How to legally mug someone in Canada!
FinalVerdict3 replied to FinalVerdict3's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Ya dang yanks. -
Woo! Canada, eh! while this is strange, I think the topic should include all sorts of hilarious and absurd laws the govnerment make from European countries and surrounding outside countries. I'm not sure if I'm proud of it but I live in a country where Pepper spray is considered a fire-arm. Yup. However, in Britian it is legal to hold a gun license and the ability to purchese a shotgun. So we technically CAN own a gun. It just takes abit more longer to buy a replica BB-gun because.. well.. UKARA license.. euuuuugh.. So then faggots, what is banned in your country, and why is it abusrd or hilarious?

In my honest opinion, policing LI is stupid because some people will feel on edge of making a decision that might piss someone off and make a complaint about it as they do. If the actions aren't obviously rule breaking and there is no defined rule for it then punishment should be voided. SImple as that. Let the conflict and drama begin!
-
I'll have to vote for the second option.
-
Maybe they don't see it as a challenge but instead absurd rule? Uh.. I guess? Well, the thing is if Gollee is right, then that's pretty fucking retarded for the Head of staff. And I have to assume that the Heads were repeating these phrases over and over again which eventually loses its charm and just makes for shit RP then people get upset because none is laughing anymore then it all goes downhill from there. I'm with you on this one, Bok. You guys can still berate, abuse and by all means make their life a living hell. But the only thing you can't do is scream random obscenities over the comm, unications, because guess what? It's being monitored. Dun dun duuuuuuuun. The equivlant is the police monitoring your druggy-phoneline then you call your dealer and you guys get swatted. Also, has no one ever disabled a camera in a room and used it for shady interrogations? Because similar thing applies here, I would've imagined. Anyway, seems like people love to complain about what isn't broken.

Jboy for Aurora President; 2k16
FinalVerdict3 replied to Jboy2000000's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Sorry, looks like Chauncy has beaten you to the Whitehouse, faget. Better luck next time, in 2020! FURRY OVERLORDS! -
In all fairness you actually did. Unless there's an Engineer who is willing to act fast to pull the window out of the frame, even then the AI might set the grill /on/ which then makes the escape moot. Is there actually even a way to escape? All my time spending in the Brig, I rarely escaped because.. well.. there's not really an escape.. Or is that why the games arcade is there, so you can get a toy and bash my way out? Oh shit, so that's why the arcade is hard, heh. So when someone abuses the Cryotube, they're going to get punished, right? And are Admins willing to always deal with this issue (afaik the other Cryotubes aren't abused) because if they're not then this idea is already dead from the start.
-
Fantastic! That is reassuring. But, it is still something that I'm slightly afriad of happening frequently because of this.
-
Sounds like a good idea, and I like it. Sounds like a plan almost. Almost.. so why? Well, it makes being an Antag a moot point now. Got caught being a ling? Well, shit. Better climb in that pod and come back to roleplay. It seems like you're suggesting Antags get punished for the benefit of others and this is where I disagree. Would you be willing to explore more on the subject of an Antag who 'plays fair' so to speak? I find it ridiculous that the Antag who is supposed to bring a challenge and new scenario to others gets to leave in such a fashion. In my view, it's actually punishing them. You're suspending them of their role as an Antag for what could potientally be, quarter of the round. Half the round is extended mode basically. So why do I think it's punishing them? Because they're not the issue and this suggestion, in my opinion, tackles the Antag. Unless ofcourse I've got this wrong but I feel it isn't the Antags who need to change particulary, it's the Security members. Yeah, yeah. Might get bored of hearing it but it's the truth; Security has a nasty habit of securing a prisoner so well that they never get a chance to break out. No one engages with the prisoner, no one speaks to them, no one gives them the time of day. If anything, I would assume Sec needs a little shove in the direction to start engaging more with the prisoners. And the reason why I bring up Sec and all is because it seems that if they were to engage more with prisoners we wouldn't have this issue. So far it seems like "welp, stunbaton you, cuff, drag, click click click click, click & hold. Dunk you onto the bed and out the door I go." that's my take on this. Though this has been said iirc for a long time and if what I said doesn't work then I'm all for implementing this idea. Another thing I wanted to ask; how will you stop the bad, sore-loser Antag who will climb into that cryo, come back as a new character to just murderbone their capturor? Keep in mind, once their character is removed from Cryo that slot opens up. They might come back as the same role but under a different name, it isn't hard to do and nobody would suspect it as obvious as it may seem. Can you provide a brief explaination of something like this being detected or halted?

Personally I like how it is setup as of now. As others have said i serves to prevent the Heads becoming Antag. I believe the implant also cuts down the amount of people who try to go corrupt because 'trainin day mofokua!'. But thats the mechanic. I feel like it could be alot less ambigeous and more specific otherwise you will have a certain situation you cant handle because of unwritten ambigeous rules of the implant. Thats my only gripe: rules concerning how strong it is. For example; I might think executing a prisoner who had killed two security officers and canniblised the Research Director is a good idea, because they are fucking crazy. And they would make NT look bad when press gets ahold of such information. And to eliminate immediate or more damage, put them down and leave them buried. And yet I have a nagging feeling saying if I were to do this, I'll get poked, told off by Mods, end up with a butthurt shitter and I'll be confused. Thats my view on this. A set of examplew to follow by or rules of how strong and what the loyalty implant does. We can even add a Fallout theme to it, like a training scenario on a TV with film or something. Heh

I apologise, I thought I made it clear I don't exactly support the ban. Well, really in truth I don't as I've stated beforehand my experience with TechnoKat is a pleasant one. However, if this was the average user, things would've been handled alot more differently. But moving on, I find it interesting the point you bring up; maybe he doesn't understand his warnings, or how to improve his behavior. I have to disagree with what you say about not resorting to different tactics - that has already happened and it has no effect. Since you said you have a connection to him and can post his reply, perhaps you can get us an answer from him directly. And as much as I don't support the ban however the facts are undeniably stacked against TechnoKat in this instance.
-
Self-orchestrated push? You mean, to find motivation to make himself a better person? To be brutally honest with you, his entire attitude isn't really that appealing from what I've been hearing. If it's true that he has 20-odd warnings and the fact he is forumbanned leaves me to believe he isn't a person who should be sticking around. To be forumbanned basically means you're a toxic person, unless his offence was something different. Speaking from personal admin experience: You're right, permanent bans are for people who the staff and playerbase wish to never see again. But why is that? It's because they disrupt the community, continue to break order and policy. However, permanent bans are not only for players who like to grief, it is for players who have had warnings, fair warnings and signs and all sorts of material to help them understand their behavior is out of order and needs to stop. TechnoKat appears to have all this and continues to break the rules (as I'm lead to believe), so why is it he SHOULDN'T be permanently banned? I would like to see a reason for him not being punished, maybe there's something I dont understand or I'm missing from this. Don't you even dare think about going there. You're going to call people out for doing what they believe is right, espeically with someone who is a repeat offender? No, just no. Stop and don't continue with whatever behavior was going to follow. I'm sure the OP just wants to have things explained and they're looking for action against a player who disrupted a round. In the likely case Kaipov is TechnoKat, I think we've met before on Sophia Ironmonger character. Unfortunately I don't really know what to say, he's alright for the most part. My OOC experience with him wasn't all bad if any at all. Personally, I think it would be great if there was another way to aid him to getting better but I really can't think of anything right now. He's already under constant supervision and a couple of reports been made against him (IG and here I assume) and he has a good amount of warnings listed.. unless Staff aren't being very clear on what behavior is and isn't allowed to be displayed but I thought they would be clear enough for him to understand his actions.

They made an attempt to sound philsohpical, and failed. Ha! But for real though, that trailer made me feel nausea, euugh.

Character Complaint: Safiya Isra
FinalVerdict3 replied to Frances's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I think I see the issue. All the things you said weren't related to what I just addressed, atleast not from what I can see. Before I go and leave this thread I must know one thing, and just answer it outright and as clear as you can, please: by this point if you claim there is no complaint, I have full faith the mods/admins will move this topic to the General Discussion, as Complaints are SPECIFICALLY reserved for ISSUES regarding characters and their players. If this IS an issue, then clarify right now in a couple of words what the issue is. From what I see: The main complaint was said Tajaran did not follow correct proceedure while modifying their genes every round - this has already been disproven. You then basically segwayed from a potential issue to a matter of opinion and taste. - Telekinetic powers aqcuired through correct proceedure and documents, afaik. You can write naked off, or else you may want to file a report against more Tajaran members, especially the men who appear to roll their jumpsuit down. And the issue with being pink? It doesn't break any rules, infact it could be considered a unique style, if the lore allows it. Specifically I need to point out: Safiya ISN'T normally pink. Majority of the rounds they are NOT pink. - No disrespect, I know you didn't mean for me to come involved in this but I feel I should say something before I sign off on this thread: If this indeed IS a discussion, mods/admins can move it to the general discussion thread, wouldn't you say so? After all this segwaying, the thread lost it's credibility. Hell, no one is even sure if this is a complaint because Frances has an issue, or if it's because they want a discussion. Might aswell start posting images and memes while we're here, right? After all, we can discuss things in Complaints, apparantly. /rant -
Character Complaint: Safiya Isra
FinalVerdict3 replied to Frances's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Why even mention this at all in the complaint unless you have an issue with it? Therefore, it is a key point in your complaint. You are correct. Head of staff and some newer people recognize Safiya. Incorrect. Dyed pink isn't what Safiya's dye is usually. Safiya is out of character here (such as their behavior isn't normal) did anyone question why her fur was dyed in a unnatrual colour? Also clarify what you mean by "glowing". Some speculation during a round; apparantly you wouldn't see the glowing on their head it's more of a meta-mechanic to let players know that their genes are modified, not necessarily visible to the naked eye in IC terms. Semi-correct. Telekinetic Tajaran - provided correct forms have been filled, in many cases it is. Various states of undress? Yeah, no. I've ghosted Safiya multiple times in rounds, she hasn't been undressing. Also as a quick note here: rolling down your jumpsuit is not the same as taking it off and running around the station with your dick out. Solution? Make a rude remark, reprimand her, do something, anything! If you really must make this an OOC issue then why didn't you contact a Moderator/Admin during the round and let them know you're displeased with the way Safiya is being roleplayed, or inquire if it's against the rules? I agree with you. My character, Sophia, wouldn't like it if a Tajaran were to walk around with their jumpsuit rolled down. Especially if it's someone from Science as she expects them to be held to a significant higher standard due to their work and research nature. Know what I would do? Talk shit, make a sneaky remark. Shout at her a couple of times, why not? It may not be an ideal condition to work in but how is it worthy of an OOC complaint, what MAKES it break the point of IC interaction? No. It would be snowflake if being bright pink would have some sort of affect, causing her to burst out in rage to anyone who even thinks about giving her a weird look. Does it? Has she clawed anyone for giving her funny looks because she, quite frankly, looks ridiculous? To my knoweldge, no. If there is something specific I'm not getting, please, feel free to point me to it. But after reading the thread there seems to be alot of segways in these issues that are discussed. I'm only addressing the main complaint you posted, Frances, and not the replies because I don't want to get lost in what we are conversing. -
Character Complaint: Safiya Isra
FinalVerdict3 replied to Frances's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'd uh...Assume this: I've had my encounter with TheFurry and even their character brother, I'm chipping in quickly just to say my piece I had with their roleplay and with Safiya. The key point of this complaint is supposedly surrounding "improper" use of science, or genetic material, as it has been quoted, correct? Otherwise why would there be a discussion about "proper" usage of genetics at all if that wasn't the case. The fact is Safiya ALWAYS gets permission from Head of Staff. She always brings the correct documents to the correct personnel who then makes a decision to either allow it or to discontinue said project. So there we go, bug squashed. Everything else is practically null because the key point here has already been hit on the head. Safiya, just like every other scientist and specifically geneticist, follows the required policy. Nothing more and nothing less. If anyone else thinks it is wrong for Safiya to be modifying genes/being bright pink then why isn't it being brought up in ICly? Why hasn't anyone gone to a head of staff and said to them that it's outragous? Shit happens, people die and then ultimately you will have the salty guy who spends an entire night trying to troll Aurora station all because they couldn't setup their nuke-op plan and get away with it. I think we should all remember not everything happens the way we want it to. Too many people focus on the negatives and not many embrace tragic incidents and try to have fun or create a memory with an incident. IIRC, Frances, you said you were worried about Safiya becoming pink all the time? I can understand that concern and if it repeatedly happens, sure, being poked while in game should be enough to get them to conform to... well, whatever it is. I don't think this is a rule, right? Apart from the main complaint, I'm totally lost as to what is an issue, it seems to be switching from "not getting correct paperwork to modify genes" to "being bright pink". By the way, Safiya hasn't used her powers to cause havoc. Aside from the theory of not having correct documents to proceed with such a thing, why is it an issue for them to have modified genes? -

Fair enough, it seems the Warden role is still useful then, I didn't think of that. But saying that, my time of playing HoS (when I get a chance due to being busy) alot of Wardens already neglect their duty. He, most just run off to "grab some food" when really they're arresting someone as Robocop with access to guns or some other shannanigen. I deal with this issue, ofcourse, but my point is; there are still quite a few Wardens who readily neglect their post. Adding this may give them a new excuse about watching the Armoury if there isn't any prisoners to deal with.
-
So the antagonist needs to come up with new idea's and plans. This isn't an end-all game changer. Although saying that I will have to disagree with motion sensors being in place because Warden's will use that to leave their post and avoid work, which results in a huge fuss and possibly a demotion if they're acting like a newcop about it. I also feel like I should point this out: If motion-sensors are placed in the Armoury then for every round there is an active AI or borg, the Warden's job will need to be blacked out so no one can have it, because there's no use for their role anymore. Do we really want to go that far? I can't possibly see how this would work.
