enkas Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 So.. I have had this run through my head for quite a time now, basicly, an ability to purify the cult blades during such rounds. The sword would do mostly the same damage as the normal cult blade, but would inflict burn damage to a cultist wielder. I think it would be also good if it would do additional damage to constructs, and thus be one of the rarely effective things against the stupidly overpowered juggernauts to anyone who would ICly have the balls to go into mellee with a one. Either way, the blade itself could be purified by a chaplain, with somewhat of a ritual, using the tome, the null rod and holy water for some time. To prevent mass production, during each of these steps, the chaplain would take the same damage, as if he was holding the thing, and would take the sword's hit damage, if he was interrupted in any way... Please don't kill me for this silly idea
Valkrae Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I.. really like this idea. It gives the Chaplain teeth against the cult, if some dumb cultist gets bible smacked. You get my +1 for sure.
Skull132 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I will be doing over the mechanics based on which the nullrod works. Mainly because, right now, it's a gank weapon. And nothing more. I may take this into consideration while I do that, so we'll see.
enkas Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Hmm, maybe then, instead of just spamming the null rod, the new way to decult someone should be rather similar? Like... it would need the person to stand in one place for a bit of time, as well as use all the three chaplain's items?
Skull132 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Nope. I don't want it to be a single, forced solution. I want it to work like initial culting works, with choice and consequences for not accepting the choice.
enkas Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Are the consequences the same? Man, wouldn't be very benevolent from the chaplain, if he kept inflicting huge pain and harm, while trying to save a person. The reason why I mentioned the forced sollution, is because it would make more sense as an exorcism on a -brainwashed- person, who is -forced- to do bidding of Nar'Sie, harming themselves to do so... So I doubt pain or death would ICly scare them
Nik Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I saw this, and thought you were suggesting an ethnic cleansing of all the alien scum or something. Yeah, this could be cool, I suppose. I have this wary feeling involving Chaplains wielding sick claymores, like Dark souls Clerics. Which, now that I have said it out-loud, I care less about it occurring and more want to see it.

To a believer of the Nar'sie cult, the act of being ripped from their faith is terrible and painful, and as such, this should be made noticeable. Understand, that to a cultist, you are the antagonist. Also, cultist loyalty would depend, some may flip sides. It's up to them, and guess what, morally questionable things create RP!
