  1. I would have creditors you had I known that you were the original artist, so thanks for that. I darkened the leather, cut down the fuzz, and added the patches for Paradise's pod pilots. They never got back to me so if anybody wants to use them, feel free.

  3. BYOND Key:monkeysfist Character name:Daniel Wahlberg Item name:Replica Fighter Jacket Why is your character carrying said item to work? The jacket itself was a gift from Daniel's wife. It is a reproduction from a classic Sci-Fi movie about Sol Alliance star fighter pilots. As to why he is wearing it at work, it reminds him of family and keeps his hand warm with its cozy pockets. Item function(s):It has no armor value and (if it absolutely needs a function) adds minor cold resistance. Item description:A reproduction of the leather jacket worn by Cpt. Max Kilgore in the cult classic, "Sol Frontier." It appears to be hand stitched with painstaking attention to detail down to the exact placement of each patch. Item appearance: http://puu.sh/il7hU/dd11d90cfa.png Additional comments: I have the sprite ready to go in DMI form. Feel free to use any of the other jacket sprites as you wish with the exception of the Stars and Stripes. My Google drive with the DMI files.
  4. One point for answering an Ahelp. One point for sending a Bwonk. Twenty points for a warning. One hundred points for a ban. One hundred fifty points if it is a perma ban. Shuttle bans are round modifiers multiplying your score for that round by 2 each. If a ban is unjust, the admin loses 10,000 points. Negative points apply. The first admin to reach 25,000 points wins. Happy hunting.
  5. As an arguement in favor of keeping it as it is, I use help intent when moving with team mates in the event that one is knocked over. To be honest, though, I've seen many more cases of a hug becoming a punch than someone accidentally firing their weapon.
  6. I'm all down for Fire and Glory getting this. From what little I've seen, Fire and Glory is very good at roleplaying.
  7. Only one of those is an Aurora regular. The rest were one offs or are still being fleshed out.
  8. Xander is a great roleplayer and it would be nice to see more regulars like him filling head slots.

  11. Upon the conclusion of the fight, a humanoid form quickly shambles over to the victorious human. The figure is a dilapidated human model IPC. his rubber skin is peeling away in patches on his face and his lack of lips leaves his pearl white painted teeth in a permanent smile. He blurts out talking while approaching with his hand extended, but his voice seems to speed up and slow down at random intervals. "FanTASTIC work, sir! You must be, PERSONNEL FILE NOT FOUND! The nAMe's Guy Mann and I'd-d-d-d liKE to talk to YOU abou-ou-out buying stock in AmTek! Here-re-re have my CArd." The sound of a small motor whirs from a small rectangular slot in his wrist, but no card is produced. He stares at the apparent cannibal with his cracked glass eyes and maintains his permanent smile.
  12. We could implement a safety on the firearms that prevents you from accidentally firing and playing the click sound when you pull the trigger.
  13. For the HoS's pet, I'd like to see a Corman Shepherd. It's a crossbreed of a corgi and German shepherd. Basically, it's a corgi with German shepherd coloring.
  14. In theory, yes. I could also sprite us custom non-ss13 sprites that look like our characters.

  16. BYOND key:monkeysfist Character names:Daniel Wahlberg, Static, Grugg G'nugg, Hernando Saylor How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Nine months (give or take) Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: While I'm content playing the lower ranking roles, I've noticed a lack of Heads of Staff and would like to fill these gaps. Why did you come to Aurora?: I hear NSS Aurora is where Arr Pee is at, ye? In all seriousness, though, Aurora is a great server with a good map and good people. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about getting off from a long day at work, kicking your shoes off, booting up the computer, and escaping the world. It's about being the you that you wish you were or getting to be someone the exact opposite of yourself for a short while. For a brief moment, you get to lose yourself and become your character and live another life. Whether you're a green man with a war hammer smashing in a dragon's head or the FNG aboard the security detail trying not to crap your pants at the onslaught of giant purple fish, you get to cut loose and just have fun. At least that's what it means to me. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The purpose of Heads of Staff are to make sure that the departments are running smoothly and to make sure that everyone makes it to the transfer shuttle with all of their limbs still attached. Aside from that, their job is to set an example of the standards of the server for any new players. If the server boasts that they have competent security but the HoS is going around accusing people of being changelings and killing them indiscriminately on the spot, your server will have an issue. They also come in handy for lynching during a crisis. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The job of whilelisted players is to represent the server and all that it encompasses. Whitelisted players are supposed to show new players how a department is supposed to be run and how not to act. When I'm whitelisted, I'll strive to ensure that security is run fairly and without reckless abandon. By encouraging fair times and proper records of breaks in regulation, I'll make sure that the boys in blue are reigned in. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Harrison Bray Character age: 58 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Growing up in one of the few nice settlements of Mars, Harrison Bray lived a relatively prosperous life. Following his family's tradition of military service, Bray attended and graduated from Ft Sunder Military Academy and commissioned into the Sol Alliance Marines. After two successful tours of duty he was honorably discharged in the year 2425 and hired on to NanoTrasen's private security sector later that year. Due to his previous service in the Sol Alliance Marines, he was fast tracked into a leadership position and was given a small team of contract officers that rotated to different posts to protect executives and dignitaries of NanoTrasen. Upon the discovery of the Unathi race and the subsequent monopolization of their home planet my NanoTrasen, Bray's team was selected to secure landing zones for the engineers to build short term structures to ferry in supplies for the more permanent structures. He and his team were the first boots on the ground for the third spaceport to be constructed on Moghes. This would not be the horrifying tale of the team that gets slaughtered save for their gung-ho officer. This would instead be the tale of a man with wasted skills filing paperwork and generally filling the role of welcoming committee for upper management. Despite being stationed on a planet with an inherently warlike species, in his five years working at Spaceport Charlie, not a single shot was fired outside of practice. At the age of 39, he traded his jungle fatigues and sub-machine gun for a suit and sidearm. For the next four years he would fulfill corporate security roles and coordinate protection details for the NanoTrasen higher-ups once more. As per his request, he was transferred to the NSS Ara in the Sol system to serve as its head of security and later transferring to the NSS Aurora upon its construction. What do you like about this character?: I like this character because I intend to play him as the straight man to the station's fool. Despite being the Head of Security, he's not Supercop and he's certainly not a melodramatic, "I never asked for this," guy. He prefers style over function and leads from the rear. IN an emergency, he prioritizes coordinating the team over seeking the glory for himself. What do you dislike about this character?: I dislike that in making this character as un-snowflakey as possible, I've created a snowflake. Bray is not wary of NanoTrasen, nor does he laud it. He treats his job as a job and tries to remain professional while not on break. Despite having previously served in the armed forces, life is starting to catch up to him as he starts to slow down with age. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: I feel that the Heads of Staff for the Aurora should not be the pinnacle of their entire department, but rather be managers for the specialists. For instance, when push comes to shove, the geneticist is better at cloning the deceased than the CMO. In that same vein, Harrison Bray is by no means a superhuman officer, but rather a tactician. Rather than him grabbing five flash-bangs, two tasers, and a set of riot gear to deal with the Nuclear Operatives, he would instead split security into two fire-teams systematically searching the station for signs of intrusion. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd rate my roleplay skills at about an 8.5/10. While I try hard to maintain my characters' personality, I will infrequently go against what I believe the character will do to avoid repercussions. For example, if I figure out a puzzle in D&D, I'll be tempted to be the one to solve it even if I'm playing a barbarian with an INT score of 7. Other than that, I feel that I am an above average roleplayer. Extra notes: I'm applying to play Captain and Head of Security. While I know almost all of the other departments, playing them doesn't particularly interest me.
  17. We could use Roll20. It's a virtual tabletop with a grid system that supports custom sprites and an integrated dice roller.

Please keep the comments sans the puns.
  19. I'm rusty as all-Hell, but I'd be down for playing the SS in CoH1.
  20. If you wanted to, we could just use Roll 20 and teamspeak and use an established system like Shadowrun. If be willing to help set up everyone's character sheets. EDIT: While Skype is great for a small group due to webcam compatiblity, teamspeak is better for handling a large group of players.
  21. I prefer the original /because/ it's less streamlined. It has a much better campaign in my mind as well.
  22. Canceled due to lack on interest.
  23. Standing in the sec lobby, you can watch the security team change. It should have solid walls into the locker room for privacy sake.
  24. I personally don't care one way or the other about cloning. To play devil's advocate for the removal side, though, how about we remove cloning and bring in the ability to rejoin as another character after a short wait?
  25. Not wanting to waste time, Mulder surveys his location for points of interest and tells Matrix to give him a scan of the area.
