BYOND Key: Uaine

Character Names: Elise Taylor, Elizabeth Foxfort, Serenity

Species you are applying to play: Unathi

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Black

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, I have read through it multiple times. I sure hope I don't get anything wrong!

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I want to play a Unathi because playing a race that is very different from Humans is exciting. The rich culture of that race provides great RP potential and it's something that I strive to for. Also, who doesn't want to be a cool space Lizard? Lets be honest...

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, honor is very important to Unathi, something a lot of humans have forgotten about. Their society is completely different as well, especially the social status of women, for example. The fact that they are towering cold blooded lizards is also a big difference. It should be taken into account when facing certain situations such as environment and other dangers bound to arrive on the station.

Character Name: Krazak Skavit

Please provide a short backstory for this character: Spoiler for your convenience!

Spoiler

Born in 2416 Krazak grew up on Moghes before the horrors and the aftermath of the contact war. His parents, being at the bottom of society, provided him with what they could as he grew up. Once old enough to work the young Unathi helped his parent with their farm by herding the cattle along with any other task required of him. During his free time he could be seen pretending to be a warrior, swinging a spade or a small makeshift spear. He aspired to become a great warrior. One who would bring honor and glory to his clan. Just before the war, a year to be precise, Skavit was married. He believed himself to be lucky, for it was rare for Unathi to find mutual love in an arranged marriage.

The Contact war came right around the time where he was old enough to answer the call to arms. Newly wed and barely of age to fight Krazak was sent out to be trained in the arts of war. Once capable enough the young Skavit was sent out to the front where he fought many battles and suffered many wounds. The Unathi disagreed with the weapons he was provided with at first, finding some of them to be dishonorable. He believed in settling the score like real warriors. Shields against spear, claws against scales. The young Unathi knew that the war was a colossal waste of life when the atomic bomb fell. It made him question the very nature of the war. It's legitimacy. He fought it till the end nonetheless, but not without acquiring a few scars and injuries along the way.

His body aching for respite and his soul peace, Krazak returned to his wife, hoping to start a family of his own. For many years they have tried, but the radiations and the growing wasterland had rendered his wife infertile. The constant pressure from the Sk'akh Priesthood for them to sire children had Krazak's wife take the title of Guwandi and leave for the desert.

Questioning the honor of his people and even his faith, Krazak took to the stars, abandoning his life on Moghes to continue the next chapter of his life elsewhere.

What do you like about this character?: He's calm and he's collected. He's seen what war and conflict can do to people and wishes to keep the peace and avoid conflict above all else. While I want to play him as a Security Officer I'm really trying to go for the almost 'pacifist' route with him, if I can call it that.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?: I'd say I'm decent. I've been Roleplaying for years across many different medias. (WoW, FF14, DnD and much more. ) I always strive to better myself and the way SS13 incorporates actual gameplay in it's roleplay has been a very fun challenge!

Notes: Thank you for reading my app, whoever you are! If you find anything you'd like changed or corrected I'm always up for discussion and stuff! :)

I've had some good experiences with Uaine, and know them to be a good roleplayer. I found the backstory interesting, as well.

How old is Krazak?

I assume that Krazak is no longer religious?

What is his opinion of the Hegemony?

He's 45 years old! A bit on the old size for most characters. I think.

He's still religious. While he still grieves the death of his wife he doesn't exactly hold it against the Priesthood anymore. She died trying to save her honor, at least in his eyes.

I'd say he's in a bit of a debate surrounding it. He's wary, but still supportive of it. Honor is a very important thing to him and he's sworn an oath to his Lord, which are supportive of it in turn. The Izweski had their own share of dishonor during the war but it's not comparable to the coalition.

I like the application and I like the answers. Uaine can definitely RP and unathi on the other HRP server - you know, the one with the salutes - and I am excited to see what they can do here with the species!

Here's my vote of support, and my  +1.

Can't comment (much) on the lore aspects, but I can say I've had good experiences with them, both in the sense of RP quality and general conduct on the server. On top of that, the application seems competently put together to me. +1, lizard away.

Uaine is a very powerful roleplayer and channels potent noodle arm energy. They're also pretty cool person to interact with OOCly and have been v encouraging.

+1

You seem to have a good grasp on Lizar lore and such, and I can attest to Uaine being a wonderful roleplayer with very memorable characters. That being said, -1 for not applying for Vaurca Strong +1 from me!

I like your backstory and the answers to the questions. I've never had a female mentioned going Guwandi before and it never occurred to me, so I paused and had some quick chats about it with some loredevs while geeves is asleep and I'm satisfied with it. Seeking an honorable end is something that unathi can appreciate even if it's not what the gender roles for women demand.

All in all I like the app; accepted!
