monkeysfist101's tajaran application.
monkeysfist101 replied to monkeysfist101's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
There we go. I've edited it with suggestions form various users to make it more Aurora-friendly. I've left in some parts that actually happened and are an integral part of G'nugg's personality. (such as losing the hand in an explosion and retrieving two wounded security officers) EDIT 2: Changed accidental but hilarious in hindsight fact that Grugg and Chance joined the KKK in college. -
BYOND Key:monkeysfist Character Names:Daniel Wahlberg, Hernando Saylor, Static How long have you been playing on Aurora:7 months(?) Species you are applying to play:Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):Light Gray Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:Grugg was my first character for SS13. He's had almost a year of character development and has grown into my deepest character. Aside from that, Loow and Sierra kept pestering me to bring him over. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Despite being born on Earth and being raised by a human family, Grugg is still treated as though he's an alien to human society. Because of this, he carries himself with a chip on his shoulder towards the rest of society. To get anywhere, he must fight tooth and nail. Character Name:Gruggathan Grimes G'nugg Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Grugg was born on Earth in Sydney, Australia to a mercenary and a freighter captain. He and his twin sister, M'rasha G'nugg, grew up speaking exclusively English and knew very little about Adhomai and it's culture. With their parent's often away for extended periods of time on shipping runs, M'rasha and Grugg learned to become self sufficient. M'rasha took care of their parents' house and handled the weekly deposits from their parents while Grugg protected his family's apartment from lowlifes as best he could. It was a good life for some time. At the age of twelve, the twins were met by a NanoTrasen emissary and were informed that their parents' ship was ambushed and captured by an unknown force with all hands assumed lost, orphaning the duo. Taken into a human foster family, Grugg and M'rasha tried to begin life anew. Unlike his sister, Grugg did not integrate well into a nuclear family where the parents were always home. Hiding money in secret, he would look up to the stars at night through the smog and light polution and dream of floating free in space. Working as a courier, Grugg scrapped together enough funds to buy a ticket off world. He lived as a vagrant aboard an old commerce station for several years doing odd jobs for the scum of society. At the age of eighteen, Grugg reconnected with his sister and foster family. Both he and M'rasha were contacted by NanoTrasen as part of an outreach program to children of former employees. In exchange for a ten year contract aboard a space station of the recipient's choosing, NanoTrasen would pay for higher education. Both of the twins were accepted to North Point Orbital Military Academy. He roomed with Chance Mendoza, where the two became fast friends and rushed the fraternity Kappa Delta Kappa together. Sharing the same birthday, the two's drunken antics involved attempting to convince other inebriated students that they were twins from a human-tajaran relationship. After an attempt at learning Siik'maas, Grugg gave up and instead took three years of German. Realizing that he could not major in shooting bad guys, Grugg picked a major out of a hat and spent the next four years of his life learning to be a botanist. Shortly after graduating in 2452, he fulfilled his end of the contract and hired on with NanoTrasen as a security guard on board the NSS Exodus. The station was old and dingy, but still better than most of the choices. When it was announced that the Cyberiad was being constructed and would launch within six months, he hastily got a transfer to the shining star of NanoTrasen's fleet. The proudest day of his life was being on board when the Cyberiad commissioned. Shortly after joining the Cyberiad, Grugg was caught in an explosion caused by a disgruntled employee. In the chaos, Grugg lost half of his left ear to a stray bullet fired from a fellow officer. The explosion left him with third degree burns and eventual skin-graft scarring on his right arm and the loss of his right hand. After stopping the bleeding and applying stimulants, Officer G'nugg returned to the brig and singlehandedly rescued a pair of officers who had become trapped. There was no reward, no ceremony, no medal, only a friendly arm punch from Mendoza. To add insult to injury, Officer G'nugg was denied promotion to Head of Security due to his injuries. Disheartened, he immediately applied for transfer away from the Cyberiad. Once again letting fate choose his future, he drew a name out of a helmet and Placed his application to the NCS Aurora. Glad to see that his lifelong friend, Mendoza, was aboard, Grugg contented himself with knowing that maybe he can finally get some rest aboard this new station What do you like about this character?Grugg is a fish out of water. Among humans, he's just another catbeast. Among his own kind, he is left out in culture and conversation. How would you rate your role-playing ability?9.5/10 Notes:IC, Grugg can't understand Siik'maas. Is there a way to disable this?

Couldn't we place the new items (antennae, satellite dish, Comcast Router box, etc...) in the unused hair slot? I'm unfamiliar with spriting in DM, but I can sprite mock-ups in GIMP and post them here for parts and screens. Any requests?

Departmental Guards (aka camera watching simulator)

Yes, please. It was a blast playing the engineering guard. -
Combat evolved and Halo 2 were by far the best. Solid gameplay as well as the fact that CE actually followed the source novels to the letter. The story in 2 was superb in that you get to see the fate of the unseen enemy commander whom you defeated in the first title. ODST is a gem in itself, albeit a short one. 3 is fun but has less replay value. Reach is okay, but is ruined if you've read the books (lore contradictions and whatnot.) Halo Wars is fun and simple, but there won't be a sequel so don't look forward to finding what happens after the cliffhanger ending. 4 is trash. They traded mechanics dating back to the first game such as the fact that bodies have never disappeared for slightly better graphics. I'm still playing through Spartan Assault, but it's nice to see that they've brought back some of the vehicles from Halo Wars.

That's awesome. I've played with Loow for a very long time and can attest to his RP skills. I'm sure that no matter what he brings to the table, he'll either make you laugh, cry, or spit your coffee into your monitor. +1

BYOND Key:monkeysfist Character Names:Dan Wahlberg, Sammy Wahlberg, Hernando Saylor How long have you been playing on Aurora:5 months (3.5 active) Species you are applying to play:Integrated Positronic Chassis What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Mostly, I'm applying to have an alternate character to act as a sidekick for the IPC, "Sarge." Aside from that, I'd like to play a non-human for a change, though I could care less about the lack of needing medbay. I'm interested in this for purely roleplay reasons. It's really just to break up the monotony of playing as Wahlberg so that the server dosent become stale for me. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Aside from the obvious game mechanic aspects, IPC's have the advantage of supporting more versatile backstories of a creation struggling to find independence despite being viewed as expendable by the organic races. IPC's are conflicted as to whether or not they are truly sentient or just following their programming and are truly just mindless drones. Seen as inferior or sub-sapient, IPC's are constantly struggling to be seen as equals and are under constant pressure for the rights of their species. Character Name:Static Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Specialist Static is a Mark IV Combat Communications IPC constructed for hazardous operations in frontier space. Serving in an all-IPC shock troops battalion, Specialist Static operated his platoon's field radio and worked to maintain communications. In order to free up cycles for communication protocols, his combat programming was limited to basic rifleman training minus ordinance training. He was scheduled to run for 12 months and 1 day before being relieved from duty. After 262 months and 9 days (mission clock) of combat, Static was caught in an explosion caused be a squadmate activating a tripwire rigged IED. Mangled and broken, Static was transferred to a repair depot for recycling. Upon arriving, however, he learned that fellow IPC's in his regiment had pooled enough credits for him to buy himself as scrap and, subsequently, his freedom. For several years, he operated a radio station in New Chicago on Earth before hiring on with Nanotrasen. Despite lacking his left arm, Static has found his niche as a clerk aboard the Cyberiad and is more than willing to share war stories. What do you like about this character? Static is an amalgam of many of my favorite movies, books, and games. He represents the down to Earth, New Yorker squadmate. Aside from that, he has a sliver of a shell shocked veteran personality, despite being non-organic. How would you rate your role-playing ability?4.5/5 Notes:If you insist:♪♫♪♫♪♫

It's four in the morning and you know that you should have gone to bed long ago, but you loathe sane thoughts like that and keep telling yourself, "Just one more chat..." You see a name that you recognize in the list of streamers. Wahlberg, Daniel A. - Security Officer Grade II You figure, "Why the Hell not," and click on his link. The screen background turns mindfuck blue in your dark room, almost blinding you as that God-awful connection chime claws at your brain, prompting you to take our headphones off for a moment. Almost as son as your eyes adjust, the stream window turns to static and slowly calibrates into clarity. On the monitor, you see a young man in a dirty tank top asleep at the desk. Upon his unkempt, medium-length, brown mop of hair is a corporate security hat with what you can only assume is dried blood on the brim. Despite his scraggly five o'clock shadow, you can still make out what appears to be two matching scars, about two centimeters apart, on the left side of his upper lip. Around his neck, a holobadge rests upon the desk projecting his security credentials onto an empty bag of Cheesy Honkers. His right shoulder has a large claw mark about four inches long. From the angle that he's slumped onto the desk, you can barely make out some tattooed lettering through a moth hole in his grey tank top. On his forehead is a sticky note that reads, "Wake if asleep." The room's not fancy either. From what you can make out around the unconscious human blocking your view, you can see that there's a movie poster on the wall for Jaws 37: Jaws Hard with a Vengeance. His bed has plain gray sheets and a lone pillow squared away nicely. On his desk is a half-painted Ripley model with a few paints and brushes laying about. In an attempt to wake him, you give a soft yell into the mic. With a snort, he snaps up. After a few blinks and an eye-rub, he appears to focus on the screen. He gives a bit of a half-salute and says, "Danny Wahlberg at your service."

I agree with this in the sense that jackboots are pretty impractical in real life. http://cdn3.volusion.com/7aztx.j6veq/v/vspfiles/photos/D1307-2.jpg As you can see, they have no laces and sit way too high on the shin. While this is good for riding a horse in the 1930's-1940's, aboard a station, it's just gaudy and uncomfortable. If we renamed it to combat boots, it would make more sense. http://www.armycombatboots.com/images/altama-4157-black-army-combat-boots.png As seen here, these boots actually have laces and make sense that a security team would wear. Considering that the klacking noise is already removed, we can assume that the security team is no longer goosestepping when they walk.

Just a bit of fluff. Setting harm intent and clicking an empty soda can in your hand crushes it. Bonus points for being able to crush it on your forehead by hitting yourself in the head.

I use a Frankenstein of D-boys, KWA, JG, and some furniture bits from a Colt AR-15. Do you go to indoor or outdoor ranges?
