BYOND Key: Cheap31

Character Names: Kobe Ironmonger, Eli Caldwell, Leon Farric, Caleb Denver, H-3LP-3R, P.R.O.D., Maintenance Drone, Johnny Benford

Species you are applying to play: Unathi

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Green

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, the wiki is my casual reading.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like the idea of lizardfolk, especially honourable feudal ones to feed my inner weeb. I've had a character idea for a while that fit in really well with the lore of the Unathi, so I wanted to get it off paper and into play. Their patriarchy isn't something I'm used to roleplaying very often, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm even looking forward to using their religion as a talking point to maybe entice more players to read the lore pages as obsessively as I do.

Mechanically, they aren't too bad looking either.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Space humanity has become very liberal, Izweski Unathi are not. Unathi are a heavy stereotypical patriarchy even for the more liberal sides of them and this can be jarring for someone who only plays the typical human. Unathi as a species are also biologically different then humans in terms of diet and physical capabilities, this can be a helpful tool to help one seperate their mindset from your everyday human player.

Character Name: Ss'aktha'a Kokhesh

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Ss'aktha'a was born in 2420 on Moghes within the grand city of Da'ha'den. He was born to be a warrior as his father and grandfather before him and shows that through his actions to this day. His early life consisted of formal school and intense training, but his mind wandered when he witnessed the first humans landing on his planet. This lead him to a strange ambition of making it to the stars to fight alongside these strange spacefarers. Eventually, he graduated from formal school and joined the Izweski military under his local lord.

After one year of fighting in the name of the Hegemon during The Contact War, Ss'aktha'a witnessed his home being destroyed by atomic fire. This would lead him to an overt suspicion of humans and skrell in his later years. For the better part of his prime years, he fought against the Traditionalist Coalition with a fervor reserved for those Guwandi whose previous life was ended by nuclear annihilation. Ss'aktha'a was there when the war ended at Darakath, assisting in dealing the final blow to the Traditionalists. When that was over he had to come to the realization that he was homeless thanks to the war, his previous Lord was dead and ergo unable to pay him for his service, and there was no more fighting to do here. He migrated to the untouched lands and was picked up by Nanotrasen to work on their stations.

He now resides aboard the Aurora as a Janitor, but he has never stopped being a warrior. He always keeps his personal spear near him, believing it to be home to his deceased mother and father.

What do you like about this character? I like the fact that he's a racist conspiracy theorist. This isn't something I see portrayed on the station very often which will make it interesting to play out. I think he'll openly be a dick to humans and skrell, not necessarily malicious, but a dick which will make me have a different take on the tired veteran janitor.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? 9/10 I've been at this whole roleplaying thing for a long time. I've made and broken a large amount of habits I can and like put myself into a lot of challenging and uncomfortable roleplaying scenarios. I think a sure way to show my 'veteran' roleplaying is that I enjoy putting myself outside of the spotlight to allow other newer roleplayers to learn the same way I did, instead of just being unenthused about being forced to deal with a newer player.

Notes: I wanna thank anyone who even looks this page over. My last app got no attention from the community even though I advertised every game I played... So, I really appreciate you looking over my blathering and even more if you give me feedback on it.

I now want your personal spear to have a mop attachment on the other side, don't blame me.

Jokes aside I think this story sounds relatively unique and the potential for good roleplay and even good antagging is out of the question, personalitywise and from what I've seen on station you are a competent roleplayer so I give a +1

Hello! Sorry for the delay.

Your character has a solid backstory that portrays the harsh realities of the new type of modern war facing Unathi and its affect on the veterans of the conflict. You also have solid feedback, so I just want to ask about one major part of the character that was glossed over - he seems to be an overtly traditional Izweski supporter, so what faith does he follow? Is he Sk'akh, or is his clan one of the rare followers of Th'akh?

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I agree that religion was kind of glossed over in here, but it is hinted at. He is actually a Th'akh follower. That's why he believes that his parent's spirits live within his spear waiting to be called upon before battle.
