Arrow768 Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/6012 Quote The chance to get a ERT / the TCFL is now based on the progression of the round. The longer the station has been on a elevated alert level, the more people that are dead, ... the higher the chance to get a ERT. Otherwise you just get the TCFL. Oh, and you can only call them once. So if you called a response team via the swipers, that`s it. The base chance for a ERT is a config setting and will be tweaked over time, as its not really possible to determine a good value without seeing this system in action.
VTCobaltblood Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 That's a good compromise between lore and gameplay. I think it's a fantastic idea. +1
Arrow768 Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 To post some answers to some questions that have been asked on discord. How is the chance calculated ? Every 3 minutes, the chance to get a ERT is increased by 1% if the station is on green or yellow, 2% if it is on blue and 3% if it is on red (10% if its on delta) This chance is added to the base chance of 10% In addition the percentage of dead people and the percentage of antagonists (amongst the living ones) is taken into account. The more antags and the more dead, the higher the chance. These values are tweakable via config and the intention is to do so once this PR is live and it is actually possible to see how it plays out
Chada1 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) I was very ambivalent to the proposed changes in the last thread, and making it a blanket 50%/50%. However, this change when tweaked substantially could turn out the balance of the TCFL being more common but the ERT still being possible and just infrequent that I was hoping for. I'm onboard with this, but I hope it strikes that balance because the TCFL has much more roleplay value and adds tons more substance to rounds, especially early on. Simply on virtue of actually being part of the character pool of the Station, whereas the ERT are nameless nobodies who exist solely as throwaway commandos. Edited February 2, 2019 by Chada1
