon35 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Minor suggestion. As it rests now, fax machines are locked behind a ID and only certain roles (Warden, Captain, command, etc) can use them. The fax machine isn't some console that can blow apart all the cyborgs or a machine that can gib anyone from across the station. It should not have a ID lock. What's the use of a fax machine in the vacant office if no one can even use it?
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 that's a good point. I suppose it's to prevent fraudulent or annoying faxes from being sent to CC; but then again that typically doesn't have any tangible affect outside irritating the Duty Officers.
icy_dew Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 you could need an ID lock to contact CC, but freedom for the other fax machines on station.
Guest Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 You don't even need fax machines. Use a request console. As well, the vacant office is supposed to be a once-was office for whoever, and whoever they were occupying that office, they had the ability to fax central. Engineering got lazy when de-renovating the office and didn't bother to remove the fax machine.
Arrow768 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Fax machines can be used to send stuff to centcom and solgov. This is the reason they are ID locked. Sending stuff to central or solgov is a responsibility that "Random Assistant" cant be trusted with. If you want to send stuff on the station, use the request consoles.
