JamOfBoy Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Title! Imagine showing up to a derelict cruiser and you've got some starmen scrapping it down. Or a survivor of a recent incident on some damaged vessel. Or practically anything! The idea is, whenever the research shuttle departs, some ghost roles (may) open, allowing people to join (as human mobs, preferably) probably with some pre-established situation written out that will be explained to them when they spawn. The issue with this is matching these situations with the correct derelicts and so on.
Brutishcrab51 Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 An abandoned ERT trooper on the ERT base! Sol Elites on the in-tact Sol base! A communist soldier of some kind on the PRA base, or IPC combat units on the machine derelict! I pushed for this, this sets the tone for interesting interaction. I'm, however, unaware how these survivors would fit in with station and derelict defenses. Are they survivors, or are they repelling invaders? I suppose it could depend map-to-map, and it'd require code to make them avoid being targeted by turrets.
NerdyVampire Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Would certainly make away missions more interesting, but if it comes down to development time I fear it might be a lot, without being a developer myself ?
Hendricks Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Sounds awesome and something I’d love to try.
Rushodan Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Really like this: Having ghost roles that allow for some survivor or defenders of an away site would be great for interaction, could even bring them back for 'study'.
