BurgerBB Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 A bit of an unorthodox thread since it's just asking people for suggestions, but there is a depressingly low variety of toxins compared to other servers. I think that there should be more robust toxins, and perhaps tweaks to existing toxins to make them more interesting other than "deals 1 toxin damage every unit". Literally anything is possible in Byond. Suggest anything that seems realistic and believable for a toxin to have. Include: Name of the Toxin: Recipe/Source: Effects: Lore Information (Optional): If it's a good enough idea it will be implemented. Some tweaks will need to be made because of balance reasons. Also note that there will be a PR coming in December that implements temperature in reagents. When considering its effects, consider: - If it's able to be detected by scanners. - How long it lingers. - What exactly it does damage to (Brain, Heart, ect). - What difference it makes when injected/inhaled/ingested. - An antidote, possibly. Example: Name of the Toxin: Nurhachi Toxin Recipe/Source: Sodium, Space Drugs, Acetone Effects: Clumsiness, Pain, Blurry Vision. Can be cured via a special antidote, which is made from Sodium, Acetone, Sugar. Lore Information (Optional): Discovered and created by ancient chinese gangsters by sol. Tasteless, odorless, and commonly used to poison Archaeologists.

Bauser Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Yes, how very unorthodox... Asking people for suggestions on the suggestions board Name of the toxin: BrodifacoumRecipe/source: 5 parts carbon, 4 parts hydrogen, 3 parts oxygen (creates 12 units) Effects: Brodifacoum is a pesticide that acts as a very potent anticoagulant when introduced into the body. This leads to significant internal bleeding (causes brute damage and organ damage) and stops lacerations from healing naturally. Lore information: Also lethal to Dionaea because it's an herbicide Name of the toxin: StrychnineRecipe/source: Derived from seeds of the strychnos nux-vomica plant (or make your own complicated C+H+N+O recipe to synthesize it in a lab) Effects: Strychnine is a neurotoxin that inhibits the firing of motor neurons in the spine. When ingested in low doses, strychnine causes spasms (so shaking -> convulsing) and loss of motor control (stumbling/confused movement, dropping what you're holding). In greater doses, it causes asphyxiation, often resulting in death (so either lung damage, or direct oxygen damage). Lore information: Commonly used as a pesticide. Name of the toxin: ArsenicRecipe/source: Arsenic is a chemical element, not a molecule or compound. It is found in minerals from rock and in soil and crystals called "ruby sulfur" (so presumably, you could get this from a chemical dispenser or as a byproduct of processing some rocks from mining). Effects: Arsenic poisoning causes headaches, confusion, vomiting (and vomiting blood), heart disease, numbness, and drowsiness (basically, toxin damage with a whole lot of complementary pain and suffering). Lore information: Historically, arsenic was a popular choice for poisoners because it mimicked the symptoms of cholera, a widespread disease, and so the poisoning was more likely to go undetected.
