Evandorf
BYOND Key: Evandorf Character Names: Roy Earle, Nia (IPC), Patriarch (AI), Servitor (Borg), Adam (IPC) Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Black Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've been playing on the server, off and on, for a while now. I like playing synthetics but recently I've been wanting to get into another race. Of the alien races, Unathi is probably the one I find most interesting. I actually made my Detective character, Roy Earle, so that I could play more aggressively than I think synthetics should be, and I think I can push that envelope further with a young-ish Unathi. They actually remind me of the Krogan to a small degree. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I plan to play my Unathi in a stoic manner. If a human only responded in grunts or chuffs most of the time it would be weird or at the very least it would be seen as idiosyncratic, but I think it's more believable for a Unathi. I also like the traditionalist/sexist aspect of the Unathi. I don't plan to break any sever rules but it will be fun to cause friction with Guwans, women, or anyone else that he thinks are trying to rise above their station. Character Name: Suvek Tokash Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Since this till be my first attempt at this race Suvek Tokash is sterotypically Unathi. He comes from a minor clan in the city of Skalamar that is composed primarily of traders. Even though they have regular contact with other species, his family, and most notably his Grandfather, are very traditionally minded. They keep many of the traditional cultural mannerisms, expectations, and hierarchies. Suvek especially is of like-mind with his Grandfather and has been heavily influenced by him. Suvek is the seventh of his Father's sons and holds no expectations of becoming entwined in the clan leadership's internal politics. Due to his family's external connections he was able to easily secure employment within NanoTrasen's Security Division and has served for a few years with quiet distinction. He is young (25) and, while he can be goaded into a fight or confrontation, he usually prefers to let his actions and strength speak for themselves rather than boast or throw insults at his enemies. His personal record is not flawless and he has not yet fully adapted to life within the Company. Corporate penalties for infractions are far to lenient for his tastes. He abides by the orders of his superiors mainly due to the fact that demotion or termination would be a tremendous dishonor. He does not, however, respect all the men he's served under. He definitely does not respect the women he's served under and has quickly transferred. What do you like about this character? I like that he is, as far as I know, pretty normal. Cookie-cutter, even. I know that the races have stereotypes based on their lore and it's easy to look down on that sort of thing, but then again I think you need those characters filling the station. Like a lot of characters I play I want Suvek to go to work, do his job, and go home. Icing on the cake might be a decent fight with some criminal he thinks is evenly matched. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Adequate. I'd say on a scale of 1 - 10 I'd rate myself at a 6.5, maybe an 8 on a good day. Notes: None Link to comment

ToasterStrudel
I've had some overall good experiences with Evandorf's character Nia. The application, like they said, is a bit cookie-cutter, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. I feel most of the points expected to be touched upon in this sort of species app have well been touched upon. I feel it is a bit 'short' as an application comes, but concise may be a better term to use in this case, it sticks to the point and doesn't really stray, which is wonderful. Evandorf is already a whitelisted player, so with this and the interaction that I've had with them, I have no doubt that they will be able to uphold the expectations of a Unathi Whitelist. +1 Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
Hello, Despite your worry that you'll come off generic, there has been a surge in Unathi that buck the norm and otherwise horrify the rare old geezers walking around. Having an old-fashioned Unathi would actually be a breathe of fresh air. Your application is solid and you have good feedback so I will be glad to accept it! Link to comment
