keinto Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 What the title says. I think it would be a great gamemode assuming the traitors coordinate in AOOC with the mercs at the start of the round about kidnapping, providing access, and just generally being a sleeper agent until they betray the crew in the end as they escape with the redsuits. Possible names: Insideout Plot Syndies
alexpkeaton Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 assuming the traitors coordinate in AOOC with the mercs at the start of the round about kidnapping, providing access, and just generally being a sleeper agent This is dangerous. AOOC is not meant for this sort of ICish coordination. Indeed, coordinating in AOOC as you describe would seem to be very much IC in (A)OOC. The merc+traitor roundtype would make this sort of coordination very difficult to avoid. Someone posts in AOOC about being a merc or traitor, someone else realizes the roundtype, and then we're off to the races. A "gimmick" for traitor+merc could very quickly become rule-breaking coordination in AOOC. And while antagonists are expected to check themselves before posting in AOOC, this would make it very difficult to avoid.

People have done the same for crossfire even though both teams start in different areas. Setting a premise for the round and the motives of the antags at the START of the round is completely fine, and I would go as far as to argue that even hour into the round it's acceptable to suggest a change in the story or motivations of the antags if it makes the round more engaging.
SeniorScore Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 ..well I didn't see the post before, but I definitely above of the concept for obvious reasons
