Owen Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 I know that at this point, this topic is over a month old, but I just recently actually read the Visegrad page after hearing about it for so long. I think it is definitely a very interesting concept and I feel that it is one of the rare cases where a planet ties back to the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc as a whole (unless I am missing something, this seems like it should be more common given that they were one of the world superpowers in this timeline). Outside of the general history, I thought that the actual environment of Visegrad was a fresh and unique take. Too often I feel that we are dealing with near-utopian environments in many of the planets that are in our lore. A lot of the major planets tend to be similar to gaia worlds to use Stellaris as a point of reference. I also liked that the lore for Visegrad provides a clear reason why a character may have travelled to Biesel. Given the political turmoil, it is mentioned that it is not uncommon to see many Visegradi colonists be uprooted and travel the galaxy to find better conditions to call home. Given all of that, I am genuinely considering making a new character come from Visegrad (if I ever get around to making a new character). Overall, it was quite an enjoyable read.

On it's own I like Visegrad as a planet, it has interesting history, present conflict, ties to the wildlands, and a possibility for characters who all won't just be clones of one another. However it's issue to me is that it's the only planet in the wildlands. While the wildlands offers amazing opportunities, until other planets are added(if they are added) there is very little that is canon to compare it to, in my experience making it difficult to really link with anyone not from the planet, as very few other characters have experienced what a Visegradi might. It's either 'Oh I'm from a planet under the control of Biesel, the CoC, or a core world still under the control of the Junta'. There's no-one else to really play about with from the wildlands This also however makes the RP between two Visegradi much more close I think, atleast in my experience, so it's a blessing and a curse. That said, what I just pointed out isn't an issue at all with the planet itself, rather other things, but I wanted to atleast write down my thoughts somewhere(so sorry if this wasn't the right place). But overall, visegrad was a good addition to the lore! Edited January 13, 2022 by Triogenix

The planet ban makes this impossible, unfortunately, and I fear we may never see another canon wildlands planet. In a perfect world I would want a planet for every warlord, but that's a tall order - one more would get the job done.
