We are three friends who are all experienced RPers who wanted to try out SS13 RP and our friend who was in charge was going to teach us atmos. There was never any moment of metagaming, we simply logged on, communicated through IC /say and went to do our job. There was no communication between the admin and us. We asked what was happening, to which we were responded to with "shh". We can understand how it might be suspisious given the circumstances of our arrival and RPing three brothers, however none of us were going to do anything besides what was asked of us. We were, after all, in atmos. I will link the necessary screenshots to detail our frustrations. Scheveningen Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I'd hazard a guess you were three brothers of African descent but I otherwise don't see why you would've been banned besides mild suspicion unless "three African brothers with same last name join into the round" somehow violates the spirit of the rules. It seems like this is why banning staffmembers should actually wait for plasmagrief to take place before preemptively banning for it since plasmagrief itself is very easy to fix. bombgrief is slightly different but is more reasonably stopped by watching the individual walk out of the lab with bombs in their bag first and stopping them in their place, in case anybody drops that circumstance as a possibility, it's obviously handled differently. Maybe there's more to the story here, though? If there isn't, though, this seems a bit like an extreme measure taken a bit too soon. Intent can only be properly gauged by actions taken first, though. Do you know da wae doe?
Garnascus Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 three black characters with stereotypical black names all playing atmos tech and doing the bare minimum of IC communication. I watched one of you make a high powered pipe and winded all three of you when one of you was about to modify one of the pipes. sure looked and sounded bad to me. Honestly i was in a pretty bad mood last night so maybe i jumped too soon. ill go ahead and lift the bans.
