TishinaStalker Complaint

BYOND Key: Rusty Sh4ckleford

Staff BYOND Key: TishinaStalker

Reason for complaint: Muting me from OOC for no good reason and being somewhat rude.

Evidence/logs/etc: I experienced a power outage immediately following the incident, meaning I'm having to post this via mobile and have no logs. Basically, I brought up in OOC that I googled wetskrell.nt out of curiosity, and was a bit taken aback that someone had made a tumblr accout with that name. Nothing more, nothing less. Tishina saw that as a reason to mute me from OOC and give me a warning, though I posted no inappropriate links or said anything vulgar whatsoever. I brought this up, and also stated that if the concept of wetskrell was so vulgar, it would have been removed from the server (and the lore on skrell as well) a long time ago. He then threatened to mute my ahelps. And then there was a power outage. Mind you, the whole time I was being civil, while Tishina came off as dismissive and uncaring. I did not devolve into rudeness or vulgarity.

Additional remarks: I understand that Tishina does this for free, and generally does a good job, dedicating his free time to the server. But I feel this was an error in judgement on his part, and part of a larger problem of him being too politically correct, taking things too seriously, and being rather uptight, and I would like to see this addressed.

EDIT: Also, I get that I can be abrasive in occasion, and can go overboard. However, this was not one of thise times, and the wetskrell comments were the first OOC things I had said for a while during that round, so there was not inappropriate behavior beforehand.

There is nothing left out. I mentioned the results of the google search and immediately got muted. I did call Tish's reasoning for the mute "ridiculous," but I said nothing more inflammatory than that, and he threatened to mute my ahelp because I refused to roll over and accept unjust punishment, no matter how small it was in the grand scheme of things.

I don't remember the exact wording, but it was a tad bit more than Rusty is letting on. I was on at the time, and was monitoring the events unfolding, and I completely agree with Tish's decision.

I was sitting in msay, when I see you ahelp, so I scroll back up see what OOC had to say. Again, I don't remember the exact wording, but it wasn't the polite way you have set it out to be.

It does seem like there is more than that's being let on.

About the moment in question:

[01:53:53]OOC: Glitchy/Rusty Sh4ckleford : That moment.

[01:54:00]OOC: Glitchy/Rusty Sh4ckleford : When you google wetskrell.nt.

[01:54:06]OOC: Glitchy/Rusty Sh4ckleford : And fine several tumblrs.

[01:54:10]OOC: Glitchy/Rusty Sh4ckleford : With sexual skrell images.

You have been warned four times before on the server for bringing up overly sexual topics in OOC where you have talked about things like rape and pornography. Knowing this, what could've possibly told you that it's okay to bring up pornography tumblr pages in OOC? By this point, something should be telling you, "Wow, I shouldn't do this. I've been warned about this before", but nothing did, you carried the action out, and you were punished accordingly.

About threatening to mute you from ahelps

You kept sending a single message every time you had a sentence or two, and that is simply aggravating not just for me (who is trying to respond to your first couple of sentences), but also to every single administration/moderation staff member because they get our adminPMs too. Stick to a single message at a time because otherwise all you are doing is infuriating staff by going

  • ADMIN: PM: Hey

ADMIN: PM: Why is this happening?

ADMIN: PM: I was trying to talk to that guy

    ADMIN: PM: Really?

    ADMIN: PM: C'mon, stop that

You didn't say those things, but that is just an example, and along with that, you were sending these repeated messages whilst I was trying to end the conversation, and had previously already come to my decision. Trying to push a conversation after the staff member has made their decision (which is final according to the rules, and says you come here to contest these, which you did, but only after I made the threat) is, in fact, against the rules, and things like that are also punished accordingly (just an ahelp mute until the player has decided to take the issue to the forums), but I didn't dispense said punishment.

I acted well within the rules of the server. Somebody was breaking the same rule they were previously warned about four times, I engaged, and the offender was punished accordingly.

Tishina, you notice how those are the only four things I said in OOC? I didn't go on to say, "Hey, look at these images, look at this, look at that, this is great!" and start linking images, and then going into detail and then going overboard with it. I simply a statement derived from my surprise that someone would even make that. And the four previous offenses are irrelevant in this case, as I didn't repeat what I did then.

ADMIN: PM: Also, I like how you bring up

ADMIN: PM: The point of me making short messages

ADMIN: PM: As if it has any relevance whatsoever.

ADMIN: PM: It is a way for me to express a point.

You can't bring up a case in which I was being rude, or disrespectful. I pushed the issue, yes, but only because you were being unreasonable.

I can concede that I've been the recipient of a few of Tish's snippy a-help responses. I remember one conversation in particular in which a polite attempt to persuade was met with a very curt citation of the "admins are always right" rule along with an ominous "don't do it again, or else," which really did leave a sour taste in my mouth. That said, I would really only describe Tish as "rough around the edges" rather than outright hostile - a descriptor I would assign to Rusty as well.

We have two individuals who're a bit rough around the edges, so what do we get? When they brush shoulders, the coefficient of friction is so large that they're getting stuck on the other's perceived lack of sensitivity and professionalism.
