  1. Reporting Personnel: Avril Perreault Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Corporate Representative Game ID: coC-dBZ2 Personnel Involved: Valentine Sanhueza, Physician (Victim) Johnny Cox, Security Officer (Witness) Ruder Crilma, Off-Duty Crew Member (Offender) Secondary Witnesses: Amelia Dresden, Physician (Witness) Avril Perreault, Corporate Representative (Other, Reporter at behest of victim) Time of Incident: 01:30 (APPROX, SHIP TIME) Real Time: 8:45 PM Eastern Standard Time (Approx) Location of Incident: Medbay, Surgical Hallway Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [X] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [X] - Other: Gross Negligence Overview of the Incident: Prior to the incident, Ruder Crilma was spotted a number of times by Doctor Sanhueza within the medbay without authorization from medical staff whilst off-duty on 2465-7-4. Despite multiple reported sightings within restricted areas, medical staff were mostly unaware of their presence and unable to have them removed. During an on-going medical emergency, Doctor Sanhueza was in the process of transporting a patient to the surgical theater at approximately 1:30 (ST / SHIP TIME). Ruder Crilma then unexpectedly dove from the 3rd level medical rafters with a large metal object in hand and landed directly on top of Doctor Sanhueza causing considerable and potentially permanent injuries in the process. Fortunately, Doctor Sanhueza did not sustain any permanent injuries due to the incident. Ruder Crilma did not show malice or intent to cause harm but still acted negligently, causing substantial injuries to both themselves and Doctor Sanhueza. These actions not only endangered Doctor Sanhueza but also that of their patient who required urgent surgical care, and also slowing down medical operations in the process. Medical treatment was provided to both Crilma and Doctor Sanhueza, thereafter both were discharged promptly with no need for surgical intervention. After the medical emergency had been fully resolved, Doctor Sanhueza attempted to seek investigation with security, but on-shift ISD was slow to react and Ruder Crilma returned to the residential deck before any further investigation could be conducted. Submitted Evidence: No physical evidence could be recovered due to circumstances out of both the victim's and security's control. Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: Leonides Montaigne-Ramsteinn, Head of Security Actions taken: None, suspect returned to the residential deck before further investigations could proceed regarding the incident. Additional Notes: THIS INCIDENT REPORT WAS SUBMITTED AT THE BEHEST OF VALENTINE SANHUEZA (Scheveningen) BY AVRIL PERREAULT (Kaizr).
  2. Sounds like an awesome idea, and we don't exactly NEED a new ship every time given the fact that we could just fight a space brick unless boarding is within the scope of these events. I'm certain there are plenty of people willing to put together simple space-boats for the crew to battle during these sim-events. I'd be more than happy to do it if need be.
  3. No way, Sycmos moment?! I have nothing extra to add that hasn't already been said regarding Sycmos' writing capabilities and personality. They've demonstrated time and time again that they'd be a great fit for the synthetic development team. Great person, great writer, simple as. +1 from cowboy synth player #91827-B.

  5. Reporting Personnel: Lillian O'Doyle Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Research Director Game ID: clh-arPH Commended Personnel: - Asher, Shaft Miner - Leo Barnes, Shaft Miner Witnesses: - Vasiliy Sokolov, Shaft Miner Witnessed the show of bravery, selflessness, and teamwork between Asher and Leo Barnes when they were attacked by autonomous droids and mutated space carp during a mining expedition. Time of Commendable Act: Between 02:00 and 03:30 Ceti Standard Time Real Time: Between 1015PM Eastern Standard Time and 11:00PM Eastern Standard Time (Presumably) Location of Act: Borulai-Lambda, Mineral Dense Asteroid Overview: While undergoing a standard mining operation on Borulai-Lambda, a mineral dense asteroid located near the SCCV Horizon's designated patrol sector, both Asher and Leo Barnes exhibited extreme dedication to both the company and Stellar Corporate Conglomerate at large while displaying selflessness in the face of mortal danger. Shaft Miner Leo Barnes was attacked and severely wounded by one of the most dangerous sub-species of space carp, a reaver. Despite suffering a broken arm and severe lacerations from the encounter, Mister Barnes prioritized his work and was assisted by Asher in continuing the mining operation alongside Mister Sokolov. The trio then happened upon an abandoned outpost wherein they engaged a salvage operation and fought off a swarm of autonomous synthetics that severely damaged Asher's frame and wounded Barnes further. Despite all of this Asher and Barnes attained nearly 3x the standard material yield for a typical mining expedition and acquired a plethora of data, esoteric equipment, and items for the research team. This massive yield subsequently expanded the research team's ability to partake in typically cost prohibitive experiments in the field of weapons testing, autonomous EVA life support systems, and much more. I can confidently say that their actions go above and beyond the standard set for mining staff working within the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, taking much greater risks than is expected of them for the sake of progressing the SCCV Horizon's mission of research and phoron discovery. Additional Notes: N/A
  6. WHOA!!! BEAR IS A SCALIE!?!?!??!?! REAL!?!?!? Looks like he's finally been cured of his chronic furryitis and is now instead becoming a scalie. Jokes aside Bear is without a question one of the best role-players I've ever met, boasting a broad portfolio of distinctive and special characters. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he'll make a fine addition to the hisser brigade. +1.01
  7. Just gonna add a teeny tiny note: As someone who was playing engineering that round, the level of destruction was MORE than enough.
  8. NO WAY! Nienna becoming a lizard player!? REAL!? Provenance & Gulrez are two amazing synthetic characters and Nienna is an awesome person overall. I can't begin to describe the amount depth behind their characters which makes each and every one of them unique and fun to engage with. A big old +1.5 from me!
  9. Having known Clem for upwards of a year and experiencing the plethora of characters they have to offer I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Clem would make a fantastic addition to the command team. +1.5
  10. Warning! Hot take ahead! As of now, I have no major issues with Unathi lore as it stands. While one might argue that it's stagnated over time, that argument no longer applies as development has once again spurred through news articles. My biggest gripe with it is the current Grim Compact lore, and I've gone into detail with my opinion and some of the changes that I would like to see implemented in a post above. Lore developers for the various species' working together is critical to ensuring a coherent and realistic lore setting. I personally love the way each species intertwines with the universe around them, and there is always room to expand on it. (Sorry if this answer seems short, not much to say!) I fully understand, and have no issues with that! When you take up a development position you make a commitment to the team and to not follow through on it without good reason is disingenuous. I fully plan to follow through on this commitment to both the team and the community to ensure that the lore continues to expand at a healthy rate.
  11. Interesting question! Overall, I personally am not a huge fan the "gritty" nature of the lore and how it dominates nearly everything that takes place. As you said, suffering and despair have found their ways into almost every aspect of the lore. However, does that mean I want to see it changed? No. Do I dislike it? No. In regards to Unathi? I think it's a breath of fresh air, as the lore certainly takes after some more fantastical and unique themes, many of which I mentioned in my arc. It's a pleasant step away from the usual doom and gloom without feeling forced or unrealistic in the setting. So in all, I would like to see Unathi lore continue as is because it offers a unique and diverse world to explore through RP. Lil' sidenote, sorry if the answer doesn't meet expectations! It's a great question, and admittedly one that I had a lot of trouble formulating a good answer to without making it sound like I hate the Auroraverse lore or something along those lines.
  12. I like to think of myself as smart-ish when it comes to these kinds of statements, but I will have to ask you to clarify what you mean by this. 😅 Is the question about my thoughts on how Unathi fit into the Aurora?
  13. Having quickly given it a once over, I personally agree with a lot of the things brought up. Especially some of the concepts brought up by DeadLantern & Boggle. Like a few others stated, the Grim Compact has a notable issue with fitting into the universe the lore team has created. It's a fantastical, and in all honesty somewhat odd tale of two star-crossed lovers with various inconsistencies along the way. While this isn't innocuous to the lore, it is in need of some changes. Overall, however, the concept at face-value is a very good one! As for what changes I would personally like to see with the Compact? There's a few things: Cultural Changes - It's been decades, and the Sinta'Unathi who serve within the Compact lack any defining cultural traits, and the fleets overall feel like slightly different variants of the other. We receive little in the realm of the distinct cultures among each crew despite vastly different leadership styles, and I really think this is a topic that could be touched up. Hashing out how these seasoned pirates differ from the normal Unathi is no doubt something that needs to take priority. Adding More Notable Characters - I personally feel that while the Grim Compact's premise is that of two lovers running a pirate fleet, we hear nothing about the smaller players in this Compact. Fleets of nearly 70 warships a piece can't be governed by one individual. I feel that the addition of lower ranking yet influential characters would be a healthy way to diversify the lore and bring a fresh topic to work with in the future. More Player Character Accessibility - As stated in the aforementioned thread, adding more variability to the Grim Compact in the way of sub-factions, leader figures, or possibly even expanding it into different sub-fleets would allow players to make much more unique and engaging characters. The Compact is evidently, not the most organized of groups, hence representing that through the portrayal of different factions and microcultures among said factions provides the players much more breathing room compared to what we currently have. Now! There isn't much else I can say without repeating what others have said, these are all very barebones and basic ideas that I am yet to truly delve into. To sum it up: Diversify the lore, give it some more bulk and character. The Grim Compact is an amazing baseline that I personally think just needs a rework to truly shine.
  14. Ckey/BYOND Username: Kaizr Position Being Applied For: Unathi Lore Deputy Have you read the Lore Team Rules and Regulations wiki page?: Yes. Past Experiences/Knowledge: Unfortunately, I have no prior experience in this field. I’ve done a fair share of worldbuilding and lore writing for DND campaigns and the likes, but other than that I am green. However, I wish to start somewhere, and I feel that this position is an ample opportunity to begin my journey. Examples of Past Work: And again, as I’ve never worked in these positions, I have no examples of prior work in this particular field. I am willing to dig into some recent things I’ve written recently if that provides a frame of reference. Special Requirement: Additional Comments: I’ve near fully written out the arc above with a roadmap, articles, and events, but I will not be sharing it here as I was advised not to. Please note that it IS VERY BAREBONES and there is a lot to work out with the concept, but I am always willing to add to it! However, as this may come up, I must mention my past. I had a troubled first few months on Aurora, and have done things that I have regret. I've touched on it in many places and entirely understand my mistakes and how they affected others. Once more, I am sorry. There is nothing I can do but say sorry, move on and better myself. I am confident that I am ready to step up to this position, but I also understand that my past will shadow me for the rest of my time here.
  15. I've been playing one to two rounds everyday as of late and I live in EST (with exemptions, ofc), I've also been advertising my application once at the end of every round. I am reluctant to ask anyone directly for feedback, but I may need to do so.
  16. Mel + Bug = Based? Jokes aside, very cool person, probably has infinite brownie points, amazing RPer and definitely deserving of a WL. However, the backstory does seem to be a bit lacking though, doesn't really feel like it touches on who the character is or why they were chosen to do any o' this. But, I don't have a bug WL, so maybe it's perfect. +1 from me anywaaaaays!
  17. BYOND key: Kaizr Character names: How long have you been playing on Aurora?: At least a year, if not longer. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I've received 2, one on the forum for bringing up an unrelated topic in a staff complaint and one on-station because I forgot to have antag removed at the start of the round. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: From an OOC standpoint, someone who is a head of staff is an example of a trustworthy and experienced player that people can seek out for help when it comes to a slew of issues. Whether it be game mechanics or settling into the Aurora community. On the other hand, ingame, a head of staff is a leadership position by definition. Heads are tasked with ensuring their own department runs smoothly alongside the station. Furthermore, they should do their best to ensure crew needs are accounted for. And, lastly, if the need arises a head of staff is the final authority on many disciplinary decisions should the situation demand. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: As I briefly touched on above, one of the most critical responsibilities of a command whitelisted player is being a role model in the community. Whitelisted players are outstanding members of the community who many new players may flock to for help as they adjust to the community, and thus they should be willing to use their knowledge to help players new and old. All in all, a whitelisted player should do their best to uphold these values of generosity and willingness to help when they can. (All to a reasonable degree) Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? To sum up some recent lore events, Tau Ceti is currently in a tumultuous period of internal conflict. Mictlan is under occupation by Tau Ceti Foreign Legion troops due to the Peacekeeper Mandate whilst the station's crew continues to recover from the horrific events of the casino and Bayonet Hands massacre. However, it's not all doom and gloom, as the SCC has announced it's most recent megaproject. A massive, multi-corporate research vessel is in the final stages of construction amidst preparation for it's maiden voyage into the stars. All of this, astonishingly, hasn't exactly affected the character I plan to play for my trial and beyond. However, some months ago during the Skrell arc, Mahara Stokov was part of the command team during the final event. The grim reality of the situation on station and the horrific outcome of the terror attack left a deep mental scar on the otherwise jaded and cold woman. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? CMO Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? I have. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Mahara Stokov - Chief Medical Officer Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course. Extra notes: I'm certain this will come up in the comments when I post this and it's important that I touch on it. Yes, I lost my command whitelist a few months ago for poor behavior in OOC, and rightfully so. Over the span of a specific week I had made some mean spirited comments, was rude to others, and overall broke the promises I made when I applied for command. What I did is unforgivable, I allowed emotions to boil over and I said hurtful things, and for that I am sorry. For these reasons, my CCIA application was also denied with good reason. There's nothing I can do to change the past, hence it was my responsibility to change as a person and better myself. I can assure those with concerns that I have changed as a person, and I promise not to allow such a thing to happen again. However, it is ultimately up to the administrators and my fellow community members as to choose whether I deserve the whitelist.
  18. I totally understand the concern here, and I’m grateful you brought this up as it’s important to acknowledge during the application process and it’s critical for me to acknowledge my mistakes. Here’s what I have to say about what happened in August: What I did was inexcusable, and I am sorry to those who were hurt by the things I said. Nothing I can do will change the past, so all there is to do is acknowledge what I did, apologize, and grow from it. I made mean spirited comments, said rude and hurtful things, and failed to uphold my moral duty to be kind to others. Because of what I did, I rightfully lost my command whitelist and have a black mark that will remain on my name as long as I am here. The conversation with an admin that I won’t name was the eye-opener in this case, and I realized that I was allowing my frustration boil over and manifest in horrid behavior. Since then, I have made consistent efforts to better myself not only as a community member but as a person. I acknowledged my shortcomings in the past and used that as a learning experience to better handle my frustration and to never let it boil over like it did in August. I’ve no doubt had times where I aired my grievances and for that I am sorry, and I never wish to cause anyone harm with the things I say, even if unintentional. Whether you trust me not to make the mistake again is ultimately your choice, and I am in no place to try to sway your judgement. All I will say is that I have changed for the better, I have acknowledged my failures and grown from them, and that I promise not to let it happen again.
  19. Basic Information Byond key: Kaizr Character names: Age: 18 Timezone: Eastern Standard Time What times are you most available?: 3:00PM-12:00PM Weekdays (Dependant on work schedule) | 7:00AM-2:00AM Weekends (Dependant on work schedule) Experience How long have you played SS13?: I have been playing SS13 for the greater part of 2 years now. How long have you played on Aurora?: I believe I am nearing 1 year on Aurora this month or possibly already have surpassed that. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you?: Sadly, I cannot say I am extremely active on the AuroraStation's discord server. I am however fairly active (posting and keeping an eye on) on the forums and do my best to keep tabs on both. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have never been banned from AuroraStation. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Aside from operating & moderating a small, private TGstation build that was run amidst a fairly closed group, I have not ever worked in an administrative position in an SS13 community. However, in regards to overall experience as a moderator I can say I have a bit more experience. I have worked as an administrative member in various other gaming communities (eg. ML700th, an Arma III unit maintained and operated by a fully fledged NPO gaming community/server hosting company) and discords. From an overall standpoint, however, I would say I am generally green when it comes to this. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: None that are really of any note. I have had experience in a performance manager type of job before, but not one that is classified as a real job. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: To put it simply; the unique opportunities provided by joining the CCIA. Ever since I had become aware of its existence, I had a vested interest in the CCIA for the prospect of IC moderation and event hosting. Through the position of CCIA, I want to work to aid the community by ensuring adequate transparency, fair treatment of characters during the IR process, and bringing new ideas to the table. Alongside this, the idea of being able to host canon events (or so I’ve been told) is something I am extremely excited to look into. Hot take, this server is in dire need of some more mini-events, and I adore hosting those sorts of things (given adequate permission and administrative presence). What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: A CCIAA no doubt holds a position of authority that is difficult to challenge, henceforth an agent MUST uphold a strong character to ensure that the IR process is a fair and just one. Honesty and patience are two critical qualities for an agent to have as it is necessary to ensure the validity and integrity of the IR process, an equally important part AuroraStation. Alongside this, an agent must be efficient and thorough in the way they work. Even the slightest of mistakes can lead to serious repercussions IC, and possibly even OOC, so a strong, efficient, and thorough work process is no doubt extremely important to an agent. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: The purpose of a CCIA agent during a round can vary greatly, and an agent should take careful note of all circumstances before acting during one. Some of the most important roles of an agent are: To act as a guiding hand for on-station command and crew by representing NanoTrasen Central Command via faxes and possibly even holocalls. To help further gimmicks by providing realistic and genuine reactions to happenings on station from a higher off-station power (should they be reported), and otherwise add to the universe in a unique and engaging way. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: Outside of the server, a CCIA agent is expected to actively seek and participate in the IR process as an investigative force to ensure adequate enforcement of IC rules beyond in-round action unless otherwise deemed necessary. Alongside this, agents should be upstanding members of the community who should strive to promote a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Possibly, they may even be seen as a source for guidance in regards to station regulations, conduct, and procedure. How do you handle stress?: Personally, I handle stress extremely well, but that is not to say I am impervious to it’s effects. The strategies I most often employ are simply stepping away from the cause of stress and returning when I feel ready to tackle the obstacle in an effective manner. How well do you work autonomously?: Generally I work fairly well autonomously, but at times life will demand my attention and I would be a fool not to focus on it. Additional Notes: Should there be any issues or mistakes with the formatting or the way in which this application was written, please reach out to me on Discord (Kaizr#1111, in all primary AuroraStation discords.)
  20. Allow me to preface with this, SleepyWolf is an amazing roleplayer and I would ultimately like to see them get their whitelist back. Now, to add to this, and I apologize if I am dog piling on this point. I was security during this round (Nassa Zisk'as), and hadn't so much as seen or heard from Goldman until long after I had been turned into a vampire (minimal contact before, once in medbay and that was it). When asked over the radio multiple times for guidance, we received little to no communication from Goldman as the station was falling apart around us. However, I ultimately don't think anything could have been done, that does not excuse the complete and total lack of communication as he was held up in the bridge (behind the blast doors). Moving forward... Do I think SleepyWolf is deserving of a whitelist in the end? Yes. Do I think they need to shift how they play command before that? Yes. I have only ever had the chance to interact with Goldman, and in every single one of them, he has acted rather outlandishly for someone holding the rank of captain on an SCC station. Sadly, this leaves me with mostly negative impressions, even if I like the character and Sleepy as a person. So, overall, I regretablly have to leave this with a -1 until there is a notable change in the way Sleepy goes about playing command.
  21. Fairly sure Bayonet Hand was near dead so it wouldn't have made a difference, just a thought if anything.
  22. Solid arc, interesting outside involvement, lots of chances for people to get involved in unique ways! One issue I did have, or a suggestion at least for future events, was to maybe put a bit more character behind Bayonet Hand. I feel like with some of the more isolated attacks, there were some opportunities for him to say more than just one-liners with some more exposition. Even suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper short one-to-one convos between some characters (Tajara more specifically, since this was an anti-xeno plot mostly) would be really interesting. Locking someone in an area and having him step out of maintenance to deliver some SPOOKY words and then leaving would've been a fun way to put a face behind the killer. That, and perhaps letting people talk to him or at least see him being dragged off by FIB with his mask off only to explode afterwards with one final "Insert anti-xeno oneliner here" or "My plan hasn't failed yet" kind of line would've been fun. But, hindsight is 20/20. Just some ideas to play with if we ever see a villain like this again.
  23. So my first responder bot got arrested for nothing... 😔
  24. Then I will move my discussion there at a later date. From this point on I will no longer post unless it directly relates to the topic of the staff complaint.
  25. @Alberyk I believe we are discussing something different from the main point of this thread (supposed meta-grudges), would you like to bring this into DMs where we can more easily discuss this?
