  1. More kit stuff with the advice of a dev. Working on other stuff like scanners next.
  2. Hopefully I remedied that with my last post so they dont look so CHONKY. It falls in line with current kits a little more now.
  3. Here's a redone medkit, ATK, ABK and ointment. (outline is just to help against the forum background) Left the medkit grey so it could be easily recolored for burn/adv/oxy/etc, although, Id like to make unique kit sprites for each one rather than just recolors.
  4. I did, look at the spoiler on the last post.
  5. Yea, these were more of a conceptual pieces. Im more than happy to go back and make it mend with the current style a bit more. That is just a mask to allow different colors to be used (like the screwdriver having different handles). That's to help them be easier to click on. Current hemostat and retractor kinda blend in wit the table and are kinda hard to click on due to their thin sprites.
  6. This is more of a conceptual drawing rather than a final product. I think some of the medical tools etc could use some touch up and have some things like the current cautery redone to fit the rest of the tools. I also feel that a new set of sprites can refresh some of the monotony of medical by giving us something a little prettier to look at. One of the things I focused on was making (most) of the tools face the same direction, not including the power tools. The ATK and burn kit I was going to redo anyways to make it look more like a "kit" with the bioglue/synthskins/membranes more visually present on the kits somehow. Working on the Fix-O-Vein as well. I also tried to add a little depth to the tools on the right, but I've shared these with some friends before posting here and they think they're a little chunky which I can understand. I'm sure if I had some feedback, I could find a good middle-ground and make some really pretty sprites to give something fresh to look at. (edit: The red parts are meant to be a mask so that they can have a variety of colors the same way screwdrivers and other tools can have different handles. They look fine with just plain silver as well.)
  7. If that was the case it seems security was slacking HARD and your course of action to have the HoS charged with man-slaughter was good thinking and a good play imo. If what you say is true, garn was too triggerhappy (which is something Ive been bwoinked for doing something very similar. Getting scared and attacking wordlessly). Its unbecoming of a head madmin to show such poor RP which other people would have been ticketed for.
  8. I feel this is more of a failure on securities part. They should have had CSI or equivalent check engineering lockers for prints and unaccounted gloves. Had his prints been found and confirmed that he had no permission to be there, then none of this would have been likely to happen. I feel like Garn should have chosen a different job or atleast different traitor gear and personality. It seems like crankshaft knew it was you even before you did anything overt. You shouldn't be so easy to pick out like that. Did you ask Thomas to return the gloves or ask them where they got them from? If so, I think you did the right thing and sec was just being lazy. If you didnt ask them, or notify them to return the gloves, I can see why they would get jumpy and open fire (although I think they should have not ran away, they wouldnt be searched further, saying you just found the gloves in maint etc. Im sure you could have thought of something garn)
  9. I came with the sseth wave and was fairly new to Aurora when I started. I was on Fulps before here and it was a much different atmosphere im sure you know. The tickets I've received were more of a learning experience and I never did anything out of mal-intent or trying to subvert the rules, just ignorance as I learned the norms of the server. I'm not excusing anything bad I did when I came here but I can assure you that I've grown out of the habits other servers gave me. I'm sure there are people who can testify for me if you ask around. From what I know I haven't done anything egregious, just lots of small things that I learned along the way (engine setup stuff, forgetting char settup options, forgetting to enable autohiss etc). I also pm admins a lot for help or advice (Im not sure if that counts towards my notes or not) Considering that both my app was strong and people support it, as you said yourself, and I don't think the way I used to play should overshadow that. I hope you reconsider as I think waiting months to reapply is a bit excessive. Like so many others I was never even on trial to try and explain myself and try to make amends. If there is any course of action I could take to help buff things out I would like to know. If you do reconsider and instate it, you can strip my whitelist at anytime or administer disciplinary action as you see fit, should I stray for some reason. I'd just like to prove that I have what I takes and that I've matured as a player. On a side note, if my strong app or good feedback we'rent going to sway your decision to deny my app, you really should have just denied it right away. I really had my hopes up but you made me wait through the agony and suspense only to crush my feelings over something that wasnt going to have changed your mind over the grace period. Its just really upsetting to have waited that long and then be snuffed out and told to wait months to try again.
  10. yea, it sucks when you play a job that doesn't lend itself well to RP like someone tucked away in xenobotany or toxins (pretty much any sublevel science for that matter) because you rarley get to interact with people if you're caught up in your work. Although its a good place to get away from chaos if shit hits the fan on main level.
  11. BYOND key: GlitterGuts Character names: Chloe Welsh Adrian McKinnley Jajii Lod'ur Seel'maru Kai'sa Tito Ta'an Kozi Karr' Kor Laux Matzi Lodurr Yagma Izwurla Tatamii Izwurla Yashi Izwurla Kuranai Izwurla ROBO SLOT (for borgs) Merko Izwurla Ishimari Izwurla Zabii Vezel Richard O'Neal CRATUS AEON DAISY ZENOBIA ENIGMA Nolan PAX - T1 Mitchael Roddiker How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About a month and a half, although I played for a little while beforehand on an alternate account. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I really like Aurora and I'd like to be able to take in a little more responsibility, especially during those low-pop hours when there is little authority to guide people. I also think I have what it takes to develop my characters into heads that CC could be proud of. I've been encouraged by several friends to try for CE especially. Why did you come to Aurora?: I really wanted to escape the free-for-all chaos of servers like Fulps or Toolbox where even non-antags will ruin your day for pretty much no reason. Its also nice to play with other people who want to keep IC and act according to their roles. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: I think I've read them all, as well as all the guides for dept operation. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? When I first joined, I didn't fully understand the rules and got myself booted for a week. I've overcome it as it was more of an RP issue, due to ignorance rather than malicious intent. I also got a 1 day ban once because I lagged as antag and it ruined my entire plan and got me robusted. I rage quit but I've grown out stuff like that. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is staying in the role, job or position assigned to you. This means staying in your lane and doing things only that character should reasonably know. That means no janitors doing brain surgery or officers messing with SM setup, etc. This also means acting according to your characters history in a reasonable way, whether that be attributed to the played race, contractor, or home-system. Roleplay should also be about creating opportunities for others to react, rather than powergaming. This could be things like doctors wordlessly injecting people with chems, for good or bad, or being an antag and gassing the whole station with phoron with no buildup or suspense (although that example should be avoided anyway). What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, in game?: A head of staff is meant to give direction to the crew of their assigned department as well as help guide emergency measures should a particular threat pertain to them or their department. They also act as the local authority, keeping their underlings in check should they step out of line, as well as lending the less experienced a hand. A head should also be a role-model, and should be the image of responsibility and willpower in the face of crisis, knowing the ins and outs of their department as well as what to do for each type of emergency. Just generally keeping people from running amok and keeping a clear, safe working space. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I think whitelisted players are responsible for teaching new players, as well as making sure people aren't doing anything that is wasting department resources or putting it in harms way. Some departments more than others can be a bit much to handle for new players so its their responsibility to step in and do it for them should they bork it (IE: atmos, SM, Toxins, surgery, etc.) I think whitelisted players are also responsible for setting a good example for players who are learning, so that they understand the standard that should be held. That being said, I think whitelisted people should give antags something to work with, rather than using their authority to powergame and snuff out the other players plans before they even get to RP (IE, brigging wizard just because). They should help progress the story, rather than halt it entirely, although there comes a point where they do need to step it up and try to stop them full force if the antag forgoes the RP altogether (refer to phoron griefing above). I plan on upholding these by doing round-start check ins. Taking care of apprentices/RA's/interns/cadets accordingly, taking them in and showing them the ropes, or stepping in when I notice something awry. I feel that I have the know-how the the departments to teach people how to get started without completely spoiling the fun parts for them. For things like Hos I plan to prioritize negotiation with antags over outright arming sec to destroy them, allowing the antag to give their part as well as conserve department resources. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Due to instability in Tau-Ceti and Biesel in general, and the new host of synths and xeno-life, Aurora has been introduced to a wide range of diverse races and machines. Tau-ceti is trying to make itself out as a stronghold of freedom and diversity while operating alongside NT supervision. CRATUS is my G2 engineer. He's been contracted to work on the Aurora. Regulations stop them from becoming a head (due to being a contractor), which in his case is an aspiration, to take on the responsibility and duty so his work can be truly appreciated. His work an aurora is helping him work off his life-debt and buy his freedom and leaving Hephaestus to try and become a part of Aurora for good. Once free, they will go through the mediums to ensure their road to becoming a CE is finally realized. Although he doesn't have the qualifications /yet/, he will in time. The synthetic intelligence movement has put pressure on those trying to subdue the rise of intelligent machines as well as working towards better rights for IPCs, as the idea of "sentience" in machines is very iffy for some. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I plan on playing CE and HoP for the most part. Engineering is my favorite department by far, and the idea of leading security or science isn't that inviting to me at the moment but Ill likely warm up to it. I already have a character that's primed and striving for CE so I feel its only natural. HoP also interests me simply because I've seen other who have made wonderful and interesting characters for it and it's inspired me to make my own and try my hand at it. I do plan on playing HoS, RD, CMO eventually but not until I get a grasp of CE or HoP first, saving captain for last. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: I plan on using my current engineer CRATUS for my CE. They works under Hephaestus currently but will soon purchase their freedom (should I get whitelisted) and resign from Hephaestus to become a permanent part of aurora. (after consulting some lore devs, I see that they just aren't experienced or qualified enough to jump from Heph to Aurora overnight.) If for some reason that's not possible, im more than willing to make a new character to become CE. My HoP is called Yama Tsugoyuomi, a human originally from Sol III. My CE would be Xaibu Eksala, an Unathi from Moghes. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10? I feel im good but I slip up every now and then. Im only human after all, but im still getting better every day ❤️ Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I fully understand that and will take whitelists as a sign of trust. Ill do what I can to be an example for others to follow as well as someone CC can be proud of :3 Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yep, I always consult the wikis for whitelists and advice, as well as my in game friends. Extra notes:
  12. Oh, they're a bound chassis owned by Hephaestus themselves. Working on aurora is their way of working off his life-debt to become a free positronic. As it stands, contractors cant be heads, but if they were to finally purchase their freedom, they could achieve their goal of becoming a CE, eventually. They hope that their hard work, diligence, and dedication to their job will lead them down the road of success where his work will be properly recognized. I feel that this gives them both a goal to strive for in game, as well as an extra facet that can played upon by other crew members. Being so caught up in his public image and the image of the station may lead to some interesting interactions between any antag or fool that dares defile his sacred workplace.

BYOND Key: GlitterGuts Character Names: Lily Phitz Kain Kokkeler Laura Angel Ka'rii Tou Tomo Hatake Chloe Welsh Adrian McKinnley Jajii Lod'ur Seel'maru Kai'sa Tito Ta'an Kozi Karr' Kor Laux Matzi Lodurr Yagma Izwurla Tatamii Izwurla Yashi Izwurla Kuranai Izwurla Auto-Doc Merko Izwurla Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/a Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I love playing as synthetics and I feel that this would give me more depth and personality to work with compared to a station-bound. This will also let me experience IPC life for myself and allow my other characters to empathize better. It also would be a nice challenge as borg chargers arent super common and will be interesting to balance my duties and downtime accordingly. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: For the most part, they can withstand more hazardous work environments like Xenobio and Engineering, and especially virology, although their weakness to EMPs is glaring. Even though they have some personality, its mostly artificial, making them much more predictable than organics. IPCs also have a wide array of models, designed for different task. Hephaestus making the harder utility frames, while bishop and zeng-hu focus more on mobility or luxury. These IPCs can be either free or bound. Some IPCs can purchase freedom once a set criteria have been met. In extremely rare cases even stationbounds may become IPCs. Character Name: CRATUS (working off the greek "Hephaestus" theme, an offshoot of Kratos, who is a physical representation of spirit and strength. I can change it if you dont like it.) Please provide a short backstory for this character: CRATUS is a Heavy-Duty G-2 Hephaestus frame, designed to clear rubble and wreckage as well as patch holes in ships and stations alike. Its heavy plating helps protect it from micro-meteors, space debris, and falling rocks. Not needing oxygen, it makes them perfect for working in a vacuum. It's hydraulics also allow it to carry much heavier loads than most organics, for moving resources or machinery into place. They always walk with their head high, their jumpsuit spotless and well ironed. Shortly after creation, CRATUS showed the same symptoms that an organic with OCD would have. They go to great lengths to keep its workplace organized with all his tools in neat, symmetrical assortments, and showing great discontent when in the presence of litter, filth, and pests. They refuse to leave any rubble, blood, or filth at an operation site, and wont deem their work complete until its spotless. This being said, they are quick to make friends with the janitor for the shift, occasionally sneaking them gifts to win their favor. They take an extreme degree of pride in their work, chastising the other engineers for shoddy work or incomplete repairs (I.E. only putting down one glass pane after a carp attack, you know what im talking about). They will do what they can to recycle damaged station equipment and materials, collecting broken glass and fried electronics to be reprocessed into raw materials. They were manufactured on HRS-Lemnos and used to assist in the stations maintenance. After 3 years of service, they were shipped away, being contracted for emergency repairs where it was deemed too hazardous for an organic to preform. CRATUS currently resides on Aurora Station as a maintenance technician, keeping the place organized, safe, and comfortable for the crew. They hold their position with pride and take the training of apprentices with the utmost seriousness. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think Im decent, but Im learning every day. Having a new playstyle open will help me versitalize my role playing abilities Notes: I try to build my characters to grow alongside the crew, as it allows them to create bonds with regular members. (edit - fixed some spelling errors and grammar)
  14. +1 A pleasure to play with and fun to be around. Real good sport and never seen her break character. Keep it up! do it, do it now
  15. Her family are worshipers of Th'akh. They aren't the most pious but they still superstitious nonetheless. This being said, she was raised to disregard synthetics as tools rather than companions. Yagma herself is a bit out of practice but pays her respects nonetheless. She and her father both fell for the Isweski propaganda and are skeptical Unathi from the Coallition. They are loyalists and are cautious of any who speak ill of the Isweski. The atom bomb dropped by the coalition only reinforced their beliefs
  16. Dont sweat it, shit happens. I used this as an opportunity to elaborate on some parts and fix some grammar. Hope you like it ^_^ eager to hear back ❤️

BYOND Key: GlitterGuts Character Names: Lily Phitz Kain Kokkeler Laura Angel Ka'rii Tou Tomo Hatake Chloe Welsh Adrian McKinnley Jajii Lod'ur Seel'maru Kai'sa Tito Ta'an Kozi Karr' Kor Laux T.O.V.I. - 7 Pheraux Ki'rr Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Tan-orange / Taupe Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to open myself up to a new playstyle and see how different Unathi are treated and have to react to new situations. I also think playing as an unathi will give some insight on interactions my other characters may have with other unathi crew. Not only will my interactions with the crew change, but their interactions with me. I could be subjugated to prejudice or innate trust depending on what race/background they come from. It would also be interesting to see how I react to somethings while also trying to preserved my honor. (IE, not wanting to use taser in favor of a baton or melee) Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Other than genetic differences regarding food and booze, they have a much different mindset and way of communication. Their mannerisms, speech, and social code is much more coarse and demanding than the modern human ones. Women are kept as low-class citizens, almost as low as guwan but not quite. The religious preachers are also very highly regarded in what resembles an ancient Human caste system. From what ive read, most unathi protect their honor to the greatest of their ability, making their decisions based upon how it would affect their honor, and judging others based on theirs. Anything from mistreating their wife, using ranged weapons. Other things like adressing yout superiors by the wrong name or being seen with a guwan can harm peoples opinion of you. Character Name: Yagma Izwurla (might play as her husband too) Please provide a short backstory for this character: She is quite stout for an unathi, standing at around 5'9". Her scales are a sandy-taupe color and her tail is plump from years of good eating. Her eyes are a vibrant amber in color. Growing up as a peasants daughter, Yagma lived on an aquaphoros, for breeding fish. Her mother died while she was very young from a malignant tumor that went unchecked. She was too little to remember her but her father still mourns her to this day. Their yields were low but enough to sustain the family and please the guilds. As she aged her father, Zozir, kept insisting more and more often that she take part in a 'wife competition' in a not so subtle manner. Feeling she had no real say in the matter, she agreed. To put things bluntly, it was a disaster. Her etiquette was poor, as she had never had time to practice between the fish farm and being a caretaker for the house in her mothers place. Her scales were not the brightest and she was outclassed in both fields by well-off women who had the opportunity to train for just this occasion. She had lost hope. She paled in comparison to most every other girl there, that was, until it came to cooking. Armed with years of practice and hard work taking care of the house, she blew away the competition with her dishes. Having no mother to teach her recipes, she made her own odd, and sometimes questionable dishes that awed the suitors and caught the eye of one in particular. Zabii Vezel, a merchant. Long of snout and sharp of tongue he won her over in an instant. The way he fawned over her food made her feel special in way that no other had before. It wasn't long before they were married and an she joined her lover in his travels. Seeing an opportunity to use her skills, she was hired aboard the Aurorastation as a cook after catering to some Nanotrasen executives during one of Zabii's business dealings. Zabii remains in the area as a merchant, selling wares and using it as an opportunity to visit her from time to time, although it is hard to line up their schedules to meet most of the time. Yagma feels a new sense of duty to keep the crew sated. because after all, you can work on an empty stomach! What do you like about this character? I feel that she has potential to develop along with the crew, and perhaps form a motherly bond with them through the food she shares. She is also not "too special" or bland in my opinion. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I feel that it can be good, although I need to keep in mind unathi mannerisms as I sometimes slip up as Taji and use firstperson, but im getting better! I have room to grow.
  18. Ah, I did not see that extended section on S'rrendar when I was navigating the wiki. Ive revised my character backstory if youd like to reconsider my app. Feedback is much appreciated.
  19. BYOND Key: GlitterGuts Character Names: Laura Angel. Lily Phitz, Kain Kokkeler Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: white/silver Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like the culture surrounding them as well as the visual aspects. Their culture is steeped in civil war and strife. This allows for some diverse and strong backstories that can drive a character IC in certain situations. Their rich history and race classes allow for some special interactions with fellow Tajara (such as old rebels or feud between a high and low born tajara). Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: There is more inter-species interactions that you could reference such as their many civil wars and religions. You could be anything from an old-world rebel to a high born diplomat or official.. Their physiology also hampers the use of certain items which makes you get creative or seek out specialized gear. Even other than gear their physiology can lead to other IC interactions with the tail/claws/fur (such as human-type pants being uncomfortable, shedding, fur standing on-end, etc) that could lead to some interesting situations. Character Name: Jajii Lod'ur Please provide a short backstory for this character: Her birthplace was of uncertain origin. Taken in as an infant in the holy city of Sana Sahira, knew little of the world outside the fortress walls. She was unsociable and cared little for the outdoors. The sisters of the temple however took great interest in her due to a blue-black birthmark on Jajii's back in the shape of a four pointed star. They took it as an omen that she was affiliated with Messa in one way or another, keeping a close eye on her as she grew through the years. On her 16th birthday, she was inoculated as a misting. Reluctant at first, she found slowly began to befriend her fellow mistlings. Spending less and less time tucked away in her quarters, her sense of distrust became one of friendship, although she remained a woman of few words and a tad shy. She felt a sense of duty as she learned the teachings of S'rrendar, as it encouraged selflessness and charity, as she would likely be a starving vagrant if not for the hospitality of the church. One fateful day, the celestial Raskara eclipsed the suns in an event known as Shi-rra Arr’Kahata, and Jajii fell ill inexplicably. No poultices or soak from the local healer did much of anything to quell her intense fever and frailness. A sun sister came at once to attend to her, and through what felt like several days, managed to purge her of her sickness. Thankful and amazed by the blessed powers the sun sister possessed, she vowed to herself to spread the word of S'rrendar so that others may be saved from such a fate as well, ready to bear the vows and chastity that may be placed upon her. Through years of rigorous training and learning, she is a newly minted sun daughter, ready to finally leave the holy castle to spread the teachings of S'rrendar. She looks out the porthole at her home planet as it feels so small compared to the whole universe that has now opened up for her. She carries the will of S'rrendar and Messa with her dearly and wishes for nothing but to grant those salvation and peace through their teachings. What do you like about this character? She is wholesome and wishes nothing but the best for those around her, although she may be naive and gullible should someone try to take advantage of her. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I believe I can be quite good at it when I put my mind to it. I tend to play supportive roles like Chaplain, Accounting borgs or Librarian because they are strong roleplaying classes that dont carry too much power (such as HoS, etc) so it makes you get creative to achieve your goals.
