How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Over 1 year

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: My interest has been growing steadily since my playtime here, and I feel like it is time for me to step up with my experience and general interest, to put forward and application.

Why did you come to Aurora?: I heard about the server before, and since I know a few people here, I stayed around.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Job bans from security, but was unbanned.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

 

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay in my eyes is the ability to play a role given or chosen by you, and be able to play and do said role effectively, while having fun doing it. It feels like a sort of way to gain experience in certain fields and events that might not even be possible for a normal person to have, as well as being able to explore things that you might never be able to like being on a space station and having a job on it. I feel like it should be a sort of fun experience and also a little bit educational, as from my experience, roleplaying has taught me a lot of people skills, and just about people in general.

 

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Heads of Staff OOCLY seem to be the shepherds of the flock, the players that lead everyone else and guide them to achieve a goal, or prevent all out chaos. Heads need to be able to control situations as well as be proper leaders to be able to successfully quell situations ingame, as well being mentors to help pass what they've learned, onto the characters they are under to improve overall gameplay and roleplaying within the server. Also they help to steer the flows of events weither from antagonists or admins to make them more coherent and also less chaotic.

 

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I know from experience that a lot of players OOCLY will flock to communicate with players who as heads of staff, they go to ask them for advice, questions on lore and gameplay, as well as attempting to have some critique given to them, Heads seem to really be a sort of teacher to people, as well as people who you can talk to since they have some autorotative position as well as to look up on them, after all they do seem to be the pillars of the community when it comes to handling issues that don't require sever administration. I would be prepared to uphold a professional attitude and help mentor old and new players if they would have any issues regarding things that I am specialized in, after all they would look up to me.

 

 

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? As someone who is not enlightened with current events, I know that ATLAS moved in to Biesel for a little while, causing mass riots and protests, I know some Tajaran politics were being pushed as of late, including a diplomatic visit with from one of the parties that involved a tank, other than that I do not know anything else noteworthy, which have not effected any of my characters career.

 

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Head of Security, Head of Personal, Research Director.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: I originally planned to have my main (Also really only) character, Erick Silva partake in being a Head of Security, but looking back on his character, recent events, and also advice from other players he might not become a Head of Security. I would instead have to make other characters for the roles, or just go ahead and make him into one.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Above Average, I still have plenty to learn but I have been told by other players that I can roleplay fairly effectively with little context, also being able to roleplay certain actions and events smoothly and effectively. I also have been one to openly ask for critique about my roleplay in general, and take into account what players tell me to keep it in the loop and learn from them.

 

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes, if I abuse and/or break rules consistently, my ability to be a Head of Staff will be revoked.

 

Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, and including past experience from other HRP servers.

This app looks solid, even though I don't think I have ever interacted with you. I have a couple of concerns, though:

I don't think I have ever seen any of the characters you have listed here in science, being a science main. Are you going to jump into RD without having played a scientist beforehand? Correct me if I'm wrong, please - I've been on the server for a much shorter time than you.

That lore answer isn't very good. I suggest you do get yourself enlightened with the current events, as the heads of staff are supposed to be of high RP standard, and you yourself mentioned that people will ask lore questions to head whitelistees.

I listed science as it was a massive profession I used to have on other servers, used to main xenoarcheologist and regular scientist which I would be fairly ecstatic to get back into, taking this into mind I should actually get a science character cooking. As for lore it always has been my weakest link in terms of RP, I do know for a fact I will be reading a lot more into lore in general, as well as the news that is being made and such so I expect myself to become well into it fairly shortly.

As someone that interacts with his characters consistently I can say that Dino is a great roleplayer. He keeps to his character's story and I don't think ever has broken my sense of disbelief when it comes to roleplay. Given my most interaction is with his warden, Erick Silva, I do think they understand the chain of command and knowing how to properly react during a high risk situation when threats to the station are on board.

I don't have or see any many glaring issues with this application. While minor, I do agree with VT had stated. But they have already responded with stating they will in fact be reading up on the lore.

All in all I give my humble support to Dino and believe they are a respectable member of this community as well as a perfectly capable player for taking the reigns of a command position.
