  1. I'm going to preface this for apologizing for the delay this response has had. Regardless, here are my clarifications/responses that will hopefully clear everything up. Clarified "What makes roleplaying different", specifically roleplaying aspects: Roleplaying as IPCs is different for a few reasons. The foremost is that IPCs can not truly be human, regardless of how complex their programming or lifelike their shell. As an IPC, you can develop personal opinions and relationships, just like organics. However, these opinions and relationships are often skewed by programming and laws that oft take priority over an IPCs 'feelings'. This means that, when you're playing an IPC, you are never going to act truly human. You may be playing an exceptionally lifelike shell, or a wise bartender, but you always have to act in mind that whatever laws or directives you have for yourself will not allow you to act in certain ways. This raises some alarm. What kind of sass are we talking about here? What does it mean to follow orders perfectly but without respect? Clarified respect issues and sass: In regards to the sass, Dahu-2 would be vocally sassy, making snarky comments, but not doing anything that actually impacts their workplace or co-workers. In regards to the following orders without respect, they would not always do so, and if they did, they would only make very pointed comments at their bosses decisions. Respecting the orders, not the person kind of deal. This ties into the "absolute idiot" thing that I am going to be clarifying in the next response. Depending on what we're talking about here, I believe this would actually have the opposite effect in-game. And I want to address the possible issue of your personal opinions towards what you consider to be "absolute idiot" leaders/bosses seeping into your character. You even said it resonates with you, which already leads me to believe it's pretty much going to happen. I am not particularly fond of the idea of an IPC who regularly challenges authority because they do not agree with the authority figure for whatever petty reasons. Clarifying the number of reasonable questions in order: In regards to the sass, that would be snarky jokes and the like. Not all the time, of course, there is a time and a place for potentially rude humour, but that is what I meant by "sass-tastic". When I say "absolute idiot", I'm referring to someone who would order subordinates into dangerous places for no reason, or would disregard the opinions of said subordinates entirely. Someone who does not value the worth of organic life. That is what I meant by "absolute idiot". Just like with the sass mentioned above, they would still follow the orders, at least as best as they can. Just potentially while making possibly rude comments. I understand the concern about an IPC challenging authority over petty reasons, but they wouldn't be for petty reasons. They would, as mentioned, be for life-threatening reasons. On top of that, I, myself, don't ever challenge authority when there are bigger issues happening. Such as people dying across the station.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as an IPC because they are, quite simply, interesting and unique. I want to be able to play as the logical, completely tactless scientist. Most importantly and honestly, though, I want to have fun playing SS13, and I'm thinking that maybe mixing up who/what I play would help with that. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Firstly, the differences physically between IPCs and humans. Most don't feel pain, are immune to a number of chemicals, are much easier to 'heal' than humans, requiring common tools that are around the station, and are much sturdier. Conversely, they are also prone to overheating, especially when having to operate in EVA environments, where they require a suit cooling unit. Secondly, the differences mentally between IPCs and humans. IPCs function according to algorithms and cold logic, as opposed to humans, that can function based off of emotion. While IPCs may be capable of mimicking emotions, they do not truly 'feel'. There is only action and reaction. Ones and zeroes. Character Name: Dahu-2 Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Dahu-2 (Pronounced dah-hoo-too) was commissioned in late 2458 by a small medical clinic in Pheonixport. Shortly before Dahu-2's completion, the clinic faced a number of costly problems, ultimately resulting in them selling Dahu-2 to NT for only a portion what they had originally paid for the IPC to be created. By mid 2459, Dahu-2 had begun working for NT in Pheonixport as a general medical doctor. A year later, in mid 2460, Dahu-2 was transferred to the NSS Aurora. Dahu-2 is a Zeng-Hu Mobility Frame that is quick-witted and clever, having effectively learnt the art of sass from co-workers it had in the first year of its existence. They will follow the orders of their bosses to a T, but may not always do so with utmost respect. Despite this, they are effective at their job of medical doctor, and were designed to provide exceptional bedside care. What do you like about this character? I like Dahu-2 because they are sass-tastic, which always usually brings smiles to co-workers and patients. I also like that they are a relatively new IPC, meaning they have not had all that much interaction with the general public in situations other than saving lives. Their slight issue with authority also resonates with me, as I personally tend to have an issue when my bosses or leaders are absolute idiots. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would rate my role-playing ability at about a 7/10. I am certainly not great at it, but, I do like to think that I do so effectively enough so that people have fun when they RP with me.   3. My first reaction to this was not positive. To start, I'm worried that, if you are accepted, soon afterwards you will "go the way of the dodo." Additionally, I'm worried your attachment to Dawnguard would cause issues when acting the role of the CCIAA, as we are supposed to be indifferent to the affairs and people on station. I would like you to clarify why you want to join the CCIAA. There are other staff positions you could apply for that can allow you to do what you've given as your reason for wanting to join the CCIAA, which is not a good enough reason to join the CCIAA, in my opinion. Working autonomously. You seem not to entirely understand what this means. To work autonomously is to work independently and to take initiative in work. By saying "if given something to do," it gives the impression that you can not work autonomously. To sum it up, at present, this application is not enough for me to endorse you for the CCIAA.
  4. I am going to put a +1 on this because I like the character concept and I really wanna see what an IPC named "Noir" ends up doing, and I have faith that BSA can accurately portray an unbound IPC.
  5. Well. On code blue, my stance is that search warrants shouldn't be required, but arrest warrants are required. That is all.
