BurgerBB Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 BYOND Key: BurgerBB Game ID: The round before b4J-bg7W. Player Byond Key/Character name: Zeiluhak Ruu, Rzuo Iszak Staff involved: None Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No, but I should have. Reason for complaint: Some of the worst behavior I've seen from players in an extended round. These were both atmos technicians and throughout the round they did extremely stupid things that someone with an engineering/atmos degree would not do. The first incident was when Rzuo Iszak managed to get injured because of ????. I honestly suspect that as atmos tech he tried to wire the solars without protection or anything. When he was injured, he did not state his location at all and did not tell us why or how or anything as to give us a clue of their injuries despite repeated questions. We all assumed he fell in EVA or something because the only hint he gave was "surface". Thankfully he was inside surface and I got a borg to heal them. The second incident was when they started an atmos project without anyone's permission or notification that ended up siphoning about 100,000+ of power from the pumps. Despite me pointing out the power concerns they proceeded to joke about how engineering is weak. I played along and just turned off the power and submitted a humorous news article. I did not complain or ahelp or anything because I didn't want to feel like an asshole consider that this was round the time where the Captain and CIAA were sending erp logs to eachother or something. I resolved this myself by just turning off the power because they wouldn't let me touch the pumps. The third and final incident was when there was a blob announcement. It spawned in a terrible location. The medical borg who said this followed us, but was told to fuck off by one of the atmos techs because ???? despite me being minorly injured. The borg repeatedly said that it was in the elevator and that it was destroyed, and left. I kept trying to repeat this to the atmos techs, but they ignored me. I decided to just play along and show them that the elevator exit was absolutely fucked. Since they didn't really like working with me, I went off on my own into main level EVA with a ladder and hoist kit, announcing my intentions, to see if I can possibly find an alternative route. This process was interrupted because for some reason they were both in near critical condition because they decided to attack the blob head on. Medical and security had to get involved, and they refused to communicate with anyone other than constantly ordering the borg to open the command bunker and that they were in the command bunker. Throughout the conflict they started cluttering comms about inane shit that hid actually useful information on how to save them. They refused to communicate with anyone past that, and put several lives in danger, including several of those who participated in the rescue operation. Their bodies were both recovered but they were both absolutely dead. The roundtype was revealed to be extended. I did not ahelp because I assumed that this matter would be resolved as they would learn their lesson likely stop playing those characters, as they did a leeroy jenkins on the blob. They did not seem to have learned anything. I'm not making this complaint because "unga, delete their characters!" but rather just to let administrative know that this has happened. I admit it is dumb to expect them to delete their characters, and I admit that I should've ahelped when they both died, but I was extremely busy trying to save them.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) We don't need permission to upgrade atmospherics. We're the atmospheric technicians. The borg wasn't told to fuck off. They took down an inflatable door and vented the entire hallway and sent everyone flying. I yelled at them specifically to not do anything unless asked. They then meandered off because I think I offended them. We got trapped by the blob because we were having a hard time and couldn't get out. We were ordering it to open the command bunker because it was our only escape. The blob was on the other side of the hallway. We were too slow to escape due to injuries. I was in paincrit and my best IC friend was dying. I was fear and pain RP'ing. I didn't attack the blob. I got injured retreating from the blob rescuing Iszak. I'm not deleting the character and I did not break any rules. I will keep playing the character and upgrading atmospherics exactly like you see every time I play in the department. I would not change anything about how I played that round. Edited December 16, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 oh wait a minute you disabled the power to the entire life support network because you didn't like how much power it was drawing? Did you ask anyone's permission to do that?

Did you ask anyone's permission to do that? I limited it to 50,000W and told them to disable the excessive pipes because it was draining an excessive amount of power. It was practically disabled because the APC kept going on and off. I would've turned it back on if anything occurred. There was plenty of air already in distro. Siphoning and filling rooms with air wouldn't be affected unless there was a station wide plasma leak. Atmospherics was a department that was draining the most power out of any other department because of a meme atmos setup that used 6 high volume pumps that were always active and always draining power. When questioned about it, you proceeded to ignore the concerns and shitpost. I tried to work with you, but didn't. I reduced the power to atmos because I didn't want a possible power outage issue. I think what I did was justified because you weren't communicating at all to me and were off doing stupid thing without telling anyone.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) I told you to increase the power. We use this set up all the time without issue. The problem was entirely in how you chose to ration power. If what we did is rule breaking so is what you did. You disabled vital life support without asking permission or communicating. If something happened to you wed have no idea what happened or how to fix it. You put everyone in danger. No other round has ever had this issue with this set up. Don't try to micromanage how i do atmospherics. I didn't micromanage how you do your job except to neg you for being boring by not setting up the tesla. Extend me the same courtesy. Don't try to micromanage how i do atmospherics. I think you're seriously over exaggerating the situation. Atmos had a ton of air in the distro pipes; enough to fill several hallways. Waste was completely empty and already has a super high volume count and the rolling power would've been enough to clear out any waste in the waste pipes. If anything bad went wrong with atmos, nothing would've changed. This isn't me telling you how to manage atmos, this is me telling you to actually communicate to your coworkers about power management. If your response is "Engineering weak, atmos strong!" to my concerns about how your department is using an excessive amount of power then I'm going to limit the power until you turn off all the pipes that you don't need on. I can't take your "don't try to micromanage how I do atmospherics" statement that seriously because you are literally doing the same thing by telling me to increase power to atmos when it doesn't need it. Just to be entirely clear this isn't me saying "delete your character", this is holding you and your friend accountable for your actions. You both did something extremely stupid that affected more than yourselves while both being excessively unhelpful to the rest of the crew about your situation. None of this should've been acceptable for two certified atmos techs to do, especially on an extended round. I wouldn't completely ignored all the stupid things you and your friend did if you were actually communicating with people about the things you did that affected other people.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 (edited) All Iszak did was get zapped, pain rp, then die. There was plenty of communication. You just didn't like what we had to say. Edited December 16, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix
Bear Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 As the one who killed the blob and watched both unathi get sucked in. They did not head on attack the blob. Blob pushed their position and one opening of a door (with a blob tile right next too it) spurned a very fateful change of events as one Unathi was glomped deep and another Unathi dived in to save after them. Sadly I was pressing the core and could do nothing about it as they were on the far side. There was someone who tried to attack it with a telebaton (lmao) but it wasn't them. Simply desperate weldering while trying to get out.

It does not explain why they decided to communicate very little with everyone or behave the way they did.
Bear Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Oh I was just adding clarification other than that I had no interaction so I will bow out here ^^
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 (edited) We communicated. I already said this. You seem to consider "communicating" to mean "doing what i say." You flat out complained that you didn't like what i had to say about the power network. You ran off and posted a news article when i was trying to describe how the upgrade worked, so ruul got annoyed and decided not to bother. He had already suggested increasing power to the network. I need to reiterate ive never had anyone else complain about the power drain. You didnt communicate the power shut off you did. Admit this is hypocritical. Iszak communicated he needed help. Hes a very prideful unathi and he was doing pain rp which is why he was reluctant to go in depth. Its in character. I communicated why we needed the bunker open over a dozen times. I'm not obliged to do what you tell me anymore than youre obliged to do what i tell you. Edited December 17, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix

I'm not obliged to do what you tell me anymore than youre obliged to do what i tell you. You said that engineering was weak and atmospherics was strong when I said that you had an excessive atmos design that was causing power issues. I told you clearly that you needed to limit it to 75,000 watts because I was setting the SMES to that. I recall telling you that and you ignored me and proceeded to berate me some more. You did this twice in the round again when you got hurt both times and caused issues for medical, security, and me. On both occasions I tried finding you on both occasions, but you refused to accept help and you ended up dying for it on an extended round. You are then going in this thread and doing the following: 1. Slandering me by claiming that my complaints about you refusing to communicate is just me complaining that you didn't listen to me. This isn't about listening to me but rather not giving a shit about anyone but yourself. 2. Calling me a hypocrite because you claimed I never communicated you the issue of the SMES when I actually did. 3. Refusing to admit maybe that you fucked up somewhere. Your entire attitude can be summed up on the incident with the borg: The borg accidentally vented the area. It caused a gust of pressure to come in and knock me towards the elevator, where a blob got a few chunks out of me. While I was still injured, you or your friend rudely gave it an excessive amount of shit and practically told it to fuck off unless needed, while I was injured. I never gave the borg any shit and felt extremely guilty for him. I regret not having stepped in and telling the borg to stay but I knew that would cause further problems, and refrained from doing so. It eventually caused further problems because the borg was not with us when you two decided to go off and try to kill the blob, and died in the process. A medical borg is EXTREMELY useful when trying to fight a blob like this and they were trying their best to help. I bet you all the money in the world that if it wasn't for my constant whining over comms about how you two were stuck, no one would have rescued you. As you said, both of you were too proud to call for help and when you did, you demanded that a borg open the command bunker without fully explaining the situation. I had to convince the borg to actually assist you two because you told it to fuck off earlier. I should've learned from the previous incidents but I didn't.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I explained the situation with the bunker but then started to fear RP just yelling for it to be opened. My character got mad and yelled at the borg, yes. This is not against the rules.
Lady Fowl Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Myself and @Cnaym will handle this hopefully later today
Lady Fowl Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 So we looked over this issue in depth and after reviewing the logs me and @Cnaym determined most of the behavior was and should remain in the realm of the IC part of things, however with this said there was a few instances of both Jackboot and Lupo taking certain risk's that were heavily questionable, IE setting up the solar without protective gear to which I am going to leave this as a notice that danger should be avoided as much as possible. I will close this in 24 hours.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I never set or interacted with solars. Im going to throw lupo under the bus here. ?

It was round-start and it was just an engi apprentice and myself, they weren’t sure about the engine and I’ve set up solars on others servers before and I didn’t want the crew to be without power... But all I did was leave knots everywhere and zapped myself! Perhaps I should’ve been more clear about my location when Bar Shaleez asked me several times, but I was focused being in-character and doing some quality, solo-pain RP and was actually kind of lost too! Total mistake on my part but it won’t happen again, sorry to make you guys dive through the logs like that. :-(
BurgerBB Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 If this is acceptable behavior for Unathi then it seems like unathi behavior needs to change into something that isn't a meme that NanoTrasen 100% would not hire.

Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Is it part of this player complaint or do i need a new one that he just opened an IR to overturn this player complaint and get us punished?

Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 (edited) OK then Ruul will make one about how you shut off all life support to be petty and never told anyone, putting everyone on station at risk and severely disrupting our work. I haven't even played a round since that happened but go off I guess. I'll never stop upgrading atmos and having fun with the department because you personally don't like it. That is all I will say. BurgerBB Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 I mean, I'm not sure how valid that one would be because you only just learned that I shut off the SMES through this player complaint (OOC) because you weren't paying attention to me when i said it.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 (edited) We saw the entire department go offline and knew the power was shut off we just did not think anything of it until we realized later that it was the product of your malicious antics. Ruul was paying attention to you. But he was doing other stuff. Like I said, you only consider communication valid when I kow tow to you. You also only posted the IR because this player complaint failed, which is OOC. Edited December 19, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix
