Armblade Acts As A Crowbar To Tear Out Airlock Electronics

Once you fully damage an airlock, even if it's bolted, you can 'open' it by using a crowbar to take out the electronics and disassemble it from the floor. If you fully damage an airlock this lets you break out with just a crowbar.

I suggest that the changeling's armblade acts like a crowbar and allows them to tear out the electronics to disassemble a door. If you fully bolt down a changeling they are trapped unless they have evolved lesser form. Allowing the armblade to smash open airlocks will allow them to force their way out of being contained in such a manner.

The consequences may be that a changeling is harder to contain within locked rooms. Arguably this is a strength since it increases the horror potential of a changeling smashing open an airlock to get to you. This allows changelings to escape containment even if you strip them naked and dump them in solitary.

Smashing out with an armblade is cooler and more intimidating.

You need to weld a bolted door shut to be able to crowbar the electronics out once its busted. Unlikely you'd have a welder in solitary. But it would be nice to have the armblades as a default crowbar for non-bolted doors, yes.

Oh yeah I forgot it had to be welded.

HAHAH! They are no closer out of solitary.

Anyway I think it works either way. Need to make use of the brig barricades for solitary anyway.

I'm aware of the welder requirement. That's why this suggestion does not include a request to give Changelings welder eyes. I should have included that this bypasses the welder requirement, but completely destroys the airlock electronics.

I'm in favor of this. I think it would do a lot to build on the image of changelings as fucking terrifying. There could be a little bit of flavor text how the changeling pierces through the paneling, destroying the sensitive electrical components within.
