A switch to auto populate a little bit of mess around station for janitors

is there a way someone could push a button to auto populate a map  with random messes for a janitor?

like a switch. so its only got stuff to clean populating when a janiter is wanting to play?

I find when i play theres not much to clean. there was a concern with persistant mess but im thinking this might be one way to  avoid mess when there is no janitor.

Baystation has (had?) a persistent filth mechanic that would dirty up active parts of the station. So an area that had last rounds gunfight will appear quite filthy as an extreme example and an area that had a lot of foot tracking but no cleaning would remain dirty as a less extreme one.

Could be worth looking into if anyone wished to draw on what's been implemented elsewhere

The foot traffic and litter part would be interesting, but I don't think it'd make sense to have the persistent blood/vomit/etc.

It's not persistent blood, it's just things like blood and vomit are converted into a generic grime for the next round. It always felt a little odd when after a particularly violent round, the next round Medbay and the hallways would be completely caked in filth all over.

I recalled it still distinctly looked like blood, just in a browner palette. It was often obviously the site of a shoot-out which never particularly looked good.

Well, it can be tweaked, to fit our expectations, surely. I kind of like it, honestly. There was a suggestion to port persistent-ish graffiti and sticky notes, too, which fade over time. I like both suggestions, honestly. Especially on the ship I think it can be fun to find sticky notes in maintenance tunnels with something funny or interesting written on it. Some people already kind of do this by using the notice boards and having pre-written random office notices (e.g. "Who took my food out of the conference room last week?") at hand to make their workplace more lively.
