Character Names: Val Xiram and Eris Heydar’Fayez are the ones I play the most. I do have a few more, but for some, I’m still getting a feel for them and others are on break.

What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Either a sandy brown or light green.

Why do you wish to play this specific race:

I have been thinking of a few character concepts lately after reading the pages for Unathi and thought It’d be fun if I could give them a shot on the server. My main motivation here really, is that I have been wanting to make a proper medical character with an MD. It is fun to be a paramedic as I usually do, but there is little one can do sometimes solo. With that in mind I was combing through the wiki pages to get a better idea of what I could do with a surgeon character, and figured now was also the time to check out the lore on Unathi and how they could possibly fit into things. Instantly thought about a wastelander doctor after checking things out.

Focusing a bit on Unath. Many on station are pretty interesting, I have had a good time roleplaying with them. Lezakh, Riu, Arhuk, Shotka and Ioraks are some of the notables to me. Alright aesthetic, interesting backgrounds. Something I’ve been meaning to eventually try,. 

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

They are bipedal digitigrade reptilians. Cold blooded, carnivorous, generally just bigger and more physically robust than other species. What really makes them different beyond physical aspects is the history and overall mindsets of Unathi. Ones clan is everything. Ones honour is everything. They tend to be a very deeply spiritual, stubborn and patriarchal people that have mainly been living in feudalistic societies for thousands of years, and the current Hegemony is still a feudal society. Even on a more outside influenced colony, like Ouerea, the group focus and respect one should give their seniors are maintained.

Character Name: Eszo Dorviza

Please provide a short backstory for this character:

Hatched just two years before first contact with other inhabitants of the galaxy, Eszo’s life was one of constant upheaval. Raised to be a devout follower of Th'akh and eager to follow in their father’s footsteps as a loyal warrior to their lord, life was rather straightforward up until the beginning of the Contact war. Their clan, the Ziak, contributed their soldiers to the Traditionalist Coalition. Thus Eszo was left with their mother. The nuclear exchange happened when he was eight, and lucky for what remained of his family that was not fighting, they did not perish directly from the bombs though many did succumb after. It was clear enough that the clan was never going to recover, thus clan Ziak fractured and Eszo’s mother remarried into the Dorviza, with Eszo being adopted into it.

A new family would take some getting used to. Eszo ended up adjusting well in the end, still young and really only halfway to adulthood. Aspirations to be a warrior were left behind, not wanting to end up dead or upsetting what little of his past life remained. He would end up resonating with the ways of the Dorviza. While not much of a green thumb, learning how to utilize and apply needed treatments would become a strength. Eventually once it became safe enough for the IAC to operate in certain areas of the wastes, Eszo would visit and see what could be done to help and perhaps even learn, that they might be able to better assist their clan in medical matters.

Effort paid off and Eszo was eventually recognized and given an opportunity. Their knowledge was traditional, but they had no real formal education. There was little chance of finding opportunity in the untouched lands and the learning centres the IAC eventually set up could only do so much.. Eszo managed to be among a fortunate few that would be sponsored (courtesy of NT and the IAC) and given the chance to pursue further advancement off-world. They had the blessing from the rest of the Dorviza to set out. Eszo promised to one day return once his obligations were fulfilled.

What do you like about this character?

It is a simple and nice enough concept that provides a lot of connections to various things that will be dealt with on station. I did not really delve into it in the concept itself, but being an Oasis wastelander will have this character have more of an interest in interacting with Dionae on station for example, being from a clan that considers them valued comrades and friends.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

Okay. Slightly based.

Notes: The concept is likely not a character I will be playing much, since I prefer other roles in medical. Though it is one I have been thinking of a lot when it comes to branching out and doing a bit more.

Application is short and sweet, touching upon all the points I like to see Unathi players touch on, very nice, very nice. Based, even. I give my support to someone that can sum it up like that. Player-wise, Cybs is someone I like, and all the other things you can say besides "good roleplayer also mi fren +1". On that note, this will absolve me of replying to your DMs for the next three weeks, log off Cybs.

There is not much you miss in Unathi lore, and the character shows enough knowledge of the lore to be accepted. Unless you want to answer questions about the character (Lupo wanted them), I'll leave my +1.

in the near future, there will be minor additions to Guilds and Religion, i'll be pinging in the unathi discord (which may soon change to the universal lore discord) about these changes, and they'll also be in #lore-diary on the main discord. these changes won't effect what you already know, they'll just add to it. just letting you know!
