  1. I don't want to wake up to admins dogpiling me, actually. just close the damn thing.
  2. I was going to complain, and I stand by it, but I don't want to anymore.
  3. I guess I do have something to say about it, actually. I got DMs from Triogenix about this in regards to my unathi whitelist, which I can no longer reply to because I got banned from the discords. Wasn't sure if I should factor them in or not yet because this is a separate staff action, but I guess I should. Assuming this is about the same thing (which it can't be entirely, because I still don't know what the baystation precedent is supposed to be), then I still mean what I said earlier- I had no idea at the time anyone was uncomfortable with it OOC, nor have I ever known people to be uncomfortable with things I say, nor have I been warned for them. I was trying to play some guy being goofy with his friends and making a bad joke. Didn't think anyone was more than annoyed IC with it. Above all, I was not trying to intentionally make others uncomfortable, and it is rude and unfair to assume such. Aurorastation really means a lot to me, it's unfair that I cannot appeal at all due to an assumption of bad faith, without even talking to me about it, and giving me any second chance. The fact I couldn't even appeal in a year or more pains me. I don't think you should assume the worst of me when I'm just learning about my mistake for the first time.
  4. Well, I have little else to say on the matter. Seems clear to me that you shouldn't immediately assume the worst in players and not even consider discussing it with them.
  5. BYOND Key: The unloved rock Staff BYOND Key: Mattatlass Game ID: N/A Reason for complaint: This is of course a complaint about me being permanently banned for "Extremely creepy behaviour towards a few players", a ban I received in the middle of the night with no other context. From what I gather, this is related to my character, Hossl Suazra, being sexist. The issue I see with this is that I was never even told there was a problem with my behavior. I was never even warned before jumping to a permaban that they don't want me to come back from. I thought I was playing a character in accordance with Unathi lore, and nothing ever told me otherwise. I didn't have people telling me OOC that they were uncomfortable with it, so why should I have? The only well-intentioned reason I can think of permanently ban me for such a vague reason, is that the admins are assuming this "creepy behaviour" is an intentional OOC thing that I think is acceptable. To that I say, absolutely not! I was trying to play a character. If I understood people were uncomfortable, I would stop. I care about creating interesting characters others will enjoy interacting with. Because I was permabanned in my sleep, instead of talked to by admins (or even given a ban I was meant to appeal) I never knew I was doing anything wrong until it was too late. I don't even know what baystation precedent the ban refers to. If it's relevant, I should've been warned about it. Been years since I played bay (to a significant extent where I ever interacted with admins), but I never remember getting in trouble for being "creepy". Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: I'm not sure how many admins were involved with this, or even if I'm supposed to be able to make a complaint about it. But if you insist that this ban is ideal and I have no place in the server, please just say that. I don't need to see several posts about everything "creepy" I've ever said. I'd rather have seen that before I got banned.
  6. several events where it was dark, and nearly unplayable because it was lagging so much that flashlights didn't work. I almost died from this and anyone who did shouldn't have a character death over that. PLEASE don't do any more dark events, and if you do give people NVGs, instead of a radically worse experience for anyone besides taj or vaurca.
  7. we can't have an infinite stream of ideas. there will always be some "repetitive" or "low effort" antag stuff, and I'd prefer them GETTING THE THERMAL DRILL to them taking a random guy hostage or spouting exploitables over radio for the millionth time. If it's easier to antag we'll get more antags that mean well.
  8. I don't know about this as a whole, but now that I think about it, the seperate ballistic/ablative armor types really do benefit sec more than other stuff. I wouldn't be sad to see them though, except maybe for how funny ablative armor could be in long past. I do think riot armor should stay, though. As it is now, regular armor is extremely melee resistant to anything the crew might have (as does ballistic and maybe ablative), and regular heavy armor makes you basically immune - and that's pretty damn lame. If current armor was weaker to melee aside from the niche riot set, that'd probably be fine, antags can get around that. I think that should actually be done.
  9. I should've paid more attention earlier because I hate all of this, and even if the biggest parts are fixed I still don't see the point. as said above, the locker room is too small, while also being in a more public space, which is unneeded. the warden office may as well be removed because as it is they should be at the front desk (and the armory office could genuinely be mistaken for their office. Hell, remove the office and move the warden's stuff to the armory closet if you're going to change stuff anyways) I dislike the 1 wide hallway to enter the brig as handling prisoners in a 1 long tunnel would be agony. Brig still has more cells than it needs, the marooning lockers are placed in the middle of the hallway in such a way that they're obstructive and annoying, while they could easily be shifted up and to the right where the disposals chute is. The bathroom is a disgrace in so many ways. I actually got some use out of it with the larger design connected to the locker room where your clothes are, moved to where it is it's more inconvenient. I just don't see what benefit any of these changes bring. The only positive I've heard is something about making the brig easier to escape, but it still doesn't seem much easier, and it is incredibly rare for people to actually be put in extended confinement, such as it is, let alone be put in extended in a state where: 1.They are in fit health/equipped to escape 2.They want to escape 3.There is enough time in the round for them to escape 4.The round would be improved by them escaping It wasn't worth shuffling around the lower brig so much just for that. You could fix most of this but I think this should've been a testmerge, and as annoying as reverting map changes is I still think that should be done. We haven't gotten much out of the brig changes beyond a headache. Mapdiffbot2 isn't working for me so I can't see what gem did with the bathroom but for the love of god put a LOCK on the toilet.
  10. I think the people likely to join for events who wouldn't otherwise are unlikely to be long-term players.
  11. Many servers use "panic bunker" to stop people who've never joined before from joining the server at certain times, and I'm not sure if we do the same here. We've had events recently where people who don't know or care what's going on have stirred shit up when, frankly, there are enough people on the server already. Further than just a panic bunker, why don't we set a minimum playtime requirement of a few hours before you can join canon events? With some events we're already forcing people into a job slot (off duty...) so just make the job slot require playtime. People would still be able to watch, and the people in the event would have at least some experience with Aurora.
  12. I'm not sure how good an idea that could be, because it'd work both ways- if it sprayed out shrapnel on impact, that'd dissuade regular use BUT it'd also make it more effective. It makes me kinda wish the PEAC was an actual rocket launcher, because if we gave it backblast, that'd be a great way to make it more destructive with no extra combat benefit.
  13. Plenty of ways to bend your mind. Could simply say the chem dispenser *doesn't* require significant skill to use. It's the future, no reason it can't do the hard stuff itself. Anything's better than chem p much not existing cause no one wants to do it.
  14. I really hope this goes through, the ship combat system is great but still so rarely sees use. The details of what ship it is and mercs vs raiders can be changed later (and it would be cool if it could eventually have variety in what weapons it's armed with), what matters is there is a reasonably common avenue for ship combat. People involved get to get their goblin out too, so people aren't too over-eager to use the weapons otherwise. People will learn the systems, enjoy them, and find it easier to use them. As cool as the ship combat is, right now it's hard to think of it as one of the biggest additions of the year 'cause there's basically only super rare situations outside events where it can happen.
  15. ok, it's in now. didn't push my luck, ops can order peridax, bicard, kelotane, and hyronalin now.
