NebulaFlare Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 As the title says. Can we include welding goggles to the loadout? When I play my cat Mo'Taki, I roleplay that she dislikes the uncomfortable welding mask, and prefers to use goggles. They're on the same line as security HUDs or medical HUDs - eyewear for your job. They're small, and easy to pack on your way to work. We can add a welding mask in while we're at it. If restrictions has to be made, restrict it to robotics, scientists, and engineers only. A bartender has little reason to carry a pair with him.
Alberyk Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I am sure that robotics and the like has plently of welding googles.
NebulaFlare Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Not always. When I checked newmap, no goggles. And there's only 1 pair in robotics.
SierraKomodo Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I'm in support of adding welding goggles, with job restrictions in place (Robotics, engineer, atmos tech {Disposal pipes require welding to install/remove. Atmos techs are in charge of disposal pipes.} only. I can't think of any other roles that need it). Specifically in regards to species, with the way a standard welding mask is made, it honestly makes sense that tajara and unathi would prefer welding goggles (Or, realistically speaking, wouldn't even be able to wear regular welding masks - I'd even suggest making that mechanically enforced ;P)
LordFowl Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 By a similar route of logic, a Tajara should have a high chance of immolating if using a welding torch without a proper mask.
